  1. Carl is a much better contact hitter- Frank is doing nothing but swinging for the fences. We don't need that selfish play on this team.
  2. QUOTE(Jabroni @ Jun 30, 2005 -> 01:58 AM) on you- Frank is washed up. He takes waaayyy too many pitches. We dont need him
  3. we had Rowand off the bench- we should have used him. Esspecially since Frank is in a major freaking drought! Frank has never been clutch- Rowand has.
  4. Our lineup should look like this: Pods LF Gooch 2B Rowand CF Thomas/Everett DH Dye RF Konerko 1B A.J. C Crede 3B Uribe SS
  5. It's time to move Pauly down in the lineup. Move him down to 5 or 6 staring tommorow Ozzie.
  6. Lets just take one game at a time- and not take any opponent for granted. Remember July looks easy on paper BUT, Oakland has improved tremendously, Cleveland and Detroit is no easy task, and Boston and Baltamore are AL East power-houses. July isn't as easy as people think- if anything September is the easiest as we are playing awesome baseball vs the AL central. But like i said before- take one game at a time and one opponent at a time- i dont care if its Boston or KC, lets continue to play solid baseball.
  7. this is a big game for McCarthy. You figure if he struggles again- KW won't hesitate to pull the trigger on a trade to bring in another starter. Does anyone know when El-duque returns?
  8. Heres is what I expect to happen before the trade deadline: KW picks up another start- Schmidt, Zito or Burnett. 1. McCarthy gets sent back down to triple-a for some seasoning. (unless he is part of the deal to aqcuire a starter) 2. El-duque comes back from the DL and goes to the bulpen. A trade like this kills 2 birds with 1 stone. We add a solid arm to our already strong pen and gain an outstanding starter. Makes sense- go for it KW!!
  9. Looks like Zito is pitching better than Schmidt tonite. As i said before Zito is getting hot as the season progresses. He has always been a 2nd half pitcher- just food for thought.
  10. i say 80% Pauly makes the all-star team. remember- they love powerhitters for the homerun derby- and PK will fit that bill mighty well.
  11. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jun 29, 2005 -> 02:16 AM) Tino Martinez or Millar will likely be the backup, though I do think Pauly has a great chance considering how his stats are far better than both of them. Thats what i was thinking. Tino will win the highschool popularity contest, but Pauly just might win the managerial vote to be the backup 1B. The popularity vote is only based on the starters not the backups.
  12. QUOTE(Jabroni @ Jun 29, 2005 -> 02:09 AM) Buehrle, Garland, and Hermanson. You could argue that Politte is also deserving but he won't get in because he's a middle reliever. That sucks- how the hell did Flash Gordon make it last year? Oh yea because Torre was the freaking manager. Every year there is about 6 yankees. This year there should be only 3 because of the popularity vote. No yankee deserves to be an allstar this year.
  13. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jun 29, 2005 -> 02:06 AM) No to Garcia, there are pitchers having much better seasons. yeah i figured. but if a pitcher goes down- he can be a possible option as a reserve. It looks like we won't have any possition players at the mid-summer classic. There is a possible chance Podsednick and Konerko can make it, but I highly doubt it.
  14. Buerhle vs Willis will (or should) be your 2005 all-star game starters. Other Sox pitchers that SHOULD be there: Garland, Hermanson, Pollite and possibly Garcia
  15. my pick to click Juan Uribe hit a triple- which became the tieing run!! Uribe:cheers Pods:cheers Dye :cheers :cheers Buerhle, Pollite and Hermy!!! WHat a game!! WOOOHOOOO!! Ozzie's celebration after the game was priceless.
  16. QUOTE(fathom @ Jun 29, 2005 -> 12:05 AM) SWING THE f***ING BAT! exactly what i said. now here comes a joe crede pop out
  17. QUOTE(jerseysox @ Jun 28, 2005 -> 11:50 PM) we're making robertson look pretty good too. to quote Happy Gillmore robertson-bonderman "who gives a s***"
  18. damn our offense looks like s***. they are swinging at the first pitch and getting quick outs. Bonderman is good- but we are making him look really good!
  19. QUOTE(jerseysox @ Jun 28, 2005 -> 11:43 PM) Ballgame. relax we will win score some runs today, although it does appear that they are lacking that killer instinct they had earlier in the year. Lets get it going damn it!
  20. My pick the click is Juan Uribe. Good to see him back in the lineup tonite. Whose your picks to clicks?
  21. I'll take Zito, Schmidt, Oswalt, or Burnett. It would be nice if El-duque just would stay healthy, but if we can add another starter we can use El-duque out of the pen and as a spot starter (kind of like what Glendon Rusch does for the sCrUBS). Should be an interesting few weeks..... But if KW doesn't acquire a big name- i wouldn't be too upset, after all- we are 50-24.
