  1. Some people take themselves way too seriously...
  2. Hey chisox05 I've got a question for you. I haven't payed attention to mock drafts yet, but where is Akron's QB Charlie Frye predicted to go right now? I love him as a QB, 6'4 230 with great mobility and a great arm. I think he should be a 1st-2nd easily, especially after the combines. I just wanna know what they project for him right now, thanks.
  3. So basically you are painting 31 states and over half of America as redneck hick's. Why stop there? Why just not just admit that the NE is better than the rest of the country and that the south is just lucky to be part of such a great NE nation, heck you could just give away the south to Mexico and we are too illiterate to read about it and would never know it happened. I applaud the judge for taking a stance for keeping the 10 ammendments, I strongly disagree with keep segregation laws. But, I do know that not all 31 red states believe the same way. You started off well by stating this, "One red state decided to show the kind of values it believes in." You should have stopped it there.
  4. Not many here care but UNC snuck by Winston-Salem State in their first exhibition game 113-54. Jawad Williams and Rashad McCants both had 20 plus, Marvin Williams had 8 points, but Quentin Thomas was actually the better freshmen out there today. Big Damion Grant dominated defensively with 4 blocks in 8 minutes of play, he's running the floor great. 10 guys for UNC played today, all but Melvin Scott and Wes Miller played well. Defense was noticably improved from last year, lots of great on the ball defense leading to easy fastbreak oppurtunities. This is going to be a fun year :-).
  5. People are stupid, deal with it. You would see ignorant comments from both ends of the spectrum. From deep in the south to the northeast, its just completely different life styles and values. Both sides are full of ignorance. Somehow Bush has to try to re-unite the country. The terrorists tried to divide our country and sadly it looks like its working. Why do we need to fight Iraq, N. Korea, or Afganistan, we can just have our 2nd civil war :banghead
  6. I'm really rooting for UL's QB Stefan LeFors, his entire family is deaf, he was a miracle that has to mature early on. He has a great story and is a great QB. He will make plenty of money on Sundays.
  7. I understand, I just don't appreciate being called racist or prejudice or anything. But I guess I can see how you got that out of the statement. I promise you I'm not. If you lived here or in the SW you would understand it.
  8. Its useless arguing this but I will anyways. AGAIN, Jordan won 3 championships without Rodman, Scottie was a very good player. But Lamar is a very good player also, Brian Grant, Kareem Rush, and Caron Butler are good players. Like I said before, I'm not expecting a championship from Kobe, just to lead them into the playoffs and win a series. Jordan would have atleast done that. This can go on and on, how do I know Jordan would have done that blah blah blah, its all just opinion against opinion. Jordan's competitiveness rubbed off on the rest of the team, he wouldn't accept anything less than giving your all in practice, otherwise he would get in their face and pretty much threaten them. :banghead Again I'm not expecting a championship from Kobe this year, I just used MJ's leadership taking his teams without dominant centers and winning championships. We could get into another big argument over the talent Kobe plays against vs. when MJ was in his prime. But I won't get into that one.
  9. Wouldn't be suprised to see Florida go hard after Urban Meyer, Meyer+Florida would equal alot of trouble for the rest of the nation.
  10. I guess you shouldn't assume about things you are ignorant of? By the way, I knew someone would be PC enough to take that comment out of context. I have absolutely no problem with Mexicans or Spanish people in general, I was just pointing out a reason for the data.
  11. Michael proved he could win without a great center, and without Dennis Rodman, he was just icing on the cake. Caron Butler is very good defensively, Lamar Odom is a heck of a player also. Chris Mihm as dumb as he is, is atleast as good as any center MJ ever had. Sure MJ had Scottie by his side the whole time, and Rodman and Kukoc for a few years, but he also had guys like Paxton, Kerr, Wennington, Scott Williams, Cartwright, Longley, Harper, and taught them how to win. We will see if Kobe can do the same, I'm not expecting a championship from him, just that they play at a higher level than anyone expected. Just read JD4Life's post and thats exactly what I'm talking about. Thanks.
  12. Not suprising the SW is ranked so low. Take a look at what is close by. Alot of uneducated immigrants coming over. South Texas IS Mexico pretty much now.
  13. I don't see much opening up for him, unless the Dolpins want to take another NFL shot with him. UNC's coach just got a pardon for a week atleast by defeating Miami, and if UNC beats VTech, Wake Forest, and Duke to end the season, they could concievably share the ACC title. Thats amazing coming from the beginning of this season with the second to last defense in college and even 2 weeks ago giving up 679 yards to Utah. I don't see Texas opening either, Mack is beating the teams he needs to beat this year outside of OU, and as arrogant as UT fans are, I don't see a change there either.
