  1. Don't let yourself be double disappointed when Harper inevitably signs with the Phillies. Once again, it's not JR's cheapness, its the ineptitude of the management to get a deal done. If you don't offer opt outs and can't reconfigure $$ to make it more guaranteed, what is the appeal for coming here? None. This team put up ridiculousness constraints to eliminate themselves from sealing the Machado deal. No chance in Hell Harper will take a deal with zero opt outs and limited guaranteed money. Harper will get 350 million of guaranteed $$ and based on what he brings to any organization, at just 26 years old- he deserves it. So unless, the White Sox wake up from reality, don't bother wasting your time as a fan. Apparently the team payroll at $25 million next season is too high to afford a player making $30+ mill per season when that player is in his prime.
  2. It's good to be back. Just wish our team became relevant again.
  3. Until they actually convert, I am not buying the whole "going against the grain of salt" narrative. It's not cheapness, it's incompetence. Unless they land Harper (which they wont) we should not give this front office our support. At this point, they do not deserve it.
  4. We were all fools. What a waste of time to get excited about this possibility. We should have known this front office would blow it. Why did we give these guys the benefit of the doubt? These same guys haven't put together a playoff roster since 2008. Oh and lets not forget the horrible Robin Ventura 5 year experiment. This franchise is ran more like a country club than a sports team. JR just lets his buddies run a status quo operation. Bulls and White Sox are a lot alike. No accountability.
  5. When is the next time a 26 year old generational talent is available via free agency? I'm not buying the whole "were serious about getting high impact guys, spending money" narrative. Until they actually convert, I don't trust them to bring in those "High impact" guys. They squandered this opportunity by losing to another mid-market franchise. Not acceptable. No i am not encouraged.
  6. I remember back in the day, KW always saying "we have a plan B and C etc..." How come they never pull through with plan A? It's not JR's "cheapness" it's simply incompetence by the front office. They fumbled at the goal line and they dragged us all along for the ride. Shame on us for actually thinking this time would be different. And when I see "the money will still be spent" I don't want to hear it. Yeah the money will be spent on mid tier roster fillers, not superstars.
  7. And people said I over reacted yesterday. I knew this was going to happen. The front office failed big time!
  8. Looks like Machado will land in SD. Although, the MLB network radio people keep saying the Yankees will somehow jump in and get him. Sounds like the White Sox are slipping away from both Machado and Harper from all recent reports. Not good. It will be yet another offseason of false hope and disappointment for us White Sox fans. The thought of a full season of Moncada at 3B is frightening. If he played sub-par defense at a much easier 2B position, how can we expect him to perform well at the hot corner? #WorriedSoxFanHere
  9. Well... tomorrow is Wednesday. Albeit the 15th Wednesday since the free agency period began... but it's still Wednesday. Here's to hoping we can resurrect the #13 tomorrow.
  10. Hahaha! A “Lethal dose of poison!” has been injected into the AL central!! Sox fans are going crazy. Welcome to the sWo the Sox World Order. Who will be the next signing, Bryce? Markakis? Lol
  11. Rick Hahn’s kids are big WWE fans. It would be pretty awesome if Rick announced the signing during the first town hall meeting at Soxfest and Machado came out from behind the curtain in a Sox hat. It would be similar to an nWo recruitment right there.
  12. If the Machado camp is waiting for 10 years, 325 and we are at 7 years for 200, I think both the Machado camp & White Sox are simply in the middle of negotiations. I can see them meeting somewhere in the middle at 8 years, $280 million with potential bonus $$ that can reach as high as $300. Between that and an opt out after year 4 or 5, that would likely be too good for Machado to refuse. Get it done, Rick!
  13. The fact that Harper is still talking to the Nats is telling me that the market isn’t as strong for his services as once thought. At least the $$$ aspect to it. This can be a very good thing for the White Sox.
  14. I think Clark simply wants to be ‘the guy’ who claimed to break the news. He is claiming to have used his connections to the Orioles roster (Manny’s former team), as an intel to get leaked info. Manny already told his friends that he simply “prefers the Yankees” as MLB.com previous reported, but that doesn’t mean that will be the team he ends up with. It’s all about long term fit, $$$, and long term chance at winning. Morosi brings up wonderful points that favor the white Sox at the end of the video I posted.
  15. I find it extremely odd that this Clark guy is so certain that Machado is signing with the Yankees. According to Morosi on the MLB Network, Machado hasn’t event talked financial numbers and offers with the Phillies, Yankees or White Sox yet. http://mlb.com/r/article?ymd=20181228&content_id=297610378&vkey=news_mlb&c_id=mlb (watch the end of the video on top of page) Seems more and more that Clark is grasping at straws and hoping Machado does sign with his favorite childhood team. As of now, Clark looks foolish.
  16. The more and more this Clark guy talks, the less confident I am that he was right about his “intel”. Machado is still very much in the running for the White Sox. And according to Steve Phillips, so is Harper. (Probably more so) dont stop believing Sox fans....
  17. That’s a good point. And a wonderful problem to have. That team is going to be filthy good for a long time.
  18. Assuming MM does sign with NY. Who do they move in a deal? Gregorious to make room at SS or Andujar to make room at 3B? Granted they would’nt have to make this decision until Didi returns from the DL in June, still something to monitor going forward. I personally would love Andujar at 3B.
  19. Well I can’t really trust Hahn or KW to sign a whale. Other than the Cuban international signings, they have never done that.
  20. Bruce Levine said this morning on his “Inside the Clubhouse” show that Moncada will be the starting 3b for the White Sox. They are going to move Sanchez back to 2B until Madrigal is ready. To me that tells me that many of the local media members are pretty confident MM will sign elsewhere. It looks like their big moves have already been made. Alonso, McCain and Nova. Yay! From 62 wins to 68? Or is 68 wins a reach?
  21. Great post! I agree. The Yonder deal makes zero sense unless it was used as leverage to land Machado. If he does sign with NY, Hahn and co will once again look damn foolish. It will obviously be played as a potential “flip at the deadline” but I’m not buying that.
  22. So this Dick Clark guy may have just confused the “leaning toward the Yankees” report to it actually going down? Perhaps that’s what Machados former teammate just reiterated back to Dick Clark? I think it might be a case of the ‘ol “leaning toward” and “actually signing” confusion. Because we all know, Machado first preference is NY, but let’s be real... it’s all about the $$$$.
