I don't see much from him, but this was the best time for him to declare. If he waits until his senior year he will have no leverage whatsoever. I can see him being a high 2nd round pick and sticking with a team.

A minor league system would horribly dilute the college game. Only the most ardent student athletes would attend college. Its a tough option for alot of them to choose, study and attend classes sometimes during the week, or get 35-40k a year to play basketball and improve until being drafted. I like the current system, just imploy a system where they have to attend 2 years of college. Then the type that actually want a degree would be somewhat close to it and could return during summers. Others could mature a little in college and move on to whatever they want to try. Those that have no business being in college can use other routes like the NBDL and overseas basketball. You could even add a free agency for the NBDL players, teams can buy their rights and have them allocated into the NBDL like the NFL does with European players. Instead of buying a 10 day contract from players, they can buy up to 2 years or something of a contract and call them up whenever they deem them ready. I think both ways would work, I just don't want to see the college game devoid of talent, like I believe it would be. Its a very tough decision.

Is his athletecism 1st round potential good? Definitely. But he's VERY raw as playing anything outside of QB. I think it would be a bad decision to take a non-impact player in the 1st round, atleast for his 1st year. Like GHC said above, it will take him some time to be an impact player. I don't know if he will ever be able to pack on the strength and weight to be an adequate blocking TE or H-Back. WR/TE hybrid is likely his future, but I don't know if thats worth a 1st round pick.

I watched him QB several games at Arkansas, I was just amazed at his athleticism for such a big guy. He would just take off running and the LB's would be in shock seeing him blow past them. I don't know how well he can catch the ball, but it wouldn't be a bad idea to snatch him up in the 3rd-4th round to see what you can make of him.

As much respect as I have for Rivers, as he tore apart my Heels and the ACC for over 12,000 yards I believe, I can't honestly say he will be a better pro quarterback than Rodgers or Smith. Is he a year ahead in the learning curve? Definitely. But I don't think he has nearly the potential the other two have, Rodgers and Smith are both much better athletes than Rivers. Philip could REALLY struggle behind a no name 49ers OL. With that said, Rivers will be a solid NFL QB, just not sure if he will be better than Rodgers or Smith.

Its just odd, Howard wasn't even considering Duke. Its almost like he just pulled it out of his ass.

I guess they forgot to do their homework. Dwight was interested in UNC, not Duke. He is actually going to take summer classes at UNC and try to get his degree. He can practice with the team I believe, not sure on the rules on that.

UNC and Wisconsin have a home and home series starting this year in football. But don't look for it to be a cakewalk in football now. We have a solid team returning, I still expect Wisconsin to win at home, but it should be close. UNC will lose Manual, Jawad Williams, and Melvin Scott to graduation. Its been talked about that Felton, and McCants will leave also. But with McCants recent medical problem, thats up in the air. UNC will be adding 3 Mickey D's AA's next year also, so it won't be too much of a dropoff. Wisconsin should still have a better team, I will admit.

UT fans expect their mens program to be at the women's level every year, good luck Bruce, you are gonna need it.

Good assessment. No way UNC will blow Wisconsin out. It will be another low scoring affair. Thankfully we don't have Foye to deal with again, but you guys have alot of people that can shoot the 3 also. It will be a great game regardless of what anyone says. With alot of help from the ref's Rex. Then they tried to make up for it at the end of the game, poorly done all around. A Nova player got all arm on Marvin Williams inside and no foul, then Felton was grabbed by Nardi and it was Felton's 5th foul somehow, very similar to Redick's grab on Jarret Jack. Then Jackie Manual is a foot away from Foye on a jumpshot and somehow it was a foul. Roy Williams put it nicely after the game saying "it was a very weird refereed game".

Good question Willie, its been an especially terrible year in the ACC for officiating. They have no accountability in games, so they can blow calls and move on with their life. Meanwhile if a coach or player makes comments on the blown call, they can be suspended.

Hardly, the main reason Nova got back into the game was because of the refs, lots of phantom calls, including a few And 1's that were completely BS. It was all around a bad bad day for officials in the game, its just unfortunate other fans will only get to see that crappy call.

Even as a UNC fan I admit he didn't travel. But it made up for alot of the bulls*** phantom calls that left Felton on the bench most of the 2nd half. Lots of crappy, crappy calls that were unnecessary and then they would try to make up for it with other crappy calls, it was never ending.

Man, what a game. Refs sucked ass both ways. Nova put up a great fight, Felton in foul trouble most of the game, but Rashad stepped up.

Zeno played like a scrub yesterday, but he definitely has a hell of a lot of potential. Amazing athlete, and an improving sweet lefty stroke. Knight can mold him into something special, he just has to find a capable rebounder down low. Our big men have to live in the weight room this offseason. As for Pittsnogle, he's a player, can shoot with any center. But, on the downside, my girlfriend says he looks like Deputy Dewey(sp?) David Arquette from Scream 2 I believe.

Texas Tech out. I can only imagine what Knight could do with talent on his hands. Its Ronald Ross, Jarius Jackson and the 3 scrubs all the time on the floor. Even tonight Ross was playing like a scrub, he picked a horrible time to have his worst game. Still a great run for Tech when nobody including me thought they would get nearly this far.

Wow thats an awesome accomplishment. Not to mention taking a title away from a Dukie never hurts
