Have to give the Royals credit... not only do they not want to finish in last, but they want to play a major role in who wins the AL Central. Keep it going KC we appreciate all your efforts!

im positive he'll be out there. The Indians would love nothing more than to spoil our playoff chances while pilling on another Cliff Lee win to his Cy Young resume.

Scenarios: 1) Sox win the next 2, Twins lose the next 2- we clinch on sunday. 2) Sox win next 2, Twins win next 2- Sox would be forced to play Detroit on Monday to force a 1 game playoff on Tuesday. 3) Sox win 1, Twins win 1- see above 4) Sox win 1, Twins win 2- Twins clinch on sunday 5) Sox lose 2, Twins lose 2- see #2 6) Sox win 2, Twins win 1- Sox would play Detroit with oppurtunity to clinch on monday 7) Sox lose 2, Twins win 1- Twins clinch on sunday Im hoping for either scenarios 1 (which realisticly probably wont happen), or 6 which can realisticly happen. The most likely scenario is 3 or 4.

Dont stop believing White Sox fans..... Shoeless Joe spirit still lives on the Southside

Lets go Royals!!! We are all Royal fans this weekend....... Honestly the Royals match up better vs the Twins in there ballpark then we do not to mention they have the best bullpens in the central. Just food for thought. This season isn't over. The Royals really want to spoil the Twins season and god bless them if they do!! Its not over until we are mathmatically eliminated. Were not down 1 game were only down .5!! Its far from over. I hope Detroit enjoys Chicago's scenary because they will make that trip to the southside! -

im as pissed off as every other sox fan out there right now. they blew it this series vs the Twins and that horrible umpire. However, i'll be there tommorow cheering this team on. Its not over till its over. KC is playing good baseball right now. And reading what Meche and Buck said, they were hoping Minny would sweep us so those games they play mean something. Well they mean a lot guys, we couldn't get the job, but i'll be praying you guys do. They have nothing to lose... those teams are scary to face. Thank goodness we are finished with the road. The 2008 White Sox were brutal on the road. However, our home record should at least give us some hope (51-26). White Sox vs Cleveland at home: 6-0!!! -

so KC is resting Grienke the rest of the year. The Twins are going to sweep them easily. I just dont see us sweeping Cleveland to force that Detroit game, let alone that coin flip extra game. The Twins just dont lose at home. We all know this team is too old and too slow. We wouldn't even be ontop of the division if it werent for the downfall of the Indians and Tigers. They'll both be back next year. -

i hate how this umpire is dictating the entire series! i know the Sox had more oppurtunities but come on. blow 3 calls in this game, 1 easy ass call yesterday that costed us the game. if this guy doesn't lose his job, then f*** Selig!! -

i dont think any of us are suprised they tied it... f*** it, lets break there hearts and win it in the 9th!! Nathan has blown 6 saves.... -
i say the odds of them winning tommorow is probably 10-15%. The Twins have the momentum and most likely the division. This season reminds me of 2004 when they lost Maggs and Frank. Yep the loss of CQ has all but ended the Sox chances of anything special this season.
-
if the Sox actually think they are going to get help from KC they have another thing coming. this season is all but over. The Rally Dweezy obviously didnt work, the dude stranded 6. If OC was there, this game probably would have been won. Oh well the Sox had there chance to extend the lead to 3.5 in KC and they blew it.
-
Im in... the Rally Dweezy will lead us to the playoffs!!

tommorow is now a must win. if we lose again tommorow we will be swept. thanks javy, already preparing for time with the wife in puerto rico eh? pathetic. we all called you out, you failed! No wonder why the Yankees and Diamondbacks quit on you. Yeah every 4 seasons he has a good year, but the rest of the time he's a sub .500 pitcher, thats a guy you cant count on.
-
haha the Sox logos behind him are extremely boot leg!! hilarious post. ET with the light bulb!

