  1. From his video, and granted it's tough to tell, but it looks like his fastball has a tailing motion on it, in on righties hands.
  2. I like Guillermo's athletic ability, but I see him as a tweener. I can't see him playing PG successfully in the NBA. Rajon Rondo would be a good fit for the Suns with his athletic ability and profinity for the transition game, which he never could get into at UK. Another possible good fit to me would be Will Blalock, and they could even trade down to the very bottom of the 1st and likely pick him up, instead of having to trade up for someone like Rondo.
  3. True, but TTU wasn't chopped liver at the time, coming off of a 9-3 season in the SW conference in football with Zach Thomas and Marcus Coleman on the squad, and was solid in academics. Baylor on the other hand, was an coat-tailer in every way sports wise.
  4. Yeah, Texas got tired of dominating just A&M, so they needed another whipping boy, and here we are.
  5. I just want to know when it will be in Lubbock. They can make a rule that everyone who comes to the games has to come and plant a tree first, and then teach somebody how to drive the speed limit and use turn signals, not that I'm bitter or anything.
  6. I'm no expert, but I'm your size (6'2 190) and I have the same problem. I've been doing some research on it and I have come to the realization that stomach exercises aren't really the answer. Everyone has ab muscles, but you have to be thin enough for them to show through. Stomach exercises would make them more defined, but for it to even show up, you have to be thinner. Otherwise you are just making your muscles stronger in your stomach, but you will never see them. So I'm really trying to watch my calories, and run alot, and see what happens, along with some ab exercises at the gym in case I ever do see them :-) I've also heard that alot of calcium can help you lose weight in the stomach area, and I eat alot of cereal, but now I also take two calcium pills a day as well. Granted, I could be wrong, but this is what I'm going with for now.
  7. Grant Hill's huge salary will be coming off the books after next year, so he will be a very valuable trading asset. That trade seems to be fair on both sides, as long as Grant can give the Suns around 20-30 games next season, and Arroyo would be a solid back-up for those rare minutes that Nash is out. With Brian Grant's contract coming off the books this year, the Suns could still add another part to the team, possibly another big man.
  8. To play Devil's advocate, the Texas schools do make up 33% of the Big 12 conference, so it would make sense to put the tourney in the state with the most schools in the conference and the largest population both state and city wise(Dallas). Though a rotating location would be more fair to the other schools, similarly to the ACC rotating between Charlotte, Greenville, Tampa, and Atlanta.
  9. Ronald Curry was becoming a very good WR for the Raiders before blowing out his second achiles last year, thankfully he's progressing very well. He was quite possibly the best high school player in history and overshadowed Mike Vick who was in the same state and played the same position, and Curry played QB his entire college career at UNC. Joey Porter and Clark Haggans were bookends at Colorado State, before developing into LB's for the Steelers. Otherwise I can't think of too many other guys outside of the ones you mentioned as well.
  10. http://scout.scout.com/a.z?s=75&p=8&c=1&nid=2476337 UConn gets huge recruit, literally. 7'3 Hasheem Thabeet pick's UConn today, he's the 39th ranked player in the 06 class, and will get immediate playing time with all the departures.
  11. http://footballrecruiting.rivals.com/ Rivals has been coming out with their 27 5 star players for the 2007 class. UNC has one of the 27 in Dwight Jones, and might have 2 tomorrow if Mike Paulus is on the list. Not that anyone else cares, but I do like to talk to myself.
  12. My quotes were from May 30th by Jeff Goodman from Scout.com, weird situation apparently.
  13. Maybe not so fast on Phil Jones to IU... http://scout.scout.com/a.z?s=75&p=9&cfg=bb...2007&cid=535505 The UConn visit would be the only thing worrying me if I were an IU fan.
  14. I know, I still can't believe this sports year. Thank God all of the teams look good for next year/this year as well.
  15. Yes I am, and I live in Texas as well, so I'm somewhat of a Mav's fan as well, especially with Stackhouse on the roster ;-).
