QUOTE(Jordan4life_2005 @ Nov 30, 2005 -> 09:13 PM) Please god, don't let end up in Cleveland. It's gonna be hard enough to hold them off. I'm guessing Oakland. Since Anahiem is now leaning toward Piazza. However, Cleveland and Minnesota both want power. I would hate to see him on one of our divisional foes.
-
We have to power- it makes sense to get some more speed. However, Brian Anderson plays better defense. Hmmmm decisions-decisions! Its not like we need Pierre, I mean Iguchi is a very productive #2 hitter. I would like to see BA get a chance to be ROY. I would also like to see the P-P's get 150 SBs combined as well. I'm 50-50 on the Anderson vs Pierre as well! However, to me Myers is a no brainer over Marte. He just isn't consistant enough to keep him. He had 1 solid performance in the WS, but he also almost blew a game for us in the ALDS. Thank god we have Cotts these days.... DAMN do we have a good team!!! Whatever Kenny does- i'm all for it. He's earned my trust years ago.
-
Thanx Big Hurt for being the best offensive presence in White Sox history. You will be missed. Good luck in Anahiem, Oakland, Minnesota or Cleveland or wherever life has you headed next. Soon we will see #35 on the outfield wall next to the other greats! And your statue will be bigger than life- just like you were
-
Bring on Myers, trade Marte and we are set
-
This makes the Thome trade that much better! A righty-lefty-righty power trio of Pauly, Thome and Dye make our offense scary! Last season it wasn't so scary. Does Ozzie still want a speedy #2 guy or do you guys think we will stick with gooch there?
-
Wooooohooo!! i haven't been this happy since October 26th, 2005. And we all know what happend that day
-
Ahhhhhhh stay PAULY!!! THE WHITE SOX NATION LOVES YOU!!!!

QUOTE(aboz56 @ Nov 30, 2005 -> 06:08 PM) Chances of repeating go down big time if we lose PK. We must get him back. Exactly. No offense to THome BUT PK is younger & he is beloved in Chicago. His last 2 seasons proved to us that he is the real deal. He loves playing for Ozzie and he is clutch. Some things are priceless and having PK on our team is priceless- and for somethings to be priceless some people will have to pay a hefty price. And I think Rieny and KW knows PK is worth everything the Angels offer. And to me a 5 year/ 60 million contract is well worth it to me. He will be 30 years old this year. By the end of that contract he will be 35 and that is still young in slugger age.

QUOTE(GoSox05 @ Nov 30, 2005 -> 05:54 PM) If he signs with us great, if not it will be fun beating him in the playoffs. Thome will hit our grand slams. IMO Thome is the lefty version Frank Thomas. He is a DH only. If Pauly leaves we are going to have to settle for a player like Overbay- not to mention lose talent in attempt to aqcuire him. Yeah Thome can hit grandslams, but Konerko makes our team that much better. And our chances of repeating would diminish rapidly.

His wife is from Arizona i'm pretty sure. And he is from LA. The dodgers drafted him right out of his high school in LA. And since LA is near Arizona and there ST facility is in AZ, the Angels have an advantage in that aspect.
-
Its down to Anahiem or Us. Lets wiegh his options: White Sox advantages: Hometown hero, Defending World Champions, Have awesome pitching, Aqcuired Thome to give him some hitting security, Our field is a homerun hitting ballpark. He is by far the face of this organization and he will never be loved anywhere else like he is loved here on the south side. LA Angels advantages: Near his home in AZ, good friends with Scocia from his days with the Dodgers, also have a solid pitching staff, warm weather for most of the season, have Vlad to give him hitting security. I say right now its 50-50. It can go either way. I really hope he stays :pray

Sox interested in Mike Myers; Marte being shopped

QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ Nov 30, 2005 -> 01:00 AM) Why do people even want Pierre.... We are going to have a total of 3 HR's from our 1-2 hitters..... Maybe so. However, we will have a combined 150 SBs from the 2. Its all about run production for Dye, PK and Thome! And if Pierre doesn't work out in the 2 hole- put the Iguchi back there. -

If the Sox get Myers. I can see a 3-way deal happen between the Marlins, Rangers and Us. We get Pierre Rangers get Marte Marlins get 2 or 3 prospects (including Sweeney) -
Latest off from LA Angels- 5 year/60 million Lets see if we can match that offer. That should be the highest outside offer he recieves. 12/year is less than the 13/year we offered. But if that 5th offers is the key to a deal- just give it to him! He's earned it.
-
Don't forget we are the defending world champions also. And how can we forget Pauly saying "What is it going to take for baseball people to realize we are a good team? And I came up with 1 thing... We are just going to have to go ahead and do this again next year" If Pauly is a man of his word- he will be back here!
-
Lets see the Angels offered 4/ 50 million (12.5 / year) The Orioles offered 5/60 million (12/year) We had reportedly offered 4/52 million ( 13/year)- Thats the highest offer so far and with this being his team for the last 7 seasons I like our chances of us keeping him. If that 5th year is a concern than offer a player option with incentives. My only concerned left now is Boston! They tend to spend ALOT of money on free agents. However, if we can lock Pauly down before Boston makes an offer he's back in black! Lets hope that Manny thing doesn't get figured out for a long time.

QUOTE(fathom @ Nov 29, 2005 -> 05:15 AM) I had a feeling early last week that Rowand was going to be off the Sox within 10 days. Now, I have a feeling that PK will be with another team within 10 days. Maybe it's just me, but with the Thome addition, I honestly think it might be best for the Sox if PK goes elsewhere, and that money is used to re-sign AJP and Garland, and add a few other free agents. I disagree with that statement. Re-sign Pauly and figure out what to do from there. With all the money we made why can't we re-sign AJP and Jon G to extensions also? I want the whole enchelata!!! Rick Hahn said if we re-sign PK it is almost certain BA will be our CFer. According to CSN this will be Ozzie's lineup as of today (IF PK comes back): Pods, Gooch, Dye, Thome, Pauly, AJP, Crede, Uribe, Anderson Solid! However, we lose some speed in Rowand. Unless BA can steal some bases for us?? Whats BA's speed like? I know his defense is there.
-
I also agree- the Mets will still suck.
-
ESPN reports: Billy Wagner signs a 4 year deal worth about 43 million with the New York Mets. Wow once again the Mets overpay for a player. Wagner is good. BUT he is gettin up there in age. With the thin pitching market this year- i'm happy were thick with pitching.

QUOTE(DonkeyKongerko @ Nov 28, 2005 -> 09:22 PM) G AB R H 2B 3B HR RBI BB K SB CS AVG OBP SLG OPS 58 210 43 60 8 2 18 50 34 69 1 1 .286 .382 .600 .982 Thanks DK. Pretty solid #s. Lets see in 58 games here he hit .286 with 18 HR and 50 RBIs. In 81 home games that translates to approxiamately 25 HR and 70 RBIs. If you add that to his road stats and he stays healthy JT can easily hit 40 HR and 130-140 RBIs.

Yeah this guy is pumped! He seems like a team player. It was funny when he said: "Pauly PLEASE COME BACK!" lol I think he wants the Pauly-Thome combo as much as we do. What do you guys think the motto will be in '06 if we get another speedy guy for the 2 hole? 'SPEED + POWER= Many runs!'

anyone have his career stats at the cell?
