  1. Jordan do you honestly think Vince is the only basketball player to do that? He gave his all to Toronto for several years, and he got tired of losing. He asked to be traded, but they didn't want to trade away their only star attraction. Was it wrong for him to admit to it in the media? Definitely. Other stars like Tracy McGrady, Steve Francis, Kobe, Baron Davis etc have all done pretty much the same thing. Here's a pretty recent article about it. http://www.usatoday.com/sports/basketball/...amp-trade_x.htm Would I defend Vince if he wasn't a Tar Heel, thats debatable. But I do know he's a very good person that does alot for charity etc. I disagree completely with his media comments and his lack of working out, but its his life and I can find lots and lots of other NBA players that I could choose to hate over him.
  2. Man, I've had this game for like 3 months now and I still have 20 games left in my first season. I need to quit my girlfriend, job, and school and just concentrate on this for a while
  3. Yeah, I'm gonna have nightmares of Eddie Jones trying to guard Vince or Jefferson. YIKES. Shaq might get 55 himself, but Vince and Jefferson could combine for 70 on us.
  4. Looks like the trade did pay off for NJ. Vince is averaging over 31 ppg in April and has the nets in the 8th spot, 1 behind Philly. Also Jefferson is due back this week. I don't want to see the Nets in the 1st round against the Heat, no thanks.
  5. lol, reminds me of this. ftp://ftp.quahog5news.com/pub/quotes/season2/FG210/sexy1.mp3 "I need an adult! I need an adult!"
  6. I think also, atleast for me, if a player is earning 11 million a year and isn't actually "earning" that salary, then it makes me angry. Partly because of jealousy, but also because I know he's taking up salary that someone else could have used to help the team even more. Do I think any player in baseball can actually earn 11 million by hitting a baseball or throwing a baseball? Thats a whole other story.
  7. I think its nothing but a good thing to have alot of mod's/admins. The more people you have watching the board, the better off the board will be. The hard part is choosing the right people to do the job correctly, Soxtalk has done a nice job of that so far. Its ALOT easier having more people watching out for the board at random times than having a few mods spend their lives watching over the board. It just sucks us "regulars" don't get to go to the swank parties and get to learn the secret handshake.
  8. Whoever hires an agent that negotiates voidable contracts deserves what happens to them.
  9. So if T.O. has a subpar year next year the owner can then cut his salary right?
  10. Doherty will be hired by Florida Atlantic very soon, he's also going to bring in Rex Walters as an assistant coach. You will see FAU do well in the next few years, Doherty as mentioned before is a very good recruiter. WE will see if his practice style has changed, for his sake I hope it has.

  12. Thanks for the info, I'm just hoping he doesn't have a Rob Deer type season at AA. I think he will get things figured out and have a solid year, then again I'm probably too high on him from the start compared to others.
  13. Thanks for the recap, did Young look overmatched at all outside of his HR at-bat? I'm really looking forward to a good year from him at AA, and was dissapointed in hearing he might be overmatched.
  14. Bingo, he is still raw in every facet of the game outside of FT's, he needs to improve his handle and he needs to gain 20 pounds of muscle. Thats why he needs to come back to UNC and get 30+ minutes at SF

  16. You can add Raymond Felton to that list, he's 100% gone.
  17. Yeah Rex as its rumored right now, we are likely to lose our top 7 from last year. Its 100% that McCants and Felton are gone, and probably 60% that May is going, he might as well, his stock will never be higher, and about 50% that Marvin will leave. I truly believe they will all be gone, and I can't blame them at all. I will wish them well and root for them at the next leve, and we will rebuild at UNC. Our 2006 recruiting class is looking like it will be very similar to our 2002 class which brought us a championship pretty much. Basically if they all leave, here is our lineup next year. PG. Quentin Thomas/Bobby Frasor SG. Marcus Ginyard SF. Reyshawn Terry PF. David Noel C. Tyler Hansbrough Its gonna be a rebuilding year with no pressure, we could sneak up on 20 wins as the ACC will lose ALOT of players also outside of Duke. I truly hope Marvin has mercy on this team and decides to come back next year, he could be amazing and turn this team into a legitimate tourney team again. One thing is for sure, they will certainly be a very good defensive team, that will have to keep them afloat so to speak, as alot of young'uns will be playing.
  18. That wouldn't suprise me at all, ESPN tends to report the negative sports more than the positive, especially when it comes to soccer etc. I never really thought about the thousands of soccer matches that are played in Europe and around the world that don't have maniacs doing crap like we saw on the video. You just tend to see the racism, brawls, and anti-American sentiments reported on the news over here.
  19. The video was nuts, the goalkeeper got smacked right in the shoulder/head with a lit flare, all in all there was like 16 flare's thrown onto the field. How the hell do they get flare's into the game is my question? I would be terrified to go to any rivalry European football game, thats insane.
  20. I disagree, I think Fransisco will have a long NBA career. He won't be a superstar by any stretch of the imagination, but he has nice size and a very nice shot. He also has a very solid handle for his size. He also plays solid defense, but will definitely have to gain 20+ pounds for the NBA. He also shoots free throws very well which I think is always very important for guards. What concerns me about him is his outside stroke, it was pretty average on the college level, with his best shooting season actually being his freshmen year.
  21. Rumors lately that the Illini have improved their standing with Scheyer, that would be very interesting.
  22. That was never really a possiblity, UVA just wanted to throw their money at some top guys and get some pub fully knowing they wouldn't be interested. I think they went after Rick Barnes a little also, both coaches would be absolutely nuts to leave their current posts.
  23. Hey Jason were there ever rumors of Adrian Beltre on steroids? He seems to be the perfect candidate to have taken them, with the muscle he amassed in one offseason and the kind of year he suddenly had in a contract year. I wonder if he's lost any mass this year and if his numbers will reflect it. I also wonder if they Dodgers were worried about that at all and that factored into their not re-signing Adrian. He had an insane stat jump last year, almost .100 points gained in the average and a 25 homer 41 rbi jump, and maybe the most controversial, his slugging percentage went up over 200 points. Boy, thats alot of wondering for one night, I need to take a break.
  24. The UVA job would be very attractive to alot of folks. They can pay the coach ALOT of money, and they can get Juco's in. They also have a very nice campus to recruit with, and alot of potential recruiting kids to the ACC. I know everyone gets tired of hearing about the ACC, but it still has alot of allure for kids. Alot of people think the UVA program is a sleeping giant. If their new coach whomever it may be, can recruit half as well as the football program right now, they will be in great shape.
  25. Ray Felton is supposed to announce his intention to enter the NBA draft at a press conference on tuesday I believe. Good luck to him, he revived UNC's program.
