Something I find cool. Yahoo! has pictures for the debate. All but three are from the actual debate. The other three are of students watching the debate. Where at the students? At my school. Yay GWU! I found that very cool. One of the Pictures, For Anyone Interested Also cool, is Good Morning America was there talking to students watching the debates. (Yeah, I wasn't there. My Thursdays are 11 hours long, I was too tired to go)
-
And that's exactly why I wasn't excited about the debate and don't think too much about the debates.
-
Well, good luck to you, sir. You'll be running against me...the incumbent
-
Oh...wow...that's embarassing.... Maybe I went to 10 games...or yeah...I don't know...it's been a long day...I'm going to go hide in embarassment now...
-
Way to go Mark! I'm so glad you're on our team.
-
I went to 9 games this year and my record was 6-4. This year was the first time in 3 years that I went to game that Buehrle lost.

Happy Birthday!

Well, my brother's old monitor used to turn green and purple at random times...we used to just hit the side to get it to go back to normal...It was a nice way to get out pent up anger and relieve stress...But, yeah, I would do what Tex said first...it seems like the smarter thing to do...

VIP Staffer at the Tweeter Center...even though you may think working there is really cool...it really isn't...it sucked...big time...
-
Nice job, Mark Buehrle! I was at the game tonight with 10 other people. It was a fun time, and it was great to see the win. Especially since my friend and I flew in from DC. Thanks to the Sox for making the game a good one!

Yeah, Kerry's so desparate to get people in to fill the place that he lets in hardcore Republicans and doesn't make them go through security. (Speaking on personal experience here.)
-
I don't know of anyone who is saying they're voting for Bush but really voting for Kerry. To be honest in my opinion, people who are saying that are just undecided. I go to one of the most political schools in the country and no one here is tired of defending Kerry. If someone is tired of defending their candidate, then apparently they don't feel too strongly about that candidate. I think you're right in that the Dems probably would be in a better position right now if Edwards was the candidate. As for Bush having a VP change and having it help him, I disagree. The Dems would have jumped all over that. It doesn't look very good when the president abandons the man second in line to run the country for someone new. It may have been done in the past, but things are different now. The new VP candidate would also be in a bad spot. Hmm, I know I haven't worded that really well...but my point is the attacks that would have come up due to his replacing Cheney would most likely be more damaging then just sticking with Cheney. Second, to answer Queen's question, the Presidential Debates are Sept 30, Oct 8, and Oct 13. The VP Debate is October 5. The last thing I wanted to say is in regard to the whole "flip-flop" issue with Kerry. It's true that the Reps are pointing out bills that looked to be very alike that he voted opposite on, and it's true that it was smaller things in the bill that caused him to change. But that's not the only thing the Reps are using for this. Kerry has done a lot of interviews, and if you go back and look at those interviews (espcially the interviews during the primaries), you'll notice that he was asked very similar questions and gave very different answers. Making it appear as though he was just saying whatever was popular at the time.

Well, I'm a little late, but if you don't mind a girl giving some advice I just wanted to say something. I definitely say try to become friends with her. If she's like any other college student, she's looking to meet new people. But since she has a boyfriend, be careful. Right now, she's probably trying really hard to maintain the relationship with her boyfriend, and although in all likelihood they will break up, let her figure out the relationship isn't working on her own. The point is if she starts having trouble with her boyfriend and you and her are close, she may try to blame you for the troubles because everything with her boyfriend was going fine and then she met you. Even though, the real reason the trouble is occuring is because of the long distance. Anyway, my point is just be cautious. Get to know her better and the boyfriend situation better before you try to make her aware that you want to be more than friends. That's just my two cents.

Who do you want to win the WS

Oakland (They're my second favorite team in baseball). But I'm also cheering for the Cards. So if it was either one of those, I'd be happy. -
I'll still be on winter break so I'll actually be able to go this year. I'm excited. It's going to be my first Soxfest.

Congrats to Paulie! Thanks for making tonight brightening up the night in this dark and disappointing season.

Happy Birthday!

Okay, I think you missed the rest of my post which showed that my main point was that Fox did that to grab readers attention...their headline was pretty much saying "Hey! Everyone else is talking about that but we got this too! So read us!" So many people here seem to think that the media's agenda is to serve the liberals or conservatives, Kerry or Bush, etc. When that's really not true, they could really care less about that. What is there number one priority? Oh yeah, viewers. They want the best ratings, and they'll do everything they can to get people to watch them even if it means making a headline out of a minor part of the story. News outlets do it all the time, not just Fox. How many times have you seen a preview for the 10 o'clock news and they say what's coming up and something grabs your attention. So you watch the news and that something ends up being a 10 second soundbite in a 1 minute story? You were disappointed, but you watched and that's all they wanted. That's what FoxNews did. It was cheap, but I guarantee you a LOT of people read that story. Heck, it caused an entire thread about it to be started here.
-
Hey, you know what else those headlines show?? They show that 3 out of those 4 media outlets decided to ignore part of the story because *gasp* it would help Bush. Sure, the Fox story may have only had one paragraph about the banned material but they did that to get you to read the article. Everyone else was saying the same thing so why read it? But Fox was pointing out another piece of the story instead of following everyone else. Hmmm, and I wonder why Fox is doing better than CNN...maybe because they're smarter?

Well, I'm a girl, so we're supposed to cry more, and well in 8th grade I was part of a bball team that never won a game and ended up losing one game with a score of 4-54. There was no crying from any the girls that year...More like laughter...Of course it didn't help that there were like 9 girls on the team...
-
It would be a tough pick. I think I'd just have to pretend like I didn't know what was going on. Sidenote: But I'm going to have to say Go A's!

Also, until the debates, a lot of these predictions are pretty weak. It's not so much the debate itself that will affect voters (seeing as how so many people don't even watch them). It'll be the media coverage after the debates that can have an affect. Think 2000 with the Gore/Bush debates. Gore technically won the debate but after the media emphasis on Gore's sighs and eye rolls, people began to say that Bush won the debate. I'm not saying the debates will completely change everything, I'm just saying that the post-debate time usually makes the predictions stronger and easier to believe.