QUOTE (LosMediasBlancas @ Sep 22, 2008 -> 08:56 PM) I always forget that the tribe got that close that year. i remember the Sox had a 3.5 game lead heading into that series, they dropped the 1st one so the lead was cut to 2.5. With Cleveland on the verge of cutting the lead to 1.5, Rally Crede saved the Sox season with a walkoff homerun to put the lead back to 3.5 games. The Indians went on to win game 3 cutting the lead back to 2.5 games. But with 6 games left, the Sox got help from Tampa and KC as they went on to clinch in Detroit during the final week of the season. This is a pretty similar situation. Instead we go into this series with a 2.5 game lead. If the Sox can somehow win 1 game they come home with a 1.5 game lead against an Indian team playing pretty good baseball. If the Sox win 2, all the Sox would have to do is win 1 game vs the Tribe to clinch the division. That would be the 1st time the Sox have clinched their division at home since 1993. (Remember Bo's Home Run??)

lets have some fun... the pressure is clearly on them to win... a win in game 1 garuntees we leave out of Minny in 1st place and thats comforting! -

its kind of funny how KC has the best bullpen in the central. our division has been weird all year long. Got to win tommorow that is all. -

Okay doesn't look good tonight... got to win tommorow. Anything less than a 2.5 game leading heading into Minny is trouble. Hopefully Tampa doesn't celebrate too hard tonite... it would be sweet heading into Minny with a magic # of 4. -

If Tampa wins tonight, they clinch a playoff spot for the 1st time in there teams history. Im pretty sure the Rays will be amped tonight. Gavin Floyd can win his 17th game tonight, its amazing how far this guy has came this year... Wouldn't it be great if D-weezy 4 sheezy Wise hits another home run? Where did this dude get the power all of a sudden? Maybe Ken Griffey has been secretly training him? -
QUOTE (Texsox @ Sep 19, 2008 -> 06:56 AM) Perspective. If we were offered a ten game sprint to the playoffs against Minny at the start of the season, we would have greedily taken it. Then if we were given a head start in that sprint, woo woo. Enjoy the games, win or lose playing games this late that actually matter is a blessing. f*** I don't believe that crap. My goodness will they win one f***ing game soon? I could see 1 win this weekend then a sweep, then 1-2 to close out the season. Haha yea im not one of those fans who is 'just happy' to be in this position. We are in this position, great, nobody expected it, but who cares. There is still pleanty of work that needs to be done. Im not even going to say tonight is a 'must win' anymore. Just play good solid baseball. Im tired of this crap. They need a 2.5 game lead heading into Minny, i think everyone knows that. Just get it done, have some fun and lets go to the playoffs where anythng can happen, we can thank the 2006 St. Louis Cards who won it all with just 83 regular season wins for that statement.
-
If we go up to Minny with anything less than a 2.5 game lead we are in BIG trouble. Yea KC has won 7 in a row, but if we can't take 2 of 3 vs them we don't deserve to win the division. Since the Royals are smacking the hell out of the ball, our starters are most likely going to have to go 7-8 innings strong each game. OUr bullpen now is looking more and more like the 2007 pen each day. There is no excuse for us to not score alot of runs this series: Game 1: Mark Buerhle 13-11, 3.85 era vs Brian Bannister 8-15, 5.77 era Game 2: Gavin Floyd 16-7, 3.73 era vs Kyle Davies 7-7, 4.32 era Game 3: John Danks 10-8, 3.32 era vs Brandon Duckworth, 5.19 era We are throwing our best three starters out there vs 3 guys with an average era of 5.09. I like our chances this series. But then again the Sox couldn't do crap against a struggling Phil Hughes so who knows what to expect....

Tommorows game is huge. With the Twins up in Tampa this is our time to gain ground before heading into the biggest series of the year. My goal is to be ahead 3.5 games heading up to Minny. If thats the case all we would have to do is win one game in Minny and one game vs the Tribe @ Home to clinch.
