One of the worst Sox losses I've ever witnessed
MEANS replied to Buehrle>Wood's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Don't know why anybody is surprised at this game, we've been losing every Saturday game all season, we always find a way to lose them, even when comfortably ahead. 0-10 on Saturday -
QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 26, 2014 -> 08:52 PM) half asleep and going back and drifting back and forth between half sleeping and consciousness. and now I understand your posts/tangents.....

QUOTE (greg775 @ May 27, 2014 -> 02:14 AM) Team is gonna have to win, win, win for the Sox to draw. You know that, Caufield. .500 is nice but not enough to bring most people out more than once or twice all year (unless they find free tix). I KNOW there are bargains. Nobody wants to sit in the upper tank (even though some of you say they are good seats). People want good seats and they don't want to spend money on a baseball game more than a time or two all year. It's like an outing to Great America. Same deal. That's my line and I'm sticking with it. so glad you KNOW what all these people think. the upper deck are not bad seats and my wife and I have made the trek up from Indy numerous times per year (we even drive back the same day) so no we don't WANT good seats, most in the park are good enough, we'll spend a little extra on one game and get "Good" seats but that doesn't change the experience. and we do want to spend money on baseball games, so that's why we fly out to Spring Training for the past 8 years and also attend about 4-5 games each summer in Chicago while driving up from Indy. Stop acting like you know, cause really you don't.

I watch, I'm a few episodes behind but look forward to watching remaining episodes.

this site is really getting hard to enjoy when the same people argue over and over and over in multiple threads...

keep grasping....

Have you seen Reed this year? Have you watched the 3rd base position for the Sox over the past couple of years? Um yes we NEED a real 3rd baseman. If so, you wouldn't think our GM was on drugs when he made this trade.

they also haven't won a game on a saturday yet either

Maddon praises hell out of Abreu/"new" Sox line-up

QUOTE (greg775 @ Apr 29, 2014 -> 03:25 PM) Is it hyperbolic to say we haven't had a play like that since winning the WS? Can you remember a player that smart and aggressive? Oh we may have gotten lucky with the 3B coach waving a guy in ill-advised but that Eaton play was special. pretty sure AJ made some similar heads up base running moves post 2005.... -
Ming the Mercilous! pretty good list so far, some relative unknowns which should be good, plus the OT characters to pass the torch on. Still was hoping for Jacen, Jaina, and Anakin Solo....and Ben Skywalker

14 vs 3 LOB today....ugh -
QUOTE (shakes @ Apr 24, 2014 -> 01:05 PM) That he, like everyone else needs time to adjust. Simple. And that this is the perfect season to give him time to make these adjustments. The lack of patience for young players around here is astounding. Especially, when the patience is there for a player who has already proven that he is not a good player. stop man you're making too much sense!

Why is it so hard for people to accept and understand his role this season? These same people will call him a class act but actually suggest him hanging it up mid season? WTF? Unless he get's hurt he not hanging it up mid season, and even then I'm sure he would be in the clubhouse helping mentor the younger guys.

I think just being around a new guy with that much hype has kinda woken those two up a bit. Before that they were the new guys on a team with vets. Now they see Abreu come in and feel like they can be a part of this too. Almost like, hey don't forget about us, we can play too. Whatever it is, I'm glad those two have gotten off to a good start.

good news to hear.

QUOTE (greg775 @ Apr 18, 2014 -> 04:05 PM) My point is I don't remember this ever happening? If anybody can give me an example of a team throwing an infielder out there in a tie game, I'm listening.I'm saying this is a monumental managing mistake. Teams just don't do this. so u started a thread b/c you can't remembered or do some research on your own? WHO CARES

Why does he include PK when saying "Their departures marked the end of an era for a franchise..." when he's talking about PK and AJ?

QUOTE (TheTruth05 @ Apr 11, 2014 -> 08:42 AM) Everytime Nick Swisher comes to bat I want him to be plunked. Sorry I just had to get that off my chest. you are not the only one.

QUOTE (greg775 @ Apr 10, 2014 -> 03:13 PM) That poster who said Piersall hates outfielders diving for the ball intrigued me. If it is frowned upon, shame on the Sox for not instructing their guys better. Garcia's career now in serious jeopardy. Just another guy to fill one of baseball's DH spots now if he can hit well enough. would you calm the f down? all you do is post doom and gloom (the undertone in all your posts are like this) surprised you haven't blamed Robin or Dunn for this.

ESPN article on Sale, pitching, mechanics, etc.
MEANS replied to Balta1701's topic in Pale Hose Talk
QUOTE (greg775 @ Apr 6, 2014 -> 11:14 PM) PTATC ... from your knowledge, how long before Sale has a serious arm injury? Royals announcer Jeff Montgomery said his pitching motion is a total recipe for disaster. Did you even read the article? -
QUOTE (greg775 @ Apr 7, 2014 -> 12:52 AM) I just don't see it, especially with no closer. I just don't see us closing out many games. For instance, I'm glad the boys got four insurance runs today because no way our closer would have held KC in the ninth. Now Sale ... he might have come out in the ninth and he coulda finished off KC, but not our closer. so which is it? Do we have a closer or don't we? Last time I check his name was Lindstrom and he came in yesterday and closed the game. Now it may have not been a save situation and he still gave up a run but he did his job.
