  1. As much as I hate signing a RHB like Trevor Story who has been more of a SS than 2b, can't we just do that? Story is an insane talent and while we'd need to get some left handed hitters in our lineup at some point -- he is free of prospect cost and would instantly make us a more dynamic team.
  2. Where would you rank the White Sox Organization? Basically middle of both economic and intellect? I'd kinda say middle of economic and low on intellect.
  3. Yo! Thanks for this. I think it's a good idea.
  4. This is such an interesting, dynamic topic. In theory, there's solutions that should benefit both and create a great baseball atmosphere. In reality, it's a fight of capitalistic greed and the amount of propaganda that comes out from both sides clouds everything and creates the social environment that we see on the topic. On top of this, there's SO many issues at play here and each issue seems like both sides are not budging. Just to name a few of the issues off the top of my tiny brain... - Expanded Playoffs - NL DH -Free agency -Service time Manipulation -League min. Contracts -Salaray caps/floors -MLB Rules (changing baseballs, runner on 2nd, etc.) crazy
  5. We should just do Story.. Fuck, Baez would have been a good option too at what he got. Story isn't our ideal fit, but he is a legit talent especially compared to everything else.
  6. Plz grab conforto and story and ill consider offseason a massive win
  7. Yes, its truly a pathetic standard from our organization
  8. Hmm let's see... if Javier Baez goes 6/140, can we get Trevor Story for 6/140? how about 7/160?
  9. I'm so sick of being let down every single offseason by whacky moves and general unwillingness to offer any sort of big contracts to players. For me, Trevor Story is likely the biggest value of the season. At only age 29 (relative to Semien age 31, Starlin Marte age 33) he offers a bit of free agent youth and he's coming off a down year and also has the negativity around him with Colorado. However, this guy has posted elite seasons. The only downside for us is that he is a right handed batter and we don't really need that. Corey Seager (age 28) would be the best possible free agent get we could ask for, however I'm not sure if he'd play 2b for us and he's also more likely to get an insane contract I think. Even Javier Baez (age 29) would be an awesome get for us with his electric attitude and defensive abilities at 2b or SS. Again, being right handed isn't ideal for our team set up, but he'd definitely solve 2b for us. Right now, I'm really hoping the White Sox surprise us and get involved on one of these three. Im sick of them not spending and I'm sick of our hole at 2b. Pairing one of them with an OF like Castellanos or more likely Conforto would make the offseason grade a solid A or A+. Adding those additions with a decent/good SP and maybe Tepera? A+. What do I fully expect? I expect them to sign tepera, find some off-the-wall 2b journeyman contract, and sign a pretty awful OF to fill the holes. My expectations are pretty much a "D" or "F" offseason grade. It sucks, probably the worst thing about being a White Sox Fan.
  10. Robbie Ray is probably leaving TOR, so this isn't really an 'addition'. Also, I fear for Gausman in the AL east again. This move is definitely a good thing for the pitching-needy toronto blue jays, but I'm not really worried about it and i'm not bullish on Gausman going forward.
  11. NYM must be posting crazy money for him
  12. Gimmie story, conforto and a sp and we ready
  13. I don’t want to use our ever so limited money on friggen robbie ray and semien. Theyll both probably suck. give me seager or scherzer or a couple mid level sp or correa or something of actual quality and not a fluke
  14. Resign tepera and do whatever you want with kimbrel and i think our bullpen is A+ grade going i to the year, costs be damned
  15. With all due respect, this is one of the worst ideas I’ve heard. so you want to trade our studs AND spend a huge amount of money on a guy who is chronically injured?? look, i adore buxton and would be floored to have him play for us. But why wouldn’t we just keep our dudes and sign a stud of for the money?? Or if we were going to trade them, why not trade them for a guy who isn’t about to hit free agency and stays on the field?
  16. My perfect off-season.. sign stroman to a 5 yr deal extend giolitto sign conforto to a few year deal 2b is very tough… ideally id get seager or story but that’s not going to happen. Semiem would be good to, but ud rather not spend high money on him. So maybe chris taylor?
  17. Id love verlander, but i put a 0.001% chance on it that the wsox get him. I think our interest stops after we realize it will be a contract longer than one year. id much prefer using the money to sign stroman to a 5 year deal. That guy has tim anderson esque flair on the mound and continues to recreate himself as a stud sp.
  18. I'm going on record of saying I'd be pretty happy with a Conforto signing. We need Left handed hitters. I'd be more happy going after Corey Seager. I'd be very upset if we bargain bin shop again for Eaton-Mazaraa types. It's ok to Bargain bin for a 4th OF, but not for your starting option! I'm also on record of being unhappy with Keuchel, Eaton, Mazarra, Kimbrel trade, Cesar trade. I was lukewarm on the Lynn trade, didn't love it - didn't hate it, but turned out to be awesome. I was happy with Liam Hendricks signing and Yasmani. Overall, mostly unhappy with how the white sox trade deadline and offseasons have gone. But it could be worse.. we could be the A's or the Reds who are competitive and selling off their players.
  19. Haha, in all seriousness -- I do think the Tigers are very very close to be competitive with us. A shortstop signing and if the CBA goes well in favor of prospects (meaning Torkelson + Riley could be up opening day) would go a long way for them. Their pitching staff can go from mediocre/good to great really fast. E-Rod is a great signing -- his underlying stats look good. Mize/Tarik could go off and Manning is not dead yet -- he can be there Giolito/Cease transformation year over year (although not as high ceiling IMO). Tork + Correa + Riley Greene + maybe another signing and their offense becomes competitive. DET more scary than any other team in the division for us IMO.
