I was wrong, he DOES belong in the NBA.

I think they are trying to get back to their roots, when they first began, by showing all kinds of odd "sports". Not very appealing to me, but hey, they don't have any competition, so they can do what they want unfortunately.

Official Soxtalk 2006 World Cup Thread

Granted, I'm no soccer expert, but here's my view on the game. 1. Our first touches are horrible. No control, which leads to a bad possession. 2. They were very tentative when within CR territory, especially Convey 3. We don't have much size at all, headers are almost always less than 50-50 for us. When you combine all that, we didn't belong on the field today. -
I'm having a REAL hard time feeling sorry for him right now. This is the same guy that defended Kellen Winslow Jr. for not wearing his helmet on the injury that almost cost him his career. Then he re-buffed Cowhers, and the entire Steeler organziation's attempts to beg Ben to atleast wear a helmet, if not stop riding his motorcycle.

Official NBA Playoffs Thread

Shaq and Wade were on hot streaks during the playoffs, offensively and defensively, and the Heat play on a completely different level at home, so this series isn't quite over yet. Guys like Posey, Williams, and Antoine Walker have all caught fire at different times in the playoffs, and have been pathetic so far. On a sidenote, PLEASE stop playing Gary Payton, it's sad how much he has declined over the past few years. He's more like "The Thimble" now. -
For those following the Barons, what's going on with Valido this year? I would make a joke that the steroids must be wearing off, but I really want to believe him that he has always been clean. I was so excited when we drafted him and have always felt he was our best infield prospect in a long time.

Even as a Heat fan, I can't help but smile when I think about Riley losing another series, taking Antoine Walker and the gang down with him. It's tough being a fan of a team when there's on one player (Wade) that you even like on the current roster. -
That was an amazing game Rex. I couldn't believe the ending. Chad Flack had the game of his life. First a deep, deep, 3 run bomb over the scoreboard in left to give Carolina their first lead, and then the game winning opposite field shot to end it with 2 outs. Tommy Hunter is a helluva freshmen pitcher, he showed alot of guts. Everything is clicking for UNC at the right time. They are a team led by freshmen and sophomores on offense, that has been on fire. Looks like a match-up with Fullerton is up next.

I can tell you this as well, UNC is NOT recruiting Derrick Rose right now. For whatever reasons. -

I don't think it should be a big deal having a seperate thread on him, as he's an Illini recruit and a special talent. If the Illini can bring him in alongside Eric Gordon, you will have one of the best backcourts in the nation, for at least a year. I think he will be a brilliant PG that can overmatch opposing PG's with his athletecism and size. If he stops growing, I think he would be in the Gilbert Arenas mold. -
McNair Bound For Baltimore
Palehosefan replied to greasywheels121's topic in A and J's Olde Tyme Sports Pub
As a Steelers fan, I know the division is going to be hell next year. As long as Palmer comes back, which I'm praying he can, and with McNair at QB for the Ravens, it's going to be nasty. Thank God the Browns are still in the division. -
"I'm sick of starring at the computer for two days." A little high on yourself aren't you . lol, but seriously you guys have done a great job as usual.
-
Oh ok, thanks.
-
lol Heads, I hope you weren't referring to me when you said Tampa not Tampa Bay. I was speaking of the University of Tampa's pitchers having low era's.
-
Well, at the time I wasn't able to sweat much of the water out either, as I didn't have an outlet to work out like I do now.
-
Jason, you sure it was an offensive league? Tampa's pitchers have alot of low era's. I didn't check other teams stats though.

I drink alot of water, I just can't take as much as I used to. I used to drink 120+ ounces of water a day, but making 10 trips a day to the bathroom lost it's luster.

College to NFL position changes

Quite a few guys trying to follow in Gates footsteps this year. Jai Lucas of George Mason, and Ed Nelson of UConn just to name a few his year. -
Wow, Lee Cruz's numbers are insane. Playing on D2 champions University of Tampa. 26 homers, 97 rbi's, 430+ average.
-
Love this Chris Duffy pick, if we can sign him. Has a strong arm at 3B, and a smooth lefty stroke, somewhat reminds me of David Ortiz's swing.

Rondo's shot has been improving, especially in the workouts. Rondo would never be a main option offensive wise, when he would have Bell, Diaw, Thomas, Marion, Stoudemire, etc to give the ball to. His main asset is his speed, driving ability, and defense, which the Suns would covet. -
Reves is a very good pick. He also threw out 65% of potential base stealers, on top of his power. It's just that nobody pays much attention to baseball here, unfortunately.
-
Matt is still coming back from TJ surgery from 04, so his stuff COULD improve. I'm just hoping he can be a solid set-up man, as long as Jenks is here.
