Aww Rex, don't ruin a perfectly good Dickie V hating thread . lol j/k, I truly do like Dick as a person, he does alot of great things. I just get sick of his nonsense over and over again, in the past he would mention Duke 10 times a game when it was someone like Iowa/Nebraska playing that had absolutely nothing to do with the game. Now its UNC this year, you just don't see other announcers doing that. Dick used to be the guy everyone counted on for recruiting news and inside information, but with the Internet now, recruiting has passed him by. He's relegated to "Awesome BABY!", "PTP'er", "OOHHH The bald dome index!!". He doesn't even speak much about basketball anymore, its all cliches filling the airspace. I just think its passed him by. He does alot of good for the game outside the booth, I think he should focus on that now.

I haven't noticed him at all, I even did a search on ESPN to see if I missed something and nothing came up. Sorry.

I'll do a mock for the Steelers. 1. Carlos Rogers/Brandon Browner/Marlin Jackson (whichever is available at 30, I will say Brandon Browner CB Oregon State. 2. Chris Henry WR WVU (Character issues, but great size, sounds just like Plaxico who could be lost this offseason). 3. Chris Canty DE UVA (Big DE that could help out in 3-4, injuries will drop him this low) 4 Rob Petitti OT Pittsburgh (Big OL that could help out at RT for the Steelers.) 5. James Kinney LB Missouri (small, but great speed and instincts, probably won't be available, but I can hope) 6. Aaron Fransisco S BYU (Big safety, average speed and a nice leader, sometimes over aggressive with hits) 7. Madison Hedgecock FB UNC (FB/H-back, great blocker, can knock some heads off, I liken him to William Henderson, bigger than William but not as fast)

I think Tracey's age would keep him off of alot of prospect lists unless he somehow moves to AAA and dominates it next year. I think Sweeney has the best shot of making that list next year. Hopefully we will see a breakout season from him.

looking at the other thread, Cheat posted "Basically, he lived, Broken jaw, lost teeth, messed up his eye ... The kids were from Hammond IN...." So I guess not. Though I can't imagine how his head must look.

Actually, UNC fans have been tired of him for a long, long time. Alot of fans were irritated with his constant referrels of Dean Smith as "Michaelangelo" and his UNC love fest. Then when he turned to Duke 5 years ago or so, it just tipped the scales completely against him. You should see the hatred of him on UNC boards.

I was referring to his "quiet" comment about who he thinks really is number 1 right now. He said it was Carolina because of the frontline with Marvin/Jawad Williams and Sean May. Enough is enough out of him. This game needs no banter about UNC or the ACC for that matter, its a great matchup and a truly great team is dominating right now. Just no need for it. He's moved on from Duke because he realizes they don't have the depth this year, I almost wish he would go back.

I'm sure everyone has seen the Guilford miracle shot by now, it was 5 of the top 10 on ESPN's plays yesterday. The one where the kid with .6 seconds left got the rebound and fired the ball 90 feet and made it to win the game. Well here is a post about more amazement from that. Its from InsideCarolina.com's message boards. "i'm sure by now everyone who watches ESPN has seen the footage of the Guilford College player getting the missed free throw in a game last night, .6 seconds left, team down by 1, and he throws a football-type pass the entire length of the court that swishes to win the game. It was on ESPN's Top 10 plays as # 9, 7, 5, 3, and 1. They kept showing it over and over it was so remarkable. Well, Channel 2 in Greensboro went out to Guilford College to interview him tonight live, and gave him 16 balls to see if he could do it again. He hit the backboard a couple of times, came mighty close with a couple more that were on line, missed badly a couple of times, but then amazingly, on throw # 15, he threw it and while it was on the way - and he hadn't said anything on any of the others - he said "that's in", and darned if it didn't swish, like the one last night. The reporter was stunned. It was unbelievable. (He declined to throw the 16th ball, saying "I've got to quit on that one.") It was 100% legit. The guy is a former baseball player and football quarterback. Anyway, if anyone is in an area that gets Channel 2 (WFMY), watch tonight's 11:00 news. I am sure they will rebroadcast that. I know it's not UNC b-ball but we report on other teams' stuff form time to time and this is pretty amazing. Definitely ESPY-material. " Thats just crazy, I've tried that shot many, many times in my life, I can hit quite a few from halfcourt with regular shooting form, but I've never made it from 90 feet.

BA usually relies heavily on "stuff". Alot of those guys, especially the righties, can throw 95mph fastballs pretty easily. Both Petit and Brandon don't have a dynamite fastball yet, they just really know how to pitch.

I've always liked Charlie, he has great talent. He would be in an ideal situation to sit behind Favre for a year. I'm really hoping he gets that chance.

Thanks, I actually stopped watching at halftime due to programming hw. I saw the final minute though where their scrubs scored like 8 points in the final minute. I just can't believe how well McCants is taking his far less role in the offense. Sad part is that with his unselfishness and defense this year, his offensive statistics have gone down while be's become the best player he's ever been. He won't get noticed for it either due to his lack of stats. As for GAT, I can definitely see them making a run when Elder gets healthy again. But Duke, barring a 3 point bonanza, I can't see them beating a talented deep team in the NCAA tourney. They will get their usual Sweet 16 and then run into trouble in my opinion.

lol you aren't gonna get much interest on this here, this is Big Ten country, I usually end up talking to myself unless I mention Duke hatred, which is apparently shared universally. Yes UNC has a good shot at winning the ACC, but anytime an ACC school plays on the road, they are prime for an upset. Pretty much anyone can beat anyone at home. I'm predicting Illinois, UNC, Arizona, and Wake Forest in the F4. With UNC and Illinois being 1 seeds, Arizona being a 3-4 seed, and WF being a 2 seed.
