  1. wow im glad i froze in that cold/wet weather to see them get pounded tonight! The offense is seriously horrible, no life, one dimensional and pathetic. Not to mention pretty boring.
  2. Well i know its still early but as of NOW, his work with Floyd, Danks and Contreras are looking evident. 1-5 the rotation has been solid. The bullpen has been above average. So yea i would like to say Coop has done a great job so far. Now only if we can get this level of consistency out of Walker and his 'sluggers'.
  3. FIRE WALKER!!! What the hell are you waiting for... this offense is HORRBLE!! How many loses does it take for the organization to realize it. Blame Uribe all you want, but he isn't doing much worse than Konerko, Thome, Cabrera, and Swisher. How the hell are all of those guys hitting .210 or less? Pathetic. Damn i love our pitching staff, what a waiste.... Nice job at fixing our Offense Kenny! And an even better way to stick behind your hitting coach Ozzie. Your dedication to ur amazing staff is breath taking. I hope we can at least win 73 games this year!! GO SOX!!
  4. Wow, already starting to talk about trading the veterans in early May? Yep looks like another looong season for being a Sox fan. I hate our lineup. I like our pitching, if we do continue to lose and fall out of contention, i do hope we trade guys like Contreras, Thome, Dye, and Uribe. Its time to re-stock that farm system and go from there.
  5. QUOTE (BearSox @ May 2, 2008 -> 09:55 PM) First thing we need to do with any lineup is make sure Uribe is far away from it. I'd keep the lineup vs. the righties pretty much the same, except replace Uribe with Ramirez. As for vs. lefties: 1. Swisher, CF 2. Cabrera, SS 3. Quentin, LF 4. Konerko, 1B 5. Thome, DH 6. Dye, RF 7. Pierzynski, C 8. Crede, 3B 9. Ozuna, 2B I made a similar lineup suggestion. Quentin simply needs to be up in the order... I think its time for Swisher to be moved down... He did well most of April but i think the stress leading off and the mindset of getting on base is wearing on him. (Wow i just sounded like Hawk there, scary). Konerko should hit 6th until he finds his goove. I like Thome 5th, that is where he should have started the year off, he is simply not the hitter he once was. I like Dye as our #3 hitter, it worked well in the World Series and during most of the playoff games in '05. I love Ozuna, but Ozzie wont play him every day at 2b. Its Uribe's job until Richar gets healthy, OR KW magicially aqcuires Roberts I guess these suggestions are all fine and dandy, but it starts with the firering of Walker- he has to go. This team needs a little more speed, and I want my boy Owens up here to lead things off, but there isn't room right now unless Thome or Paulie gets hurt, which is sad to say, but that probably wont hurt us much.
  6. QUOTE (Soxfest @ May 3, 2008 -> 04:44 PM) SOS since June 2006 for this team hitting wise! Its not good thats for sure. Changes have to be made. I would like to have my boy Owens up but how can you take Quentin out? He's a beast! Swisher probably does need to move down in the lineup afterall, his walks are are now down, and when that starts to happen his OBP will drop tremendously because he's not hitting up there. I hate how the coaching staff always defends Walker. The offense hasn't been good for almost 2 years now, I could care less if they are 'professionals' a change needs to be made and starts with the hitting coach. It pisses me off even more because the starting pitching has been awesome! The bullpen has been pretty solid as well. What a waiste....
  7. So Crede's errors cost the Sox both games... not that they were going to win these games anyway, since the offense is brutal, but this is not a good way to start May off. Hopefully Dye found his swing again... If I were Ozzie i would start considering a major lineup adjustment. For example: Swisher (no one else is really an option) Cabrera Dye (It looks like he has his timing back) Thome (May be better suited behind Dye) Quentin (Call me crazy, but how can you not put him up in the lineup the way he has been hitting!) Konerko (Paulie bat 6th, am i crazy!! Umm have you seen his average, moving him down does him and everyone else good) Pierzynski (He scuffling right now.. so he can stay here) Crede (He still swinging a good stick, so its good to have balance at the bottom of the order) Uribe (The easy out should hit where the pitcher does in the NL!) Ozzie has to do something... NOT sit on his hands like he did 2007.