  16. I think my head would explode if that could happen.
  17. You guys are doing a great job with all the updates, the site just keeps improving and that's why you keep getting more and more hits. That and the fact alot of new users are secretly hoping for more pictures of Jason's beard I'm sure.
  18. Not if I come down there and rob you of them first.
  19. 1. Of course I'm a Texas Tech homer. 2. Texas Tech will contend for the Big 12 title this year. The two normal powerhouses in OU and UT have some questions at key positions, mainly QB. TTU also gets Texas at home and will have to play at OU, which will probably be a loss. However, no team really stands above the others. TTU also has their most talented QB yet in Graham Harrell, and more importantly they have their best defense yet. It should be a 3 way fight for the South, and the closest battle yet.
  20. I was right in that Pat Bostick was almost a lock for Pitt, and today he made sure of it by committing to them. He's a great pick-up for the Panthers. Another top 10 QB off the boards.
  21. Here's how I see it shaking out right now. Nov 27: Michigan at North Carolina State Nov 28: Indiana at Duke Maryland at Illinois Florida State at Wisconsin Penn State at Georgia Tech Miami at Northwestern Nov 29: Virginia at Purdue Michigan State at Boston College Iowa at Virginia Tech Ohio State at North Carolina Clemson at Minnesota Big 10: 5 ACC: 6 I'm expecting this to be the closest matchup yet, which isn't saying much :-P. Maryland vs Illinois, FSU at Wisconsin, Miami at Northwestern, MSU at BC, OSU at NC, and Clemson at Minnesota on paper should be great games and toss-ups in most cases. OSU at UNC, Ohio State's freshmen are awesome, as David Lighty is one of the most underrated players in the class. But OSU is going to need help from guys like Butler, Lewis, and Terwilliger to battle UNC's depth and style. Also, both Othella Hunter and Terwilliger are going to have to give OSU nice minutes, as Oden is going to get pounded by several big bodies. Alex Stepheson is one of about a handful of players in high school that matched up with Oden 1 on 1 fairly well, as Stepheson is a workout warrior and very athletic as well. UNC has Hansbrough, Alex Stepheson, Brandan Wright, Deon Thompson, and Mike Copeland to throw at Oden. Here's how I see the two lineups comparing with an intrinsic bias towards UNC I'm sure. UNC OSU PG. Lawson/QT/Frasor vs. Butler/Conley/Mayes EVEN for now SG. Ellington/Ginyard/Frasor vs. Lewis/Cook OSU slightly SF. Terry/Green vs. Lighty/Harris UNC with experience PF. Wright/Thompson/Copeland vs. Hunter/Terwilliger UNC slightly C. Hansbrough/Stepheson vs. Oden/Terwilliger EVEN Oden definitely has a chance to give OSU the edge at center, but both players at NPOY candidates, and Oden has to prove it for now. Yes, I realize UNC will have to double team Oden when he's in the paint. But Stepheson is long, athletic, and very strong, and did a nice job guarding Oden in their matchup.
  22. I really don't know a nicer way of putting this, but Marvin Austin isn't the kind of student/athlete that ND looks for. If there was ever a Warren Sapp clone, its Marvin Austin. Marvin never stops running his mouth with self-praise.
  23. I like that alot, the background fits well. The only things I would change are the font on the left side, and make the statistics text stand out more. Just thinking out loud, but if you can, see what the picture looks like with a royal blue background with the same effect, and brighter white text for your wording.
  24. Alot of the top QB's in the nation have already chosen, guys like Claussen, Korn, Mallett, Paulus, Brantley, Forcier, Lalich, etc have started the domino effect and it should end up with a few more commitments pretty soon as QB spots are running out. With Pat Bostick almost a lock for Pittsburgh and could commit anytime, you could have 4 of the top 5 and as much as 8 of the top 10 gone before June rolls around.