  14. We will finally get to see if Kobe is indeed on Michael's level. Can Kobe lead the Lakers without a dominant big man to a chamionship? I'm not holding my breath. I hope no one else is either. You know Lamar, Caron, and even Brian Grant are going to get frustrated running up and down the floor playing defense and seeing Kobe jack up shot after shot after shot. They are used to having Dwyane Wade look for them first. Kobe has to first make his team better, then worry about scoring 30+ a game like Michael did. I don't see the first part happening, even with 7 assists in the first game. Kobe is always going to get a high number of assists because he's a pretty good passer and the ball is ALWAYS in his hands everytime down the floor. I know for sure a duo of Kobe and Lamar in the open floor could wreak havoc, Rudy should run-n-gun with Kobe at the 2G, Caron at the SF, and Lamar at the PF position with Mihm holding down the C position. Kobe is a very good defender as everyone knows, but Caron is also a very good defender which will lead to fast breaks and Lamar is pretty much a PG in the open floor.
  15. [RANT] I think its a good thing most of these people aren't really singing. Not even mentioning how tough it would be to sing AND dance without sounding out of breath, but most artists just sound like crap in real life. Alot of them are sound studio made artists. You wouldn't even recognize songs in concert. You can put 20 pounds of makeup or put someone in an expensive sound studio and make them a star overnight. [/RANT]
  16. Sam had over 15,000 career NBA points and almost 7500 career rebounds with over 2200 3 pointers. If Brian develops into that, LA will have a serious weapon, but Brian doesn't have the 3 point touch or the 2,000 foot wingspan Sam had. Don't hold your breath.
  17. Miami defeats NJ 100-77, Rasual Butler steps up like I predicted he would with 16 points 6 boards and 3 assists. He's gonna be a guy that suprises everyone.
  18. Here are some highlights of BA's analysis of our draft. "Best Raw Power: No Chicago draftee could put on a batting-practice show like Whisler, though his future appears to be on the mound. OF Brandon Allen (1), who had NCAA Division I-A potential as a linebacker, is very raw but can blast balls a long way. Fastest Runner: OF Evan Tartaglia blazes from the left side of the plate to first base in 3.95 seconds. Best Defensive Player: The White Sox thought C Donny Lucy (2) was the best defensive backstop in the draft. Best Fastball: RHP Nick Lemon (8) doesn't always know where his heater is headed, but he hit 98 mph during the spring and 96 after signing. Chicago hopes his control (31 walks in 24 pro innings) will improve after he makes some mechanical adjustments. LHP Tyler Lumsden (1) pitches anywhere from 91-96 mph, while LHP Gio Gonzalez (1) has uncanny command of his fastball (87-90 to 94) for an 18-year-old. Best Late-Round Pick: Line drive-hitting INF Adam Ricks (10) hit .305 with a .411 on-base percentage in the Pioneer League, then shifted to catcher in instructional league.Ricks, who last played behind the plate in junior college, made good progress."
  19. That one was hilarious. I also loved when Peter and Lois are naked after playing Yachtzee with their nudist neighbor, then Quagmire walks in and sees Lois and has to ask for a towel. Also when Stewie is blowing on the trumpet so hard is makes him fart and he says something like "that was me farting by Chopin in E flat."
  20. Maryland has the best coach in the ACC, but absolutely no QB. They are a good team when they can find a way to generate offense. The ACC is very even outside of Duke. UNC beat Miami, who beat FSU, who smashed UVA, who smashed UNC. Its not Miami-FSU and the 9 dwarfs like everyone thought it would be.
  21. You guys finally get to see what I've been seeing all season. Ben is for real, Duce is for real, and the Steelers with Lebau as DC are for real. Its a return of blitzburgh Steelers with a balanced offense. I'm loving this.
  22. I'm going from memory here but, I seem to remember ND wanted to join the ACC in basketball ONLY. They wanted to keep their contract with NBC and get the publicity from ACC basketball, needless to say the ACC turned them down and took BC instead.
  23. I don't even know what to say, biggest win in school history. UNC only team to beat FSU and Miami in ACC. Unfreakingbelievable!!!!! I'll put it even further into perspective. UNC was missing Isaiah Thomas(best DT), Fred Sparkman(top MLB), Adarius Bowman(top WR), Ronnie McGill(top RB), Jacque Lewis(2nd RB), Hilee Taylor(2nd DE), Edwards(top OLB), and had their 3rd string RB Chad Scott run for 160+ against Miami. Overcame consecutive punts of 18 and 15 yards by UNC's punter, and two scoreless red zone oppurtunities. To top it off, their freshman kicker sealed the win.