  8. They will leave him stranded anyway... Thats what they do nowadays...
  9. Okay am I watching 2007 all over again? ONCE AGAIN! what a waiste of starting pitching. Our offense just is NOT good. When is Walker going to teach his hitters to ADJUST to a pitcher... Detroit or Cleveland will be in 1st by the time we come back home.
  10. Lets finish off April with a 15-11 mark and 1st place! Nobody would have thought... Our starting pitching has been solid almost all month long. If that can continue and our offense can come up with ways to drive runs in the clutch, we'll be okay.
  11. Im guessing he'll be ready to go by Tuesday vs Minny. Anderson has been playing good lately, no point to rush him back.
  12. I hate Ozzie's double header philosophy. Start the nobodies, use the junk out of our pen and take the loss in game 1. I wonder what our record is during double headers since Ozzie took over? Statboy can you hook that up...
  13. todays offense sucks.... what a waist of a solid start by Danks. Anytime we have Ramirez and Hall in there to go along with Uribe, you knows its going to be a long day.
  14. Its Flava FLOYD time! Can he keep it up and finally get a win other than a team vs Detroit... granit he should have won vs Baltamore. If he wins and keeps his ERA down again, theres no doubt he should be AL pitcher of the month. His current #'s: 2-0 with a 1.40 ERA in 19.1 innings. Thats pretty sick! Floyd the stopper?!? Hey, why not?
  15. its okay shut em down in the top half and lets get a 3-run walk off in the 9th!!
  16. I'm guessing he'll sign on with the Twins or Mariners. Hopefully its the Mariners. If he catches fire like he did in 2006, i don't want to face him 15 more times.... What ever happens i hope he finishes his career strong. This would be a bad way to end an outstanding career. Love him or hate him he was the best White Sox slugger of all time. Good luck Frank!
  17. QUOTE (iamshack @ Apr 17, 2008 -> 10:27 AM) Thanks for passing this along. I'm all in favor of re-signing Crede and trading Fields, but only under the circumstances that we trade him for a pre-arbitration player or prospects. Roberts is making $6.3 million this season and $9 million next season, and will undoubtedly be looking to cash in once he reaches free agency. Well you figure you can disperse that money that you would have spent on Hunter to extensions for Cabrera and Roberts. You also have to take into consideration that Thome will likely retire after this season- so you can use that money on re-signing Crede. Kenny usually finds ways to make something like this work.
  18. Listening to him on the Score right now. He mentioned that he talked to his buddy MacPhail from Baltamore and he said he stil believes Roberts will be dealt. He said MacPhail is in no hurry to trade his main attraction. However, if the right trade came along before the All-star break he wont hesistate to pull the trigger. He said if the Sox do trade for him it will have to be contingent on the Sox re-signing Crede during the 1st half ot the season. Meaning they can have the luxory of dealing Fields for Roberts. Thats a real stretch. To have Crede re-sign with the Sox before the ASB & to aquire Roberts. Im okay with the team the way it is now, but if we are in desperate mode for a true leadoff hitter come July than im for it!
  19. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Apr 16, 2008 -> 08:37 PM) The last time through our rotation, our whole pitching staff has an ERA of 0.8, and our Starters have an ERA of .74. Now thats impressive!! Keep it up Buerhle, Javy, Danksy, Josey and G-Floyd!
  20. The offense is pretty solid 1-8.. no need to take out Uribe at this point. His defense at 2B has been very solid. With him, O-Cab and Crede playing the way they are out on the field, why would u want to break that up? Thome and Contreras stepping it up today was very encouraging to see. I hope Floyd continues to pitch well tommorow. I am alittle worried that its not the Tigers though
  21. Until Thome finds it again it should be: Swisher, Cabrera, Dye, Konerko, Thome, Quentin, Pierzynski, Crede, Uribe. Thome should hit 5th no doubt about it.
  22. QUOTE (Brian @ Apr 14, 2008 -> 07:17 AM) How about 2 out of 2 this series? Sounds good to me.. i'll be at both of them C'mon Buerhle.. be your self and do your thing. Wouldn't it be sweet to have 3 consecutive shutouts? When was the last time that happend? Statman?
