Yep its been a pretty rough offseason. Mike Rozier is also about to sign with Boston as a 14th round pick. But he's gonna be getting late first round pick money lol. That would have been just about a Rice rotation in the future with Andrew Miller, Daniel Bard, Nick Adenhart, and Mike Rozier. Oh well they will be fine, they have been recruiting out of this world the last 3 years.

UNC also passed UK for the most wins all time. Then UK went back in their records and "found" some wins they didn't count before. rolleyeyes.gif

"Oh yeah you can cheapshot us and try to injure us all you want, but we are gonna do what we try to do every game, but this time we are gonna try EVEN harder. So take that!!!!!"
-
I agree about that. Doesn't need to be out of their way, doesn't even have to be tomorrow, just sometime when we are up and a pitcher is in the game that isn't that important. But what does it matter about calling him an asshole all night long? What else is there to say? We got our beat by our biggest rivals and had a cheap shot in the game also, personally I feel a little better ranting and calling him names lol.
-
Whats to stop every team from cheap shotting us all the time aboz? If you don't stand up for yourself then its gonna keep happening. There is no room in baseball for what Tori did, he could have given Jamie a concussion for no reason. Its not something you just move on with. As Jim said, its a nuance of baseball. You not only protect your own players, but you protect the integrity of the game.
-
I agree 100% Jim. I've been very dissapointed with Ozzie taking up for his players. I remember another game Frank was hit 2 or 3 times and nothing happened.
-
Now that I think about it, with the way Jackson has been pitching recently, if he would have thrown at Torii's head it would have likely been right down the middle for a HR.
-
I guess Ozzie is a lover and not a fighter. Torii better watch his ass literally after the game. lol j/k
-
Well that was a bunch of buildup for nothing.

Man I just had a big post typed out with the players I liked. Basically it was some of the same guys mentioned here and all the UNC players that are in the minors. But then cheap ass Hunter had to cheap shot Burke and I went ballistic and attacked the tv and somehow lost the post. Also Jason I saw that the Angels signed Adenhart, thats a heck of a pickup and a nice gamble. Can't blame Nick for taking the money.

Another hitter would be good and all, but if this team would just come through when we need to we would be fine. I can't even fathom how many times we have had rally killers from DP balls lately. We get two guys on and nobody out and then hit a DP every damn time. PK is doing good hitting solo hr's, but he's also hitting into DP's almost every chance. Everyone has to step up better.
-
I definitely don't want Garcia throwing at him. Maybe if Politte comes in in the 8th we can see a 96 mph heater at his head. I want blood, but then again it wouldn't suprise me if nothing came of it. Ozzie doesn't seem to like to retaliate which is good and bad.
-
After that cheap-shot at Burke Torii better be wondering where he is his next at bat.

Forgettable Sports Momemts

First off whitesoxfan247 great band on your avatar. Now my bad sports story is about my temper lol. I played basketball since I was about 5 years old. One game when I was 13 I was running down for an easy layup, but out of nowhere this kid comes flying in and knocks me to the wall and I miss the layup. Unbelievably no foul was called either, but unfortunately that set my temper off. So I ran down the court as fast as I could and I was flying, I layed down a Brian Urlacher type tackle on the poor kid. Completely blind-sided him. Needless to say the refs were stunned, but they didn't even give me a technical, much less throw me out. They were just asking me to calm down. I guess that wasn't the refs best day either Also another funny/sad type story. When I played T-ball back in kindergarten we had this kid that was always huge. He as probably 120 pounds in kindergarten. Anyways, he was on the team also and EVERY time he would hit the ball he would completely crush it and we didn't have fences so the ball just kept rolling and rolling past 300 feet. They would have 3-4 kids out there running after it every play and the big kid would run the bases but unfortunately as no suprise, he wasn't very fast at all. Every single at-bat it would be a race to see how fast they could get to the ball and get it back in and seeing our kid lumber around the bases. It was about a 50-50 chance of a homer or a throw-out at home. -
The only thing wrong with Ricky's retiring is what has been mentioned, the timing. He should have done this before the draft so they could get a replacement. But, I can't blame himi for wanting to get out now, if its what makes him happy then good for him. Lots of people couldn't turn down the money and fame he receives. Also as to the 4 yards per carry thing, anything at 4 or over is very good for a running back that is over 1000 yards. You have to be a good player to be able to carry the ball 300+ times for 4-5 years in a row. Just take a look at my favorite player Jerome Bettis. His career average is 4 per carry and he's one of the top 10 running backs of all time. His greatness is in his durability. I will admit Ricky's 3.5 ypc last year was lacking. But being able to carry the ball 392 times is pretty special. 1000 yards is decent for a back, 1200 is the mark of a good running back.

Qyntel Woods was supposed to be the next McGrady coming out of the draft. Hopefully he will live up to some of that potential finally. As for Duhon, if he ever gets over that horrible rib problem he could be something lol sorry just kind of an inside joke, announcers all last year kept saying how heroic he was for playing with hurt ribs, it went on and on and on for like 3 months with supposed hurt ribs. -
I guess I'm the only one who thinks Ozzie could have been hinting that Luis Gonzales was available. That could be a good pick-up in my opinion.
-
I would rather go after Melvin Mora if the O's believe they are out of it. He could play lots of different positions for us and give us solid offense also and I believe he's also a good clubhouse guy.

I'm man enough to bring this back up and say maybe I'm wrong. Here's some new accusations. We will see how it plays out. I will say this, if she did use performance enhancing drugs then she's the biggest loser in the world to me now. http://sports.espn.go.com/oly/summer04/tra...tory?id=1844888 -
Actually if you are talking about right now UNC would be in the top 32. UConn would be number one and GT would be number 2.
