  1. Don't miss the US Army Bowl this saturday at 12 est, http://usarmy.scout.com/ Lots of prospects will be announcing for schools during the game, these are alot of the elite prospects in the land. You will see alot of future stars.
  2. I'll get some links of lists etc, just give me a second. Scout.com Football prospect database, http://scout.scout.com/a.z?s=73&p=9&c=4&yr=2006 Scout.com Football team recruit rankings, http://scout.scout.com/a.z?s=73&p=9&c=14&yr=2006 Scout.com Basketball prospect database, http://scout.scout.com/a.z?s=75&p=9&cfg=bb&c=4&yr=2006 Scout.com Basketball team recruit rankings, http://scout.scout.com/a.z?s=75&p=9&cfg=bb&c=14&yr=2006 Rivals.com Football prospect database, http://footballrecruiting.rivals.com/prosearch.asp?sid=880 Rivals.com Football team recruit rankings, http://footballrecruiting.rivals.com/teamrank.asp?SID=880 Rivals.com Basketball prospect database, http://basketballrecruiting.rivals.com/pro...sport=2&sid=910 Rivals.com Basketball team recruit rankings, http://basketballrecruiting.rivals.com/con...=477059&sid=910
  3. I don't want to clutter up the board, but would it be possible to have a recruiting thread? It could be seperate for b-ball and f-ball, or we could just combine them in one thread. I dunno, it might just be me not wanting to let go of college football yet.
  4. Like I said last night, it was the best game I have ever seen, just amazing. Interestingly, ESPN.com has the same poll up with over 117,000 votes and 53% agree it was the best ever. I don't think people realize how good of talent was on the field yesterday. These were the top two recruiting schools over the past 5 years and those recruits were going at it on the field with possibly 8 1st round picks just in this years draft, and probably 25-30 combined 1st round picks on the field in years to come.
  5. By the way, I'm NOT saying he's a classless brat at all. He just said some un-needed things in the heat of the moment. I would have said probably alot worse at the time.
  6. It wasn't even just that comment. But he was asked if he thought Texas won it or USC lost it... "I definitely think we lost it." He then went on to talk about "USC's missed opportunities" and how Texas couldn't stop them, etc. I'm not sure if he noticed, but neither team could stop each other and both teams had missed opportunities.
  7. Thats a nice thing to do, but its a bit like a friend saying nice things to your face and then talking crap about you behind it. Everyone knew USC was favored in the game, and probably should have won. So I feel that the comment was redundant and unnecessary.
  8. It's not really the fact that he believes it, as every athlete should believe their team is better. But it just doesn't need to be said to the media. No reason to disrespect the opposing team with comments like that. Both teams made mistakes, Texas fumbled the ball 4-5 times costing themselves alot of field position. Both teams had the best talent in college football, neither team could stop one another. By stating "I still think we are the better team", it insinuates that the win for Texas was a fluke, instead of pointing out how they beat "the best football team in history", by not with luck, but with their own amount of talent and grit. The same grit that USC showed the past two years. Leinart has come a long way in his comments since their win over Michigan 2 years ago. "It's been an unbelievable year," Leinart said. "I would never had expected this to happen."
  9. Texas has a very nice recruiting class, but its not the best in the nation. Its sitting at #2 right now and teams like FSU, USC, LSU etc always make a late surge around signing day. Besides, Texas has enough depth to not rely on freshmen on the OL, but its just not the same as having talented seniors anchoring the line. Jamarcus Webb is UT's best OL prospect and he has to put on 20-30 pounds before he will see alot of time. I know you are excited about the win and truly hope/believe Vince will be back. I felt the same way about Sean May and Marvin Williams. Sean May, almost a week after the emotion from the championship was over, told a huge crowd at the parade that he would be back. But money and the oppurtunity were just too much, just like I think it will be for Vince. That and it makes me cry as a Texas Tech fan/student to think about having to face him again.
  10. Sean May was staying also, even during the parade celebration... You just won the national title and had the best game of your life, you are losing possibly your 3 best OL, and your hometown team is picking #1 overall, I don't think he CAN pass that up.
  11. http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=2280596 WilliamTell, you should be pretty excited huh..
