im guessing ESPN bought it.
-
we are currently 11-5 vs Detroit so we won that one. What are vs Minny? Im pretty sure its 7-9
-
isnt Frank only getting $1 mill this year? wow the A's gambled on him and its sure paying off. Lets hope Mr. White Sox and his A's destroy Minny these next 2 games!
-
Joe is not going anywhere. Why do you think KW and Ozzie want Fields to learn how to play LF this year in winter ball? If KW gets another LF/CF it will be through free agency. The one guy I do expect to be traded this offseason is Uribe. Don't be surprised to see a Uribe/Garcia deal for a Rollins type player. Fields also provides some speed, so i can see him as our starting LFer in 2007. Rollins, Gooch, Dye, Thome, PK, AJ, Crede, Anderson, Fields

QUOTE(Allsox @ Sep 12, 2006 -> 03:15 PM) If the Twins have wrapped up a playoff spot come that Sunday, Santana won't be pitching in that game. We will see Liriano no matter that Friday. Detroit has KC for six games. Hopefully, they can be a pain to them as they were to us and the Twins. yea i saw that on the schedule and was pissed off until i realized KC is playing one hell of a spoiler so far in 2nd half. look what they did to Boston, Minny and us? If they can do that to 3 of the top offensive clubs in baseball then they can sure beat the struggling Tigers or at least split with them.
-
If we can somehow get in the playoffs, my rotation would be: Garland, Contreras, Vazquez, Buerhle with Garcia coming from the pen. Garland is our ace, Jose C and Javier have really stepped it up as of late and if I were to chose 1 of our 2 struggling starters right now, it would have to be Buerhle.
-
something tells me that this will change when they are not selling enough 'weekend packages'. look for individual day tickets to go on sale as SoxFest gets closer.
-
So let me get this straight. If the Tigers and Sox tied for the wildcard or division we would host the one game playoff? Also what would happen if there was a 3 way tie for the wild card and central division? How would they figure that one out?
-
Good win! Every day is a new day!! C'mon Mr. Buerhle!! We need you tonite big man. I dunno about you guys, but watching us out in Anahiem is reminding me of the ALCS and we all know how we did out there then! Lets win this series TODAY not tommorow!

QUOTE(mu mu @ Sep 11, 2006 -> 03:25 PM) Results so far... TB: 2-1 KC: 1-2 BOS: 1-2 CLE: 2-2 So, 13 games into the final 32 game stretch, we're 6-7. Typical, since we're below .500 since the All-Star break in July. Only 6 teams and 19 games left to play, can the Sox edge out the Twins or the Tigers? Remaining... LAA (3 Away) OAK (3 Away) DET (3 Home) SEA (4 Home) CLE (3 Away) MIN (3 Away) Okay well they gave away any chance for breathing room. NOW THEY MUST win every series to make the playoffs. The Twins will win this division, so that 3 game series vs Detroit is the most important series out of this final stretch IMO. THEY MUST WIN: 2 of 3 @ LAA 2 of 3 @ OAK 2 of 3 vs DET 3 of 4 vs SEA 2 of 3 @ CLE 2 of 3 @ MIN If they can somehow do this!?!? God for bid play over .500 baseball the rest of the way!! We will end up 95-67 and this SHOULD be good enough to pass Detroit for that Wild Card spot.

McCarthy has proven to us all that he is NOT a reliever. How many times as he gave up a lead or a tie this season? I probably dont have enough fingers to count that high. How dissappointing. The Tigers have lost a bunch latley and we only gain like 1 game in that time period? This is disgusting.
-
As long as we can win today (9/10)...
GreatScott82 replied to TheChrisSamsa's topic in Pale Hose Talk
im actually rooting for the Twins today. Why not cut the central deficit down even more?!? The Tigers are struggling right now, we must take advantage of that. -
QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Sep 8, 2006 -> 02:45 PM) And then, let's trade Pablo Ozuna to St Louis for Albert Pujols. After that, let's trade Buehrle for Johan Santana and Matt Garza. Then, we trade Tadahito Iguchi for Chase Utley and Ryan Howard. Howard'll be a solid bat off the bench. WOw that would be tremendous! I love sarcasm!! Good one buddy. I agree that we probably wont get Tejada, but your saying Crawford is out of the question then? I love Sweeney and Anderson out there and all but having them both out there at the same time could be a disaster. Not defensively, but they can be offensive liabilities. I suppose if you bring Lugo over he can spell some of the leadoff problems. And yes that would be more 'realistic'.
-
I doubt the Sox go after Hunter. We still won't have a leadoff hitter then. Unless KW can find a leadoff capable SS. My #1 goal would be to swoop Crawford from Tampa. Then you can leave B. Anderson out in CF. Then package a mega deal to Baltamore for Tejada and Bedard. Tampa would want McCarthy, Sweeney and another top prospect. And I say do it. Then trade Garcia, Broadway, Uribe and cash for Tejada and Bedard. Your 2007 Chicago White Sox: Starting Rotation: Buerhle, Garland, Contreras, Vazquez, Bedard Starting lineup: Crawford LF Iguchi 2B Tejada SS Thome DH Konerko 1B Dye RF Crede 3B Pierzynski C Anderson CF Okay yeah that would be unfair for everyone! But if we miss the playoffs i expect something along these lines for KW. Yeah that would be my ultamate bday present (today is my birthday) hopefully KW can pull something off like this.
-
the pathetic thing is. we score only 2 runs off tavarez? a middle aged middle reliever?!? yep im just about to fall off the ledge. somewhere justin morneau is probably celebrating this loss more than the twins win today.

2006 White Sox Catch-All Thread

wow mccarthy sucks ass in the pen. -
How about Vince McMahon's theme "No Chance in Hell" I'm not sure who sings it, but its bad ass and would fit him well.
-
c'mon JD lets sweep these guys right out of contention!
-
I think about 90% of us on here know that the season is going to come down to that final series in Minny. We will really see how bad this team wants that title again during that final weekend. And yes its coming really soon. So as far as Morneau goes.. if his biggest 'goal' is to eliminate us from a playoff birth he should get out of baseball. Yea its okay to hate your rival teams. However, every players #1 goal should be to win the World Series. What a shmuck. Bring it on sucka!
-
One more thing. How come every time Detroit loses we lose? And every time they win we win?!? The Sox sure know how to sieze an oppurtunity to catch up dont they! Just bad
-
The season will come down to the final series with Minny. I said earlier that if we don't win 5 of 6 vs KC and Tampa it would be a HUGE dissappointment. Well that means we have to sweep KC. I highly doubt that will happen. We will be lucky to squeeze two wins out of there.
-
Thanks for finding those #s guys. Pretty interesting stuff.
-
Has that ever happend in MLB before? Here are the #s: Dye- 39 Thome- 36 Konerko- 29 Crede-28 These 4 will all hit 30+ Homeruns. When was the last time a team had 4 guys hit 30+ homeruns? Uribe- 16 Iguchi-14 Pierzynski- 12 Theres a good chance AJ won't hit 20, but I like the chances of Uribe and Gooch. The Sox could be breaking some offensive records this season.

Devil Rays @ Sox - August 31 Game Thread

QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Aug 31, 2006 -> 01:43 PM) I'm actually more worried about the Royals then the Red Sox. The Royals are playing loose and have no pressure on them. Yep. The Royals are playing the spoiler role this season. Have to give them credit for that. The KC series wont be easy. They split with us and now they have won the Minnesota series. KC is playing pretty impresive ball vs very good teams. -
