  1. Murton was rated as the Red Sox' 5th best prospect. Here are his strengths and weaknesses. His numbers weren't too great last year, don't know about this year. Strengths: Murton got pull conscious and lengthened his swing last spring, but he hits better with wood bats because he shortens his stroke and lets his power come naturally. The Cape’s 2002 home run derby winner, he has more pop than any hitter in the system. Boston makes all of its players in Class A or below keep notebooks on hitting, something Murton already did on his own. He runs well for his size and is a four-tool player. Weaknesses: Murton’s weak throwing arm relegates him to left field. His swing has more effort than Murphy’s does. If he gets much bigger or stronger, his speed and range likely will dip below average.
  2. Basically he had 3 great starts in early to mid July, only giving up 1 ER in each. Then his last 2 starts have been terrible, those are the two I'm betting Ozzie was talking about that he was tipping his pitches.
  3. Means he's doing something different on each pitch. They simply watch what motion he does and they know what pitch is coming. It happens to alot of pitchers, their own team usually doesn't notice until an opposing player mentions it after the series is over.
  4. Cabrera is a very nice SS, the Red Sox did well. Orlando is solid defensively and offensively. You will see.
  5. I have to say, thats a pretty even trade. If anyone gets screwed a little its the Cubs, but Nomar is a heck of a player also.

  7. As much as I like Peter for being a Tar Heel. He's completely nuts. Also they could have talked Randy into accepting a trade to LA.
  8. Tony if you want some good advice, don't read the boards after a loss. Its always gonna be this way. I have been modding another board for 5 years now and its ALWAYS been that way. You have some good opinions and shouldn't leave because of negativity. Just my opinion.
  9. Philly used to be excited about Justin and Pavel's potential also, they just never lived up to it. Now its Gagne that the fans have turned on and are ready to let go.
  10. Sean May's a good player from the Bloomington area. Also to the Oden wanting college right now thing. Thats what they all said when they were young. Dwight Howard was completely set on going to college, he is even going to take classes at UNC while in the NBA. The lure of multi millions is too much for anyone to pass up, especially being the #1 draft pick. That would be insane to pass up for him.
  11. Guys, Oden has about as much of a chance of going to college as Lebron did. He's already starting to get that kind of hype. Derrick Caracter will likely be following him along.
  12. I'm all for getting Hairston. He can hit for average and steal bases and play defense. I'm just not sure which one should play 2nd base and where the other one would play. Would Jerry be in CF or RF? Also I would wonder if Jerry could stay off the injured list. Dave Roberts would be decent, but his average has been terrible the last few years.
  13. I didn't know that about him. I guess that cartoon was more right than I wanted to admit. I wonder if he's gonna follow in Nate Newton's ways...
  14. lol I'm sorry I meant as in prospects, that why I posted it here. I will go back and change to make it more clear.
  15. Since we are close to the deadline. I wanted to see who everyone thinks should be untouchable prospects in trades. I have a short list. 1. Sweeney 1A. Anderson 2. BMac 3. Valido 3A. Schurnstein
  16. As much as I'm enjoying these arguments. I think everyone has made their points. Don't want to tell any mods how to do their jobs as I hate when people do that to me, but lockdown?
  17. Well thats what I get for posting half asleep lol.
  18. Timo just takes some bad lines to the ball. That complicates the problem with his average speed.
  19. I guess this could have come from the promotion of Gio. If Winston and Birmingham didn't have any room.
  20. That is the strangest promotion I have seen in a long long time.
  21. Its part of baseball, just like spiking someone and beaning someone in the head with the baseball is part of the game. But in most cases there is payback for those incidents, which is also part of baseball. But not for Ozzie... Anyways, nobody is going to win this argument, just let my thread die a peaceful death.
  22. lol look what I started. All this arguing from us and Tori is just laughing his ass off tearing up catchers, getting rbi's, and stealing bases. :puke
  23. I guess because he did what people didn't like. He chose to be happy himself over making others happy. He's not a moron, he just made this decision at the wrong time.
  24. Yes but UNC didn't get passed on the court. They got passed through revision of record books. With Roy back the records likely aren't going to change much, both Tubby and Roy are gonna have very good teams for a while. I also expect ND to have a nice year, Torin Francis needs to step his play up.
