  1. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jun 12, 2011 -> 10:00 PM) Could you imagine Bird trying to get his shot off against the athletic freaks of nature we have in the league today? I'm not saying he would suck. But he wouldn't be as dominant as he was during the 80's. That's for certain. What kind of NBA freak is going to be blocking a 6'9 player that shot like this?
  2. QUOTE (daa84 @ Jun 12, 2011 -> 09:51 PM) my grandfather was the biggest mavericks fan I ever knew. He was probably as big of a Mavs fan as I am a white sox fan. He would come to thanksgiving every year from Dallas and would always want to know if the Mavericks were somehow on tv in Chicago. He passed away last summer, and I know he would have absolutely loved this. I hope hes somewhere smiling right now. It's like seeing the Cubs win a title. The Mavericks were beyond abysmal all during my childhood. It's amazing what an owner like Cuban can do for a franchise single-handedly.
  3. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jun 12, 2011 -> 09:46 PM) That POS LeBron untucks his jersey wwith a minute left and congratulates no one. BEAT THE HEAT DIRK GONNA DIRK WE DID IT. He's a huge asshole in every sense of the word. Basically a 5 year old given the greatest talent in history and the brain of a pile of dogs***.
  4. QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ Jun 12, 2011 -> 09:42 PM) It came down entirely to execution. Miami didn't execute late in games and that is why they aren't hoisting the trophy. They close out a giant lead in game 2 or a big lead in game 4 they win this series. Spoelsta is a garbage head coach. If LeBron doesn't go nuts and dominate Rose every 4th quarter the Bulls would have been playing for the championship. Bingo.
  5. QUOTE (SoxFan562004 @ Jun 12, 2011 -> 09:41 PM) awesome. Really enjoying this outcome as a sports fan. I'm a Heat fan and even I know that LeBron and this fanbase don't deserve a championship.
  6. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Jun 12, 2011 -> 09:38 PM) Not really his fault IMO. This series came down to effort/heart, not execution Even with great players, you have to have structure like the triangle. The Heat have absolutely no offensive sets. Spoelstra is garbage.
  7. QUOTE (WilliamTell @ Jun 12, 2011 -> 09:36 PM) Think Miami would be on the brink of losing had Pat Riley coached? Or would it be no different? Spoelstra is just awful, I don't think he lasts long this offseason.
  8. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jun 12, 2011 -> 08:50 PM) I remember when Jason Kidd couldn't hit water if he was in a boat. He's really developed his 3-point shot. Yep, Ason Kidd was still a fun part of Triple J in Dallas early on though.
  9. LeBron can't even back down JJ Barea. God he's pathetic.
  10. QUOTE (DukeNukeEm @ Jun 9, 2011 -> 11:04 PM) The same Chris Bosh who has routinely outplayed James in these finals? Yes, the same Bosh that is shooting 37% in the finals with twice as many turnovers as assists.
  11. QUOTE (daa84 @ Jun 9, 2011 -> 10:53 PM) Lebron fails to show up again. I know he had a triple double but it was an unimpressive fashion. Unacceptable for your only 4th quarter points to come on a gimme layup with 20 seconds left when the other team is just trying to not foul, enspecially when you are the best player in the game. Most frustrating player in NBA history. More God-given ability than anyone that has stepped on a court, but has the heart of a quitter. I think the problem is that LeBron would rather be Magic Johnson than Michael Jordan. Only LeBron doesn't have Kareem in the paint, he has Chris Posh spice.
  12. QUOTE (Brian @ Jun 7, 2011 -> 04:52 PM) The kid hasn't played a game at the college level yet and I hope Austin Rivers gets knocked down. You don't enjoy kids that give themselves the nickname "Subzero" because his "moves freeze the defense"? I haven't hated a Duke kid this much since Redick left campus.
  13. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Jun 7, 2011 -> 10:51 PM) Did lebron touch the ball the last 6 min? He unfortunately had the ball almost every single possession down the stretch. A solid 8 point 4 turnover game for the King.
  14. QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ Jun 6, 2011 -> 09:50 PM) At least this isn't a safe pick. Has got good on-base skills (.500+ OBP) and top-of-the-line speed (65 SBs to 3 CSs). Clear boom or bust. It's not a safe pick, but it's not a "sexy" pick either. This is a guy with 4 homers in 216 at-bats while striking out 45 times at the Juco level. This is a guy we could have gotten with our next pick at 80 most likely. Ugh, another year of garbage front office drafting.
  15. Got BA's 92nd rated player at 47. That's White Sox value.
  16. QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ Jun 5, 2011 -> 08:10 PM) Chris Bosh continues to play terrible basketball. Eh, he's just 11-43. Not bad.
  17. Even with LeBron and Wade's stupidity, this one falls on Bosh yet again. The p**** is shooting 9-34 in the first two games so far. Would be great to see Spoelstra, Wade, or LeBron call him out in the media. But Bosh is too fragile mentally to handle it. I have to admit, even as a Heat fan, I wouldn't be upset to see Dirk and Kidd get a title.
  18. I did find it sad that Wade was having a huge game and LeBron couldn't handle it. He wanted to be the hero and ended up costing the Heat the game along with Chris Bosh playing his usual p**** role.
  19. QUOTE (SoxAce @ May 26, 2011 -> 07:28 AM) Brandon Short loves hitting streaks. 26 game last year, and I believe he's at 18 this year. I also noticed he has played CF and is stealing some bases this year. I wonder how he rates as a CF. He certainly needs a better eye at the plate, but he's at least someone fun to watch at 22 in AA.
  20. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ May 23, 2011 -> 12:48 PM) So, regarding the Noah incident, I think it's a bunch of bulls*** honestly. I don't approve of what he said, but at the same time it's a bit unfair for something like that to happen and the NBA to OK (if not mandate) the videotaping of guys in that situation. Noah gets heated on the court, comes to the bench, someone says something and the camera is on him the whole time. If the NBA was really worried about its' role models saying bad things, guess what, stop filming them in that situation. Athletes just can't be interacting with the fans in a negative manner. Everyone and their mom's have smartphones, somebody is going to catch the athlete's interaction with the fan. Dealing with idiots in the stands is just part of the job description for most athletes. People pay to see you play and will bring their idiotic comments with them. My issue with the situation is that the NBA seemingly was only upset because of a word Noah used, not his interaction with a fan. Sooner or later the NBA is going to have to pass out a cheat sheet of acceptable trash talk.
  21. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ May 20, 2011 -> 08:31 PM) Kobe may end his career having a few all time statistics better than Jordan, but that is mainly due to the fact Kobe will end up playing more games. I dont really think Kobe dominated his era, he was good, but Im not even sure that hes the best Laker of all time. Kobe has actually already played in 31 more games than MJ.
  22. Sad news, Austin Box, OU LB passed away. http://enidnews.com/localnews/x467553598/B...sive-in-El-Reno
  23. I can't even deny that the Heat were abysmal this year in close games, and most of that was LeBron missing clutch shots consistently. http://www.teamrankings.com/nba/stat/win-pct-close-games
  24. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ May 18, 2011 -> 08:44 PM) I dunno, the announcers are even calling out some terrible calls. Just because its even doesn't mean its good officiating. Not saying the officiating is good. But there were already posts before the game started about how the refs were going to screw the Bulls over. As if the MVP, playing in Chicago, isn't going to be good enough for the NBA in a finals matchup.
