I can't go tonight because I have to work unless it rains in which case I will be very angry. But if anyone not going to the Sox game is looking to go to a baseball game, you could always go to see the Windy City Thunderbolts located in Midlothian, IL. That's where I work and it'll be fun, I promise. Double header tonight.

Just so you there are actually 538 electoral votes. The 23rd Amendment gave three votes to Washington, DC.

Sox vs. Philly GAME 3 - the official game thread
POTUSChris replied to knightni's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Cheer up guys, the Sox had never faced Madson before and look how that turned out. Let's not start believing that the Sox are cursed and never do well when seeing a pitcher for the first time. We'll start sounding like Cubs fans with talks about curses and that's almost as bad as losing. Let's go Sox! -
Great, great, artcle. Thanks! :fthecubs

I'm all about Subway myself...but I guess that's mainly cause it's on my meal plan at school and is the best food I can get on campus

Sox .vs Phills Game 2. MORE POUNDAGE PLEASE!!!
POTUSChris replied to NUKE_CLEVELAND's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Well, at least they only beat the Sox by 3 runs...doesn't make it look as bad as it was...Here's to kicking some butt tomorrow! -
Okay, now I understand. Even though that is stupid seeing as how the abortions would have to take place within 5 days of conception in order to get the stem cells...that'll happen Ugh, I'm a poli sci major, but those extremists in politics drive me craaaaaaazy

Hope you have a great day! Happy Birthday!!

I was there too, UD, sec 529. I don't really mind the UD, it's cheap...I like cheap...problem was I was with my mom who is afraid of heights, but she made it through the game just fine. Anyway, as for the commercial...That was freakin' AWESOME! That's the best one I've seen all year!!

Try not to BOTCH this one. Sox .vs. Phillies
POTUSChris replied to NUKE_CLEVELAND's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Awesome game tonight! I had a blast!! And there were no fights by me! Woo! I sat in the upper deck since the lower deck was sold out. Still tons of fun. So I've only been able to go to two games so far this season and combined the Sox have had 29 runs. That's awesome. -

I'm going to the game tonight...Hopefully I won't be near any fights...Last time I went to a game, there were fights all around me...no fun whatsoever... -
Oh, I knew how abortion entered into the debate on stem cell research. I was confused because I was getting the impression that some people thought that in order to obtain the stem cells an abortion had to be done. But I may have just misread people.
-
That's cool too. Thanks!
-
I'm a little confused by this discussion. Stem cells do not come from abortions, but the abortion debate is brought into the stem cell debate because in order to do the research the embryo is killed and thus killing the chance of a baby developing. The embryos are usually only about 4 - 5 days old and come from infertility clinics that were using the embryos for in vitro fertilization. Some parents when they no longer need the embryos will donate them to stem cell research. So stem cells do not come from abortions. In fact by the time a woman has an abortion, there are no longer any stem cells left. So anyway, I don't mean to seem like a know it all, but I learned about this stuff in anatomy a few years ago and just thought that maybe a little more information would help some of you choose a position. If you want to know more about Stem Cells, go here

Until the conventions polling numbers are just going to be up and down which is a big reason why you can't really believe what they say. But I'm looking forward to seeing the polling numbers after the conventions and to see how much of a bump each candidate will receive after their convention. Needless to say, this will still be a close election. Fuuuun...

That's great, knight! I love it! Thank you!

Hmm, players that I would like to see on a sig: Buehrle, Cotts, Konerko (If you can't use them all, at least Buehrle) If you somehow come up with a way to include Harry Potter that would be really cool...but if not it's cool. I hope that gives you enough to work with...if not let me know. I'm looking forward to seeing what you come up. Thanks a bunch!
-
That's really funny. Nice job!
-
If you want to, you can make me a sig. Let me know if you're interested. Thanks!

Hey, I go to school in DC and I've been there when the federal government has shut down. Your parents will still be able to visit the monuments, but they may not be able to go into the Washington Monument. You can check the National Park Service website for more info (www.nps.gov) Walking to all the monuments can usually take a whole day, so that's what I would do. But the museums should still be open since it's not federal employees. Hope that helps and hope they enjoy their trip. As for Reagan and the day of mourning. President Reagan did a lot for the country. Let's face it, he essentially ended the Cold War. So I see no problem with the government shutting down. It's they're way of honoring the man. (and just so you know, even if the government didn't shut down President Bush would still be at the funeral) Also, practically the entire country shut down after JFK died...yes I know it's different, but it shows that this is the first time it's happened. Lastly, he will be lying in state in the US Capitol and that is a huge honor. Only 9 other presidents have lain in state in the Rotunda (and there's a little bit of trivia from a former Capitol tour guide ).

Well, I'm in the same boat as BeGood...I've never seen either of them...oops...oh well
