  1. Here we go with the meltdown.
  2. Meaning this should end in a popup to 1st base.
  3. ...and what else is new...solo shots all over the place. WE NEED TO DO THIS WHEN WE HAVE F'N RUNNERS ON FIRST AND THIRD WITH ZERO OUTS!#%$!@$#!
  4. Who cares...let him go. I'm done defending him...and I have time and time again. He's finished. Hopefully this loss is a blessing in disguise, as I'm almost positive Ozzie/KW will no longer use Koch in the closers role. 2 games in 1 week... Let's keep this up...same old Sox. GIVE the division to the Twins...they like taking it.
  5. On the Fox News channel here at work it says 93.
  6. Yes, just announced...Ronald Regan has died at the age of 93. Rest in peace.
  7. Nevermind, I got the irc to work. :>
  8. Neither of those are working...something must be wrong with the soxcentral server.
  9. Good start! Now let's keep it going in the later innings.
  10. I'm at work as well, but I'll have gameday on...so I expect a few extra details on here...so post some descriptions, boys!
  11. You sometimes see the gun read the ball off the bat...so basically what you saw was Carlos hit the ball at 101 MPH. -y2
  12. Let's not forget, the year Koch saved 44 games he STILL had 6 blown saves...as a matter of fact, he has YET to have a year where he blows less than 4 games! You know that BEFORE he even put on a Sox uniform. And that...as they say, is that! -y2
  13. Well I think we can go on and on about this, but ultimatly it's up to Koch...if he blows two more saves, I'm sure Ozzie will make a change...but so far, he's only blown 2...and I have to say, not that I enjoy defending professional baseball players, but that Oakland game...those were some LUCKY hits off Koch in the 9th. -y2
  14. I say BobDylan here is our new closer. This is my official nomination of BobDylan for Sox closer... We've gone over this about Koch a number of times...and we probably will a number of times more. At the moment, Koch is our closer. -y2
  15. On to more important issues, someone find me a cool avatar and a signature. -y2
  16. Most of the famous closers throughout the history of baseball have done exactly that...made the fans and teams sweat it out. Look at Bobby Thigpen...no different. -y2
  17. But if you get the save, your ERA can be 9.00, and that doesn't matter. His job is to close games, high era or low era--hell or high water--no matter how he finds a way to get it done, his job is to get it done...period. Granted, he did not get it done two times now...but as I've clearly pointed out, aside from the VERY few teams that have closers like Wagner or Gagne, we are not much different from most teams out there. In other words...deal with it. -y2
  18. That's just my point, not everyone has a super closer...someone above me listed a hundred "closers" who are no better than who we currently have, claiming most teams have great closers. There are not many Wagners, or Gagnes in the league...I don't have to look up their stats...I was merely pointing out that a LOT of teams are in the same boat as us... -y2
  19. 2004 Smoltz : 7 Saves 1 Blown Dotel : 8 Saves 2 Blown Hawkins : 3 Saves 2 Blown Guardado : 9 Saves 3 Blown Koch : 7 Saves 2 Blown Borowski : 9 Saves 2 Blown What is it you were saying again?! Perhaps some of us need to start looking at these super-closers super-statistics and realize they aren't much better than the guys we're using in Chicago. In case you don't realize it yet...not everyone can have Gagne. k-thanx for listening. -y2
  20. You see...THIS is why Buehrle lost this game, NOT Koch and a few lucky base hits. This is what...the fourth or fifth blown opportunity by our offense today? That's all Koch's fault, too. -y2
