  1. LOL at BC, what a stupid, stupid team. So much talent, but just so stupid. They can out-talent 95% of the squads in America, but when the have to out-think a team like Duke, its just scary.
  2. Felton would be putting up similar stats with the same amount of P/T. Take a look at what Ray has done when he plays over 30 minutes. 13 games. 15.5 ppg, 5.07 rpg, 6.54 apg, 1.92 spg He's been consistently getting over 30 minutes a game lately, and 3 of his last 4 games, his average is even better at 17.66 ppg, 10.33 apg, 5.33 rpg, 2.33 spg. I think the most impressive thing is his rebounding ability as a guard. He also doesn't have many options on the team, with the insane amount of injuries.
  3. Chris is having a great season. But he's also lucky. I've never seen a season where rookies are getting as little P/T as this year.
  4. Duke at BC, with Mike Patrick watching his Blue Devil's play. I wonder how many times we will hear Patrick spew the erroneous fact of Redick being the All-time FT leader. He's actually 3rd among active players, behind Blake Ahearn and Steve Novak and is about to fall to 4th behind Derek Ravio of the Zags who is behind Redick .02 at the moment. Why do I care? I have no idea.
  5. Interesting, more fallout from Marcus Vick. This from LaSean McCoy the #5 RB in the nation, who committed to Miami, but was leaning to VT beforehand. http://recruiting.scout.com/2/495991.html Virginia Tech was also considered for a long time to be a favorite and the most likely destiny for the top player in Pennsylvania. “I did like Virginia Tech, but the whole Marcus Vick thing turned me off of them,” he said.
  6. Hazelton signed anyways? Thats very odd, as here are quotes from today. “There are a few reasons as to why we are choosing to do this,” Dexter Hazelton said. “The deadline is not until April, so we have time to make the decision. Vidal can make his decision today, but it won’t matter until I sign it.” Vidal Hazelton, the nation’s No. 1 rated wide receiver has originally committed to the Trojans of USC, but has had some second thoughts over the weeks leading up to today. The 6-foot-3, 200 pound, wide receiver from Hargrave Military Academy in Chatham, Va., was still up in the air about his decision today. The dilema was which school would he choose USC or Penn State. His father wants him to take his time and not make a mistake or a rush judgment. “I think if we wait it will give us a chance to get to know these coaches a little bit better,” Dexter Hazelton said. “My son needs to learn some discipline. I know if he signs today, he could change his mind tomorrow. If he decided to attend USC I’m 100% behind him, but if that’s exactly what he wants and he is not making the decision under duress. So myself nr my wife are signing anything. We are going to sit down as a family and weigh everything out. "
  7. Hazelton is going to take his time with his decision now. His dad told him not to make a choice yet, because he was still confused. I wouldn't be suprised to see him enroll at PSU later.
  8. Not to be picky, but PSU had the best class in the Big 10, atleast on paper. But like usual, we will see who really had the best classes in the nation 3 years from now.
  9. Well it went very well for me as well. Both my schools, UNC/TTU, had top 25 recruiting classes. Great day.
  10. Funny stuff, Kobe still in the game at the 5 minute mark up 25 points on the Knicks. Thats asking for it.
  11. There are a few ways you can look at this, especially on the OL. For the most part, the guys that are OL's in the NFL are giant men, regardless if they played football or not. You can look at the fact that playing football actually puts them in better shape then they might be if they didn't play. Would these guys live longer if they didn't play in the NFL? I'm not talking about the guys that abuse their bodies like Bill Romanowski, but instead your average OL in the NFL at 6'5 300 pounds. Are they comparing these rates to other men that don't play in the NFL, yet are big guys? Otherwise, its not really a fair comparison. If you are 6'6 360 pounds, you likely aren't living past 60, no matter what you do.
  12. UConn hit their FT's down the stretch, and it should be out of reach for Pitt with 6 seconds left, down 4. Yep, UConn wins 80-76.
  13. Marcus Williams hits both free throws. Timeout UConn 78-74 Huskies.
  14. Man what a game, Krauser just hit a 3 to put it at 76-74 at a timeout, its on FoxSports Pittsburgh station.

  16. KU's class is actually closer to top 50, sitting at #47 in Scout rankings, and #38 in star happy Rivals rankings. But the out-recruiting K-State and Missouri part is true, atleast one day before signing day.
  17. Who happened to lead his team to the sweet 16 last year, and all but Ronald Ross returned.
  18. I wouldn't even count on the NIT. TTU has been horrendous this year trying to break in 7 freshmen. Next year they should challenge for the Big 12, but this year, just yuck.
  19. 6'3 definitely isn't too small for the TE position. Alge Crumpler, a top 5 TE in the NFL, stands all of 6'2. Randy McMichael is a very solid TE for Miami, and is almost exactly the same size as Vernon. Same with Chris Cooley in Washington, Jermaine Wiggins in Minny etc. Also, don't forget that Heath Miller, Pitt's 1st round TE last year, had blocking as a weakness, and has turned it into a strength in just one full season. Vernon has OL type strength at the TE position, and just needs coaching and the willpower to become a good blocker. I'm not sure if he has the willpower part, as I have been questioning his head for a while. But he has the potential to be talked about in the same breath as Gates, Gonzales, Crumpler, etc.
  20. 3 of the top 10 teams in the nation don't have wins against a top 25 RPI team. Including Florida, Villanova, and George Washington, with Boston College at #14 knocking on the door. GW played the schedule they were dealt, and have played it very well with 3 wins over RPI 26-50 teams. Granted, #10 is too high in my opinion, I would put them closer to 15-20 range for most of the season. They play at Xavier on February 2nd, that will be a good barometer.
  21. I guess I'm in the minority. I really like both Gonzaga and George Washington. I had GW at #18 in my preseason picks, and Gonzaga at 5. Gonzaga does play down or up to their competition, but the same can be said about most teams in college basketball, outside of Duke and UConn this year. Gonzaga also has a legit big man patrolling the paint, that also happens to shoot 84% from the line. The team as a whole shot over 80% last time I checked, including Ravio's nation leading 96%. Their ability from the outside can also keep them in games if a star players gets hurt. But Batista on the inside, and Morrison on the outside is as good as it gets in the country. As for GW, they returned just about everyone from last years tourney team, including 6 seniors and 2 juniors. With Pops inside and JR Pinnock outside, they are a team to be reckoned with. Especially in such a down year.
  22. Unfortuntaely for Leinart, he doesn't have Brady's arm. But, on the bright side, his arm is better than Dorsey, or Pennington's etc. Leinart has a good arm, but his main problem is that he doesn't throw a tight spiral, which ends up hurting him with a few fluttering balls and makes his arm average.
  23. Temple shot 48! free throws in that game as well. Who even know Temple could score in the 90's?
  24. UNC very nice win over Arizona 86-69. The team finally came together and everyone played well. 12-5 heading into ACC play. I'm expecting a 5-5 finish heading into the ACC tourney, and atleast 1 win needed to gain a tourney berth at 18-11.
  25. Hoge really isn't on ESPN for his analytical gifts. He's a guy that is there to argue with Ron Jawarski, and to stir up controversy with his predictions. For as much film as Ron and Hoge are supposed to watch, I was suprised how horrendous their NFL picks were. So you can take his views with a grain of salt, even if he did play for the Steelers most of his career and finished with the Bears :-).
