  1. , he was the one I wanted and thought we should draft in the 3rd, I knew he would be signable as Hewitt is flirting with other jobs. Man that sucks.
  2. You think so? I felt the same way, but BA said he was a draft eligable sophomore that could be looking for more money to sign. So I'm not sure about that. But either way we will have plenty of money available with all the likely draft-and-follows we drafted this year. If we don't sign Danks, we can sign more of the DAF guys right before next years draft.
  3. The problem is that Brandon got lit up his two starts right before getting called up also. I'm not sure whats wrong.
  4. Give me Christine Taylor and you can have whoever you want.
  5. Thats a tough break, no pun intended. Jackie Manual also broke his foot today unfortunately at the camp.
  6. Yeah but unfortunately Griffey doesn't have alot of leverage to demand things. Especially with the amount of money he has been paid while sitting on the bench injured for the last 4 years.
  7. Don't be so sure, remember Griffey was supposed the smash the record also. Injuries happen, especially when these guys get into their 30's, and especially when you are as big of a boy as A-Rod. But still thats ridiculous to have 400 homers before your 30th birthday. Thats 40 homers a year from the time you are 19 years old.
  8. It seems to me that Brandon needs to develop some movement on his fastball. He has great control with it, but its just to straight. I'm not sure what his reasons for pitching less than his usual lately, but that could be part of it.
  9. Great white sharks like to swim about 100 feet under their pray and then swim straight up at 20-30 mph and grab their pray on the surface. But also they sometimes like to take a nibble of their potential pray to see if its worth it. This kid is lucky he wasn't worth it.
  10. Could it be possible that we were planning to draft Danks all along later on? We drafted lots of CC and JC guys that we could draft and follow and sign later on if Danks doesn't take our money offer.
  11. Why didn't you answer the phone when Cerb called? Is there another website we should know about?
  12. BaseballAmerica has him listed as "Joey Fernandez", but I found this on Yudelmis Hernandez. “Yuldelmis is a very big, strong young man with some serious juice in his bat. He has the long arms and long legs that create very good leverage to his swing and the strength to get the wood bat through the zone. Yuldemis could become a very strong man in the future if he works hard at it and make some ball fields look very small.”
  13. Nope, but he has a brother Chris that is supposed to be a 1st round pick next year.
  14. I've heard you are a good athlete, how would you rate yourself defensively as a pitcher? Also congrats on being the highest drafted TCU player in history. Chris Lubbock, Texas
  15. Jordan I went nuts without my BA subscription, so its very worth it to me. I've had it for 4-5 years and every year it runs out in early May, but this year I tried to go without it, and could only make it until late May. They have good information on tons and tons of players. But you can do without it other than draft time because people here post the team reports etc and even at draft time MLB.com sometimes gives good info for free on alot of players. Even BA doesn't have scouting reports on probably 1/3 to 1/2 of the guys we drafted, I had to search all nooks and crannies for information on them, I just searched their community college website's for any stats and info I could find and it wasn't much. I did find some interesting info on the 1B we drafted Yuselmis(sp?) Hernandez on a wood bat association page.
  16. According to Duane Schaffer, Lance's fastball sits anywhere from 89-94 mph and usually settles at 91-92 most games. Looks like his fastball hasn't been given enough credit.
  17. Guys, I just wanted to say good luck finding some of these guys. I've never seen a draft that has this many guys that I can't find squat on. Its amazing.
  18. BA shows him at Sierra Vista High School (Nevada) in that listing, his name is just mixed in with that other guy from another school.
  19. Holy crap, I used to sit there for 30 mins trying to figure out what the hell they were doing.
  20. Jason I have a feeling its Chris Carter. Here is info on Chris. "Cimarron Memorial High RHP Mark Willinsky ranked alongside Rasner as Nevada’s best high school prospect at the start of the year, but the 92-93 mph fastball he had as a sophomore and junior leveled off to the high 80s. With Willinsky’s fall, 6-foot-4 OF Chris Carter (12) moved to the head of the Las Vegas high school class. He has athletic ability and raw power, but lacks baseball instincts."
  21. Well since I have been following that league all year long because I specifically knew we would make this pick. I can say without a doubt 100%... Maybe
  22. I'm personally loving the Aaron Cunningham pick. Here is what BA says about the barely 19 year old. "Huge numbers of scouts came for Simons and Zink, and they stayed for OF Aaron Cunningham (5). The unheralded freshman tore up the Northwest Athletic Association of Community Colleges, hitting .489-10-56, earning MVP honors and nearly winning the league’s triple crown. Exceptionally strong at 6 feet and 190 pounds, Cunningham hit a number of long wood-bat home runs with one of the purest swings in the Northwest. His other tools, mainly his speed and arm strength, are slightly above-average."
  23. I've got Chirino's profile here, http://hurricanesports.collegesports.com/s...o_israel00.html It doesn't look like he did anything recent, maybe an injury, or maybe grades.
  24. I give it an I as in incomplete. Not because the draft isn't finished, but because I'm wary of the picks, yet I know they can still suprise me. My initial reaction would have given this draft an F, but with guys like Liotta and Schurnstein suprising the heck out of me in the past, I have to give it an I.
