QUOTE(RibbieRubarb @ Jan 28, 2005 -> 05:51 PM) I think that might be only 5 degrees, but I'll let it slide Oops, sorry, did not read the rules well enough I guess. Whenever I've played the game it's 6 Degrees or Less.

Your baseball class sounds really cool. So far my classes here at Ol' G-Dub this semester haven't excited me too much. PSC 118 - Legislative Politics ANTH 154 - Illness, Healing, and Culture PSC 130 - Comparative Politics of Western Europe PSYC 001 - General Psychology PSC 192 - Constitutionalism So far all those classes involve is a lot of reading and since I'm interning and working 22 hours a week that really kinda sucks. Oh well, at least this is my second to last semester.

QUOTE(JUGGERNAUT @ Jan 25, 2005 -> 06:54 PM) Knowing how rapidly nanotech is progressing if I were put into a vegetative state & my condition was not deteriorating and remained stable I would want to remain alive. How do they know she can not dream? We dream subconsciously sometimes at levels which can not be detected. Clinical research has proven this to be true. Who has the right to terminate another's dreams? They tried some of that technology on my aunt. She started to show some improvement.

I thought that since I've been sort of a part of a similar situation that I would comment. Really, the main thing is it's really easy now to say that if you were in a similar situation as this family you could "put someone out of their misery." But when you're really in that situation, it's not so easy. My aunt was in a vegetative state and although I didn't really have power over whether or not to keep her alive, I am close to my uncle and cousins who did have to consider it. The point is every eye blink, every slight movement, every time she seemed to recognize what was going on, you had some hope that maybe she would get better. Even though every doctor told you different, you hoped and prayed for a miracle. The point is I loved and adored my aunt dearly and I couldn't even imagine making that decision which is why my uncle never did. Anyway, just thought I'd say something about it since I sort of know what it's like.

It snowed here in DC today...not nearly as bad as you guys got...but to DC natives, it's horrible...in fact, the Weather Channel was telling people in DC that if they went outside they were "risking their lives."

QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Jan 22, 2005 -> 02:57 PM) Great pics POTUS. Going to the inauguration had to be incredible. Thanks! It was an awesome experience. I was really excited that I could actually see what was going on, since I was thinking I'd get stuck behind a tree or something.

QUOTE(aboz56 @ Jan 21, 2005 -> 08:48 PM) Thanks and a lot and I can't express how happy I am for four more years. I totally agree with you.

QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Jan 21, 2005 -> 06:11 PM) Those are some really cool pictures. Thanks. I took a ton more and put more on my website, but those were some of my faves.

Hey guys! I went to the Inauguration yesterday, and I thought I would share some of my pictures with you in case there are other political nerds here like me. I didn't see a thread for yesterday's events so I hope it's cool that I started one. Anyhoo, I was at the Oath of Office. My friends and I stood about 150 - 200 feet from the President which was awesome considering I didn't even have tickets until late Sunday night. I also went to the parade which was fun but cold. All of the pictures are pretty big especially the second one. President Bush taking the Oath of Office President Bush giving his inaugural speech President's limo Enjoy!

I don't know about the rest of you but I waited three hours cause I was hungry and the nearest thing I could find that I could afford. Also, I guess this summer I'll have to try to hook up with some of you at games. I'm sure it'll be an awesome time.

QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Jan 19, 2005 -> 08:07 PM) You should have said something. We really are a friendly group, dispite what the Connies staff did to change that. I should have, but like I said I can be pretty shy. Also, I was hungry, tired, and annoyed, not a good combination... So you see, I spared y'all from pissed off Chris...a very scary thing

QUOTE(aboz56 @ Jan 18, 2005 -> 03:24 PM) I would pay to fire the entire management staff at Connie's Pizza. I'm with you on that one. It took about 3 hours to get a table and there were 3 of us. It sucked. Actually, I think I saw you guys there, I was too shy to say anything, but I could tell that you guys were as annoyed as we were.

They did the same thing last year. -
I'll be there with my friend and her brother. It's my first Soxfest so I'm looking forward to it. Maybe I'll meet some of you fellow Soxtalkers.

The entrance song is actually a song from the soundtrack for Speed. I read it in an article a few months ago.
