Hansbrough with a decent effort, for a freshman. 40 points and 10 boards, leading UNC back from down 20 to GT and getting closer to wrapping up a tourney berth. -

Is that the same RPI that was released on January 23rd? Or is that something different that they use as well? Too much going on for me right now to remember. http://www.sportingnews.com/yourturn/viewtopic.php?t=56016 -
Unfortunately I think you will see Maria going down the same path as Kournikova with the modeling and outside interests, even though she could be the best female tennis player in the world if she focused on it. From reading an earlier ESPN the magazine article on her, she seems very interested in the outside stuff, and has an attitude to boot. Still nice to look at though :-).

Yeah, that game was ugly, I knew Tyrese Rice was going to be special, he's something else to watch. -

What about Tubby Smith at IU? I wouldn't bet against this being his last year at Kentucky. Might be a decent fit. -

I really have to disagree. That UNC team had 4 NBA lottery picks. This UNC team will have Hansbrough, Lawson, Ellington, and Wright at the very least as 1st rounders, not even including guys like Danny Green, Marcus Ginyard, Deon Thompson, Bobby Frasor, and Alex Stepheson who have the potential for the NBA and will give great depth, along with seniors Wes Miller and Reyshawn Terry who are providing 21 ppg for this years squad. -

Oden has a ways to go offensively with post moves, but he can get by on the college level with his athletecism and length. He's an amazing defender though, and nobody will be able to bring it in the lane against him. Conley is a pretty decent complimentary type PG, and has a very solid outside shot, and more importantly can run a team. Duke loses alot this year, somewhat like what UNC lost. Duke will lose 71% of their scoring, 61% of their rebounding etc. But more importantly they lose their inside defensive presense and their most likely two time NPOY. BUT, Duke will still be in the top 25, McRoberts is going to be great, and Paulus is a nice floor leader, with guys like Nelson, Pocius, and incoming frosh Jon Scheyer and Gerald Henderson will provide impacts. I liken Henderson to a poor man's Grant Hill, amazingly athletic and a very good stroke inside the arc, but not a high basketball IQ like Hill has. I can't even begin to explain how excited I am about seeing UNC next year. Thats going to be the most talented UNC team in history. Will that translate to a championship? Who knows. But I do know UNC will have depth everywhere on the roster. Also bringing in 3 recruits ranked in the top 8 in the nation doesn't hurt. Bringing in two other very nice big men from Cali also will help. Here's most likely the roster/rotation right now. PG. Lawson/Frasor/Thomas SG. Ellington/Miller/Ginyard SF. Green/Terry/Ginyard PF. Wright/Thompson C. Hansbrough/Stepheson -
Anybody that has ESPNU, tune in, you will see two high school teams who could win quite a few college conferences. Unbelievable amount of talent combined, Oak Hill vs. St. Benedicts.

There's no conspiracy. Coach K gets all of the calls because of the venom he spews at ref's constantly, he gets away with cursing more than anyone else in college basketball. Here's a great article about it, its been posted before, but it explains it very well. http://cbs.sportsline.com/collegebasketball/story/9216412 -
All_Star reserves announced.

Don't feel sorry for Paul. He and Felton will make the All-Star team many times in their future, as good as Paul has been, its tough to argue putting him over Nash or Parker who have equal numbers and are on better teams. Nice to see Rasheed get chosen for his efforts and sacrifices, but I think either he or Rip shouldn't have been named. -

This draft is real bad. Aldridge is most likely the top pick, and he's far from polished. He has the length and the athletecism that scouts drool over, but he's mainly a dunker right now. Other things that bother me are his defensive intensity/shot blocking, and his lack of passing skills. I can see his potential that the scouts love, but he's so raw that it amazes me he's most likely going to be the 1st pick. I see him as a slightly more polished Chris Wilcox coming out. -

lol yeah I know. But still, alot of little kids love JJ Redick. Do you really want to see them walking around imitating that sign? Can you imagine the outrage if Rashad had made that sign instead of "just" the diamond sign that Jay-Z used? People called Rashad a thug for that action, and nothing is said about JJ, pretty funny/odd. -

It's totally normal for the Wichita State Shockers to throw the sign, but for a Duke player to make the sign after a 3? It doesn't make much sense. -

More fun from JJ Redick. Here was his gesture after his 3. And here's what it means, Hanover shocker Yet nothing will ever be made of it, and Rashad McCants was a thug because he threw up Jay-Z's "diamond" symbol after 3's. Nice. -

Even so, you still have class enough to shake the opposing coaches hand. Cowher didn't do anything wrong. Cowher stood in disbelief for about 5 minutes at midfield while everyone was looking around for Holmgren. Cowher's smile went into his usual chin sticking out look, it was pretty sad for a coach that just won the super bowl. -

Not that I'm bitter or anything, but take a look at these numbers from last night. When Quentin Thomas was the PG, UNC outscored Duke 44-25, when Frasor was in, UNC was outscored 39-62. Why Roy why? -

It was nice to see Holmgren complain about the refs. But did he explain why he decided to ignore Cowher at midfield? -

I think Jeff's quotes sum it up best. "There's nothing Peyton has to say to us to explain himself," said center Jeff Saturday. "Like everyone else in our locker room that day, he was frustrated, and just looking for some way to express that. I mean, there was a finality to that day, and none of us was prepared for it. For me to bring up the stuff Peyton said, to start revisiting the events of that day, what good does it do anyone?" -

Mav's close to overtaking the best record, climbed to 38-10 tonight I believe. I'm still not sold on their defense, but then again its the Mavericks and "no D" always lingers in my mind when I think of them. Its hard for me to get over them being "allas".
