  1. QUOTE(Steff @ Dec 1, 2005 -> 06:08 PM) Nice Jon.. way to ruin a good week. Hopefully they work something out.. I do think Jon would get about $7 million in arbitration. I wouldn't say he ruined a good week. He just feels he can make more money via the open market like Pauly did this year. There is still a chance he will return in '07. Besides we still don't know the #s involved with the initial offer? If its less than what he'll get in arbitration than I understand why he turned it down. He didn't ruin a good week. At least he'll be back in 2006! Plus we might be hearing the signing of Mueller very soon. Stay tuned
  2. QUOTE(Jimbo's Drinker @ Dec 1, 2005 -> 05:56 PM) That free agent list makes me cry...what a horrid list. there i turned it green for him. That free agent list is druel worthy.
  3. QUOTE(nitetrain8601 @ Dec 1, 2005 -> 05:53 PM) I'm pretty sure there's an option for Dye and Iguchi. Thats good news. My main concerns are Jon G and Jose C! We have to lock those guys up. They are Aces in the making. No doubt about it.
  4. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Dec 1, 2005 -> 05:47 PM) Dye and Tad both have options...they'll both be back. Since when did we get Carlos back? Haha i was just saying those are the Sox or former Sox I know that will be FA after the '06 season.
  5. I know C. Lee, Jon G., Jose Contreras, J. Dye, El-duque, Iguchi, and Pierzynski will be on that list from the Sox. Unless KW locks them up before hand.
  6. QUOTE(Jimbo's Drinker @ Dec 1, 2005 -> 05:43 PM) Can someone list the major FA's?? after the 2006 season?
  7. Yep it makes sense for him to test the market. He better hope he can pitch as well as he did in '05 to make big cash after '06. I'm sure the Yankees and Red Sox will offer a ridiculous chunk of change next offseason.
  8. Carmy and Silvy just said negoitations are off. He will go to arbitration and expect a large chunck of change for the '06 season. He will test the market after the season. This is good news and bad news for us. The good news is Jon G. will pitch his heart out for another season. The bad news is- this might be his final season in a Sox uniform. Other starters: Buerhle signed through '07, Garcia signed through '07, This is El-duque and Contreras' last year of there contracts also. Yikes! Lets enjoy the ride at least one more time with this pitching staff.
  9. It will still be lefty, righty, lefty, righty for the first 4 hitters.
  10. They didn't say the #s however he is expected to get 7.5 mill this season in avoiding arbatration. I'm guessing he wants to test the free agent market after the '06 season. If I find out the #s i'll let you know. Hopefully KW isn't done negotiating. Jon G is a HUGE piece to our puzzle.
  11. ESPN 1000 just reported that Jon Garland turned down the White Sox 3 year contract extension offer. It looks like this will be Jon G's final season with the Champs.
  12. Mueller's stats Pretty solid #s. Really solid for a utility man. Bring him aboard.
  13. I agree. You have everyone freaking about Crede.
  14. Hmm this could be the end of both Harris and Timo. Ozuna is almost as fast as Harris and he is a better baserunner. And with the potential addition of Mueller this could mean a potential trade for a starting CF. IMO I don't think KW is satisfied with BA just yet. It took awhile to get Rowand to play everyday remember? Remember adding Lofton in 02, then Everett in the middle of '03? Rowand accepted a bench role until KW knew he was ready. I can see the same situation happen to Anderson. I think you can get a solid CFer for both Harris and Marte would do you guys think?
  15. If Mueller accepts a bench role IM SOLD on this. Now all KW needs to do is aqcuire a 4th OF or a starting CF and we are set. Group 4: Widger, Harris, Ozuna, Mueller, (4th OF) = SOLID
  16. Bruce was right about Thome. Maybe he has something here......
  17. QUOTE(SSH2005 @ Dec 1, 2005 -> 04:00 PM) Thome could play 1st base and Konerko could DH, when Paulie needs rest. If one of them got injured, they could just call up a 1st baseman like Gload or Rogowski. And I just heard the sports update. The Sox are trying to convince Bill Mueller to sign on as a utility-man and backup Crede and Iguchi. Whats the source?
  18. Yeah we have pleanty of backup options for 1B. 1. Kong, 2. Thome (after all this is his first year being a DH) 3. Dye, 4. Gload (if he's up with us- his days are likely done for the Sox) Ozuna can play all INF possitions and OF possitions. Willie's speed will keep him around as a back up CF/2B. Widger is a must need as AJs backup C. Timo? This might be the end of Timo's days here. Esspecially if KW goes out and gets a CFer. I can see Anderson as our 4th OF in 2006. So your bench is: Ozuna, Harris, Widger, and Anderson. If we go to 11 pitchers again we can add Mueller to Group 4! But then again would would we do with both El-duque and BMac on the roster? Maybe its the end of Visciano? Or maybe Hermy will miss a month or 2 to rest his back? Wow im thinking waaaayyy too much about this.
  19. That is true. SOmeone will need to take Blums spot on the bench. Bring him aboard! BUT, not at the expense of Crede leaving. The rally crede means to much to Soxtalk.
  20. THis couldn't mean the end of Crede can it? Is his back really that bad? He was awesome in the playoffs. Will Mueller accept an INF bench role? And I DONT want Nomar here. No way- no how! I'm going to pull a Hawk and say "Where would he play?" Don't even say CF! I'm telling you- he is a clubhouse cancer.
  21. PAULIE, PAULIE, PAULIE!!!!!!!! and soon we will be able to say: THOME, THOME, THOME!!!!! 2006 White Sox = Dominant
  22. Latest on Myers via ESPN: The Yankees are close to a deal with him. DAMN!
  23. QUOTE(lemon44 @ Nov 30, 2005 -> 08:51 PM) Ed Farmer was on the Score today and said that Nomar might go to a team and play CF.Maybe the Sox are the team thinking about this and he could back up Crede at third. Pass on Nomar. Where he goes- teams fail one way or another. Heard he is a clubhouse cancer also. Besides I would much rather go with a young phenom in BA over a veteran who has never played the possition.
