Sometimes, pictures of Freddie Garcia freak me out, like the one you use as your avatar. I sometimes think he's the Rock reincarnated into a baseball player. If a fight ever breaks out he needs to peoples elbow someone, or even better, he should start referring to himself as the Peoples Pitcher in media appearances. QUOTE(Jordan4life_2004 @ Jan 26, 2005 -> 10:13 PM) Offense=Pods Pitching=Contreras

You're old. QUOTE(FlaSoxxJim @ Jan 26, 2005 -> 07:39 PM) Bart Johnson was the first sports autograph I ever got as a kid. He was the speaker at one of my little league banquets. I remember that I also got a pretty cool White Sox transistor radio that night for selling x-number of raffle tickets. That was like 600 years ago, of course.

Qwertys opinion means tons...you can't even weigh it it means so much, because no scale of that magnitude exists. This coming from a self proclaimed Jabronie... QUOTE(Jabroni @ Jan 26, 2005 -> 12:02 AM) How about your opinion means s***?
-
I live about 5 blocks away from The Cell...so I can always take the redline to Sox games at Wrigley...though I'd rather just walk to Sox games.

Time for a name change/picture change. QUOTE(El Caballo @ Jan 25, 2005 -> 11:42 PM) You never hear Marte's name on the list of best relief pitchers.

AROW. QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Jan 25, 2005 -> 11:28 PM) I say Freddy Garcia, Jose Contreras, and Dustin Hermanson.

And the REALLY good news is, *IF* Iguchi turns out to be even 80% of what he was in Japan the past few years, we got him locked up for another year at low money, AND have an option at a third year! QUOTE(Jabroni @ Jan 25, 2005 -> 11:22 PM)

I haven't felt this good about a season beginning since 94, sadly enough...or, happily enough, depending on how you look at things. QUOTE(TheBlackSox8 @ Jan 25, 2005 -> 11:15 PM) Pumped doesn't describe the way everyone feels about the upcoming season right now.....everyone's impatient...as am i. I hope Iguchi does do his part and contributes as he says...Here's to the 05 Sox

I agree 100%, I think many people are overlooking the fact that LEE played at US Cellular while Dye played in Oakland, where, as we all know, hitting home runs is a lot harder than it looks...Oakland owned us the past few years BECAUSE of that...we went there thinking 'small park, homer time', only it didn't quite work out that way...the ball seems to die there, while here, it keeps going. Also...people forget Everett has a winners attitude, and after his early season injury last year, combined with the fact he didn't feel as if his team stood a chance, he let himself go...on the Sox, Everett feels he has a REAL chance to win, so unlike last season, we get to see the REAL Everett. I think this guy is VASTLY underrated -- he has the heart of a champion and does ANYTHING to win. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Jan 25, 2005 -> 11:15 PM) I think a healthy dye at the cell hits 30 and 100.

Stop drinking the koolaide! I think the point is, the way we tried doing it the past three years did not work, so we are trying it this way instead. The only alternative is a higher payroll, which we do not have and will not be getting, therefore this is the only feasable answer KW could come up with. Personally, I like it. Should make for a more exciting brand of baseball. -y2 QUOTE(Texsox @ Jan 25, 2005 -> 09:05 PM) OK, we've improved in these areas. Is it a better mix than offense? You cannot defense against a 450 foot shot. I've been drinking the koolaide, but starting to wonder if it really is this easy, why doesn't every team do it?

QUOTE(JUGGERNAUT @ Jan 24, 2005 -> 05:45 PM) Uggh, next it will be Gold Ranger, or Gundam, or Bebop, or maybe Frylock Rock Steady or whatever.

QUOTE(AddisonStSox @ Jan 24, 2005 -> 05:25 PM) Neil Peart is a god amongst insects. I have idolized Peart since the third grade. I hope this is serious, calling someone like Peart a god amongst insects...I'm not quite sure how to take that...just in case you were making fun of Peart, you get this :

QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Jan 24, 2005 -> 05:24 PM) That would be just fine by me. Rush would never accept such a trade, Neil Peart is worth too much in comparison to Harris. I've always like Harris' pure speed, but he never does anything with it. At least Peart uses it to his advantage.
-
QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Jan 24, 2005 -> 05:21 PM) He also was signing his autograph upside down on those mini helmets. Its Willie being Willie. A total jackass. We should trade Willie Harris for Neil Peart. -y2
-
No, no...and NO. We signed Marte to a 3 year deal for ONLY 4.5M + options for 2007 and 2008. You aren't going to find another pitcher like Marte who will take a contract like that, EVER. That's VERY cheap for someone of Marte's quality, and I say we keep him rather than trading him away and weakening our pitching staff. -y2

QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jan 13, 2005 -> 11:45 AM) Pretty good, I don't think AJ would appreciate it though. AJ would love it.

QUOTE(WilliamTell @ Jan 12, 2005 -> 07:51 PM) I do like your sense of humor there. How do I join the Takatsu fan club? That is like the ultimate secret society!

QUOTE(That funky motion @ Jan 12, 2005 -> 10:10 PM) Put that one at the top! To funny. Well, at least a few of you have a sense of humor.

QUOTE(Jeckle2000 @ Jan 12, 2005 -> 07:44 PM) At first I thought that was the new banner Well apparantly most people around here do not like my sense of humor. I thought it was funny.

Sorry, I have a wacked sense of humor.

With all of this Cubs talk/Cubs bashing, I have one thing to add: It's not the Cubs that kept us out of the division race last year, it was the Twins, combined with the Sox falling flat like 20 minute old RC cola. We play the Cubs 6 games per year, and although they are considered a rival...they are a intra-city rival, which comes second to a division rival. It comes second to the Twins. The Twins and their park are what suck...domes/turf have no place in baseball. The HHH Metradome. More like the HHH MetraDON'T...am I rite? -y2

QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Jan 12, 2005 -> 03:53 PM) Nice. If someone can try to translate what Oz is saying to the people not able to hear the interview, that'd be grrrreat. Winningisfunandfuniswinning. I think he's saying it's fun to win or something.

QUOTE(CubKilla @ Jan 12, 2005 -> 04:27 PM) Not all Cub fans are stupid. There are actually quite a few that do know a thing or two about baseball..... a few are members of my family. And those fans are just as upset this offseason as I was last offseason AND the Cubs have made more moves this offseason than the Sox did last offseason. I agree, I'm friends with quite a few very intelligent Cub fans, who also watch other teams/keep track of other teams. Personally, I do not mind Wrigley, definatly NOT a place to bring kids (if you have any), however, for a young adult/adult, it's a great place to watch a ballgame-that is-if you really pay attention to the game. Believe it or not, there ARE Cub fans that do watch the games. Every team has it's fair share of idiots, including the Sox, I really hate it when "fans" of other teams say all Sox fans are thugs, so it's equally annoying when I see people say things like all Cub fans are stupid and don't know a thing about baseball. As a purist fan of baseball, Wrigley IS a great place to watch a ballgame. But Comiskey is still the greatest baseball show on earth. You may now proceed to pummel me for saying the unthinkable about Wrigley. -y2

Who cares, when a legend dies and someone pays tribute to them in the wrong forum, (the forum MOST people read), the rules go out the window. RIP, Reggie White -y2
