  1. I disagree, what a shock huh :-). I actually think the Big 12 will be the best conference in America next year. It's amazing the amount of talent that should return next year, as well as the new additions. Top to bottom the league should be competitive and in my opinion could get 5-6 teams in the tourney pretty easy. Kansas and Texas will be top 10 in pre-season. Texas A&M, Nebraska, Texas Tech, K-State, OU, ISU, and OSU could/should challenge for atleast a +.500 season, and quite a few of those have tourney potential. Even Baylor will have a talented squad, but should be at the back again this year.
  2. Both left for different reasons. Guthridge wasn't recruiting worth a crap, which is what led to UNC's dark ages of the early 2000's. He just wasn't up to being a full-time coach after all the years, but he was a hell of an X's and O's man, and dominated with Dean's recruited players. Doherty's was much, much worse. He was abusive as a coach, and as a person. He treated everyone around the program like crap, especially the long-time secretaries. He threw chairs in the locker room, and basically took his position for granted. There were several high profile players that were ready to transfer if he wasn't relieved of his job. He's made ALOT of lifetime enemies as UNC fans, and not even for his teams inconsistent play. Hopefully he's maturing down in Florida, and I wish him the best. I just don't want him anywhere near UNC again.
  3. http://mb21.scout.com/fmaryland43696frm6.s...cID=63187.topic Hilarious. I really liked the Custer picture.
  4. 1997-98 UNC team should be in the talks. 34-4 with a final four appearance. PG. Ed Cota(3rd in NCAA history in assists) SG. Shammond Williams(solid NBA career) SF. Vince Carter PF. Antawn Jamison C. Maktar Ndiaye Bench. Brendan Haywood Ademola Okulaja(very solid foreign career) Brian Bersticker Max Owens Two NBA stars, two pretty decent NBA players, and 3 other guys(Cota, Okulaja, Ndiaye) who have spent time in NBA camps and have had great overseas careers.
  5. Yep, rivals has him at #2 for some reason. He's got alot of stuff to work on, but he's very athletic, I'll give him that. He just really has to get a better handle, outside shot, and find desire for defense. Top 5 players in a class are supposed to be elite post players, or complete guards/wings, and unfortunately Walker isn't either. But hey, he's athletic as hell and OJ Mayo's teammate. I know you were just quoting Rivals rankings, and I'm not getting on you about it, I just can't stand Rivals rankings. There's not a chance in hell that Walker is a better prospect than Kevin Love, Michael Beasley, and Derrick Rose. Heck even Eric Gordon is arguably a better player, as he's almost as athletic, and has a pretty complete game. Walker has as much potential as any player in the class, but if Rivals is going to put potential at the top, then I can't see how Corey Stokes, a JR Smith clone, isn't in their top 25.
  6. You might have 100 NBA scouts at a possible LSU-Texas matchup. Would be an early indication of the possible 1st pick in the draft between Aldridge and Thomas. Things would be nasty inside with all the big bodies as both teams have two of the top 5 front-courts in the nation.
  7. Walker is very good, but Michael Beasley is the number 2 player in the class. He's a 6'8 230 pound SF/PF hybrid with insane athletecism. Charlotte got them a great one, pays off to recruit these kids really early, just in case.
  8. They have a very good base with Felton, Okafor, Brezec, Wallace, May, and the mentioned top 3 pick. They really need a sharpshooting, athletic SG to run with Felton, Wallace, Okafor, and Brezec in the starting lineup.

  10. Felton continuing his chase of Chris Paul. Felton had 30 points, 10 assists, 7 rebounds, and 5 steals in a close OT loss to the Cav's, following Felton's 16 points, 13 assists, 7 rebound effort last night. He's something special. Just imagine what he could do if the Bobcats weren't a Mash unit.
  11. I haven't see anything posted, but I'm hearing that Huggins has been hired at K-State. Seems fitting for both images. Would be interesting if true.
  12. lol, from your post, I was thinking you might not have seen the other brackets.
  13. Don't forget the other 3 brackets as well on the link.
  14. I had a neighbor that reminds me a little of this guy. We had about 8 kids on my block, and would play sports 6-10 hours most days, basketball, football, baseball, hockey, etc. But this guy was a neighbor to one of the houses we played at most, and he couldn't stand having balls bouncing or going into his yard. So he would bother us as much as possible, yelling, and even brought out a fishing pole and kept casting it at us. My friends mom had several yelling matches with him, and the guy called the cops several times on us, to which of course they did nothing about it. Unfortunately, only later in life did I find out that his wife was dying of brain cancer and slept alot, and he didn't want us bothering her. I got to know him better than the rest of the kids because my paper route went to his house as well, and over time I realized what a kind man he was, that he was just looking out for his wife. I have always felt like s*** for participating in the sports that bothered him next door. If only I would have known earlier. Thank God he wasn't out of his mind like this guy in the article.
  15. Tyler was held back in 1st grade, and Rush didn't attend prep school from what I remember. Had a normal high school career after transferring to Mt. Zion for his junior year.
  16. Another thing you have to consider, for whatever reasons, is that Tyler Hansbrough is already 20 years old, and Rush is about 6 months older than Tyler. That, combined with Rush's two brothers relative failure at the next level have to be tempering some scouts/teams enthusiasm about both of them. I fully expect both of them to be back, they both have dominant teams coming back next year to try again.
  17. Don't get me wrong either, I can't watch women's basketball outside of UNC playing. They play a very similar style to last years UNC men's team, loaded with talent, brilliant PG, and fastbreaking everywhere. That and I actually LOVE watching Ivory Latta play, she's got game, man or woman.
  18. Yeah, I meant Memphis instead of Villanova. Either way its a tough road.
  19. I wish I could care about college basketball now, but I just can't. UNC loses, and it just doesn't matter anymore. Even if duke wins, they will deserve it, having to go through LSU, Texas, Villanova, and UConn most likely.
  20. UNC forgot to show up after half time, 7 turnovers in their first 7 possessions. Quentin Thomas has to be one confused as hell dude. Bobby Frasor plays like crap yet again, but QT doesn't get the p/t, even when he's clearly the better PG in the tourney. Roy is stubborn to a fault.
  21. Lucky me, been out of town for 4 days, get home and find out all my yahoo brackets were somehow lost. Atleast my ESPN picks stuck around, I'm in the 97th percentile, and ranked 91887 out of 3 million or so entries. Kansas is really going to screw me over in the future, as they were a final four pick.
  22. I'll be driving, so I won't have to panic for 3 hours without knowing what to do. Good luck to the rest of you coping with it.
  23. Don't worry Jason, Scout.com still has your option open to charge customers for content.