  12. Speaking of recruiting, don't miss the All-American game in San Antonia this Saturday at 12 est on NBC.
  13. Houston has a wonderful oppurtunity to make themselves much better this offseason. They are set at the QB, and RB positions and teams will be dying to trade up to #1 to get either Bush or Vince Young. Even Mario Williams with a Peppers like combine could have some DE needing teams looking at the top spot. Houston can allow a bidding war, and gain a starting OL, and a few 1st around picks out of it most likely. There are some real freaks of nature in this upcoming draft, not just Vince, Reggie, and Mario, but even guys like Thomas Howard/OLB at 6'3 240, could put up a low 4.5 40 combine time.
  14. Lendale has 26 TD's on the year, and almost 1,300 rushing yards. I don't think his stock will be higher. Other Steelers fans are clamoring for him, atleast up until the last few weeks when Willie broke out again.
  15. That was the greatest game I have ever seen. I was left just shaking my head in amazement. Vince Young is just phenominal, and USC showed they have several future superstars in the NFL, and they will be back next year, Booty is a great QB and Lendale White/Desmond Reed will have over 1,000 yards.
  16. I'm going with 42-28 Texas. Texas slows down the USC offense in the 1st half, but USC gets a few TD's later in the 2nd half, but USC never can stop Texas consistently. Vince Young throws for 200, and runs for another 100. Reggie Bush combines for over 200 yards rushing and receiving as usual, but Lendale White is stopped. I can see the exact opposite happening and me looking totally retarded, then again, what else is new.
  17. Novak will never be a superstar, but he's a great shooting SF who will give you around 15 ppg. I will admit, his passing skills and defense are laughable.
  18. I love Steve Novak, he's about to take the career FT title away from JJ Redick and is arguably the better shooter. Novak is a perfect 33-33 from the line this year to bring his career average up to 92.8%, while Redick sits at right around 93%, but only 87% on the year. Novak is also a career 47% 3 point shooter, and UNC turned him down for Byron Sanders and Damion Grant
  19. Vernon Davis runs closer to a 4.55 40 time, but he's still a great prospect. He's undersized at 6'3, but he has a great vertical to make up for it. However, give me Pope anyday, that guy is a monster, there's not a single DB in the NFL that can match up with him size wise.
  20. Carolina is far from a cupcake for anyone now. UNC played the toughest schedule in the nation last year and went 5-6, but could have won any of the 6 losses except Louisville. UNC was leading Miami at the half 16-7, and should have been up 23-7 at the half if Pollack didn't drop a wide open touchdown pass. UNC was down 6-3 at the half against VT, and should have been up 10-6 at the very least when Jesse Holley dropped yet another wide open TD pass before the half. UNC defeated Utah, NC State, Virginia, and Boston College who were all bowl teams. The administration has finally gotten serious about football, and hired Marvin Sanders two years ago after Marvin coached his Huskers secondary to lead the nation in interceptions. Kansas State and Texas A&M tried their best to hire him away as their DC's about a month ago, but he was loyal. Then yesterday UNC fans got even better news when we learned that we hired away OC/QB coach for Fresno State Frank Cignetti, who was one of the hottest OC commodities in the college ranks. UNC won't be a pushover for anyone, anymore. But I still don't expect UNC to win at ND, just put up a good fight.
  21. I know I'm just about alone, but I'm far from sold on Matt Leinart. He's had ridiculous weapons at USC, doesn't have anything more than average arm strength, and gets most of his compliments on his "intagibles". Basing a top 5 pick on "intagibles" really bothers me. I've seen scouts stating he's the next Tom Brady, but along with the heart, Tom also has a very nice arm to get the ball to the receivers. I've seen too many lefties come into the league being touted as the next Steve Young, with only average arm strength, and totally bust. Even Chris Simms had a stronger arm coming out. I'm not saying Leinart will be a bust, I just don't think he's worthy of a top 3 pick, if he fell to 6 with the Raiders, I think it would work out well for everyone. Honestly, I think his stock will fall a little at the combines which could put him available for the Raiders.
  22. If Texas wins, then Vince is gone. But otherwise I don't see him leaving, as Mack managed to keep guys like Derrick Johnson, and Cedric Benson 4 years. As for where he would go, I would think both the Jets and the Raiders would give him a look before Arizona could get to him. Even the Saints could be interested in him if he has a great combine.
  23. Yep Russ was one of the original "hogs" on the Redskins OL. He brought a great OL to Pittsburgh, although it was down this year by his normal standards. He's an associate head coach for Pittsburgh also, and would be a solid hire. He would fit in well in somewhere like Detroit, Green Bay etc.
