  1. Only 6'2? I guess he could be the point guard.
  2. From some articles I've read on Griffith, I would expect to sign him away from Florida International. But it will probably cost around supplemental 1st round pick money, which is probably going to be doable with Poreda being one of the easier signs most likely of the 1st round.
  3. Mark was actually 38th round, and was one of the draft and follows that are now gone I believe starting this year. I would venture to guess that if you can get 30 of your 50 picks signed, you have done well, and if you can get 15 of those picks to venture into high A and above then you have done well.
  4. Our 8th round selection Lyndon Estill is fun to watch. Reminds me of Vlad in his style and raw talent, but just isn't there with his output. Not saying he's as good as Vlad was at 21, not even close, but they have a similar style.
  5. I'm really liking our 9th and 10th round selections. Kenneth Gilbert is smooth all-around lefty.
  6. Seems like we are trying to build a basketball team with our pitching selections so far.
  7. Worst bullpen ERA in baseball, worst offense in baseball, aren't we lucky.
  8. Yeah that one's great as well. Gotta love voiceovers.
  9. Monkey thing reminded me of this one, not sure if it's been posted yet.
  10. http://media.www.thenortherner.com/media/s...s-2783086.shtml Stinking Andrew Carignon goes right after.
  11. Makes the pick a little better for me to know that Poreda won't be 21 until October. We could have done worse. Now I really get to pray that Porcello makes it to UNC.
  12. Not sure how TV will affect the first round, but it's usually 10-20 seconds in between picks.
  13. Stay away from the UNC recruits. I'm personally hoping Brackman is our choice. 6'10, 230 pounds with a mid 90's fastball. Has has a tired arm lately, but you could expect that from a 21 year old that has been trying to play basketball and baseball full time for a few years now. Draft him, let his arm rest, and let him do his damage next year moving through the system. Doesn't turn 22 until December.
  14. Durant would have been lucky to be able to lift the bar in high school. Tracy McGrady was another with no strength at that age.
  15. Florida just has to be absolutely drooling. Now if they can get Urban Meyer banned from the NFL, they are set for life.
  16. I never understood calling Day up period, but especially when guys like Vasquez, Wing, and even Oneli Perez had/have better numbers on the same roster. Heck Fernando Hernandez was having a better season as well in the Pen for the Barons.
  17. Agree 100% southside, great to see I'm not alone.
  18. I thoroughly enjoy watching AJ half-ass it down the line each at-bat. Just love it.
  19. Outside of ECU, I love those matchups. Playing UNC in any sport is ECU fan's World Series, or Super Bowl or whatever you want to call it.
  20. Hawk finally had to move on from Casey Rogowski. After Collaro, it will probably be Brandon Allen because he's a "big, strong guy" as well.
  21. Interesting, I hope so. I like what I see in him. 7' 220, runs the floor very well for a 7 footer and has been flying up the rankings. UNC has won their last two championships lead by Indiana big men(Eric Montross, Sean May), so maybe the trend can continue :-).
  22. UNC just offered Tyler Zeller right before the start of the TOC yesterday, should be an interesting recruitment.
  23. 56 K's, 9 walks in 48 games, what's wrong with that?
  24. You make some good points, but I have to disagree with a few. Weights are one of the few ways you can actually improve your quickness and speed. Sprinters lift heavy weights in short durations to improve their burst while distance runners lift lower weights with more repetitions to improve stamina. No, having a bodybuilders physique is not good for any athlete, but you can have a ripped body as long as you implement stretching and flexibility with your repetitions. As for free weights, it's a great way to build up muscles in your body that wouldn't be normally worked by machines. There's no need to start out with heavy free weights to hurt yourself, start out with something easier like 5-10 pounds and build from there. There's nothing wrong with machine weights to supplement your routine either, I'm not saying that. But as others have said, learn the proper technique for each motion, not only for safety, but also the proper technique will help you gain muscle and burn fat quicker. Also, stay away from Trans fats as much as possible, and Polysaturated fats can actually be good for your muscle growth as odd as that sounds.
