  1. Kansas would have to be considered in the top 5 with 2 championships and 3rd all time in wins. I would put the programs right now in this order. 1. Kentucky 2. UNC 3. UCLA 4. Kansas 5. Duke
  2. Take a look at our last 11 1st round picks before this year. Not a single one has become a star for us or even contributed a whole lot. Lets hope Brian and Josh can break that streak. 4-5 years ago I used to think we had amazing scouts, now I'm not so sure they aren't just average. Yes I realize that 1st round picks are the picks that show the least about the scouts. The later picks are a true measure of the scouting ability. But you would have to think we would atleast luck into a star with one of our first round picks. I also realize that bad luck has come into play with injuries to Honel and Stumm. But those picks were just disturbing to me. Maybe its just me. 1992 Eddie Pearson 1993 Scott Christman 1994 Mark Johnson 1995 Jeff Liefer 1996 *Bobby Seay 1997 Jason Dellaero 1998 Kip Wells 1999 Jason Stumm 2000 Joe Borchard 2001 Kris Honel 2002 Royce Ring 2003 Brian Anderson
  3. lol forget my wallet, I'm just hoping I make it back with my dignity.
  4. lol you old fart, I knew I was supposed to be looking up to you. I'm gonna be in Vegas for 21, hopefully I make it back ;-).
  5. Brian Butch will be one of the best freshmen in the nation and will help Wisconsin out down low. That might be the first and last time I will ever see a Mickey D's AA red-shirt.
  6. BTW Wsoxshuf how long have you been attending UNC ;-). Also FSU is building a very nice program in basketball also, they have been getting top 100 recruits right and left.
  7. UConn will be good again, but they will probably struggle somewhat early on after losing Gordon and Okafor. They are alot like Texas, very very talented, but younger players will have to step up big time. Rudy Gay is one of the top 5 incoming freshman for UConn. Just for anyone who cares to know, here's my list of "diaper dandies" for next year. I'm only gonna pick the top 5, regardless of position. Rudy Gay, UConn Marvin Williams, UNC DJ White, IU (everyone just loves to see him play down low) Malik Hairston, Oregon (because he will be the main man at Oregon) Glen Davis, LSU (because he will be unstoppable down low) But overall Kentucky has the best class with Rajon Rondo at PG, Joe Crawford at SG, and Randolph Morris at C. All 3 will be very good.
  8. lol all you youngin's. I'm gonna feel really old in a month when I turn 21.
  9. Valido is still only 19 years old. He seems to have run into a big slump like our other SS of the future hope Andy Gonzales. Andy seems to have gotten it back together. I'm sure Robert will be ok also. Clint King put up big power numbers as a center fielder in college. I think he's a guy that could come up to the big leagues at 25-26 years old and put up nice numbers like Rowand is doing. Nachreiner has always had very good stuff, but a lack of control. He still has lots of time to get it together. We have been taking lots of chances with eratic power arms in the last few drafts and unfortunately most haven't been working out so far.
  10. lol well dang, thats what I get for not reading huh. Thats a little tougher, but your on anyways :-).
  11. Hey greasy I have a question for you since you seem to be a Colts fan. How do the Colts view David Thornton now? He was a special guy as UNC, came as a walk-on and worked his ass off to get where he is with nothing given to him at all. I know he performed well last year. I watched him play alot on the Directv football package, but I also heard they were thinking about replacing him because he over-ran some plays. Just wondering if you knew anything about if he's gonna start this year.
  12. I would LOVE to take that bet of UNC not making the sweet 16.
  13. Don't count out the Hornets. Tim Floyd is indeed a horrible coach, but, they also had to deal with tons and tons of injuries last year. They will definitely challenge in the West. They will end up with a 6th-8th seed.
  14. In a few years the Bulls are going to want to have the top pick when Greg Oden comes out. He's a type of big man that could dominate the game like Garnett, Duncan, Shaq etc. Keep an eye out for him, Derrick Caracter isn't too bad either. They will both be HS seniors and 2 of the top picks in the 2006 draft. I know thats far away, but just letting anyone that cares know.
  15. Oh come on, thats like saying if your spouse cheats on you, then you must be a cheater also. Does Marion look bad for being around CJ? Definitely. But I'm waiting for more evidence before we start the witch hunts all over again.
  16. I can't refute any of those comments either about Jones. If any that he's not, its selfish. But, he is indeed a choker and timid. However, he will only have to be the 3rd option for this team, I think that will be fine for him.
  17. Her name has been mentioned with BALCO because she was married to CJ Hunter, who was banned for illegal substance use. Basically what I'm saying is that we should see how it plays out before we automatically assume people have taken steroids. Right now I see more evidence that Marion didn't take drugs, than she did. Whats has gone on so far is that Conte said he gave Marion and Tim Montgomery drugs in exchange for endorsing his products. Both Marion and Tim denied ever getting anything from him, and there isn't an endorsement deal there for either one. Marion has also passed a lie detector test given by polygraph professionals. Here's a site with all the info on steroids etc and the stories as the broke. http://www.ktvu.com/balco/index.html
  18. He's played in over 83% of possible games in his career, and he played 73 games last year, but carry on.
  19. As much as I like VC and defend him on this board, I don't think that would be good for anyone. The expectations and comparison's to Jordan would be non-stop then. Vince doesn't have the same win at all costs attitude that MJ had, and I'm not at all saying MJ's attitude was wrong. Just that in Vince's life, basketball comes 2nd, which keeps him from becoming a great player in my opinion. Vince needs to play somewhere with a dominant big man, he's more of a great 2nd option than a star to lead a team to a championship. He would fit in great with someone like Garnett, or Duncan as a #2 option.
  20. I've noticed alot of people on this board keep saying Vince is very over-rated. Would someone explain why? Nobody in the media is saying he's even on Kobe's level, just that he's one of the top 2 guards in the NBA. I don't see how anyone can refute that. Someone please help me out here. And yes someone please give me the "he hasn't taken his team anywhere" argument or even the "he is whining about wanting to be traded" argument. I would love that.
  21. This is a pretty neat thing we have going now. We can accuse anyone of anything and everyone will believe it regardless. Of course Marion had to take drugs to win right? I'm sure Jackie-Joyner Kersee and Flo-Jo were on drugs also right? Yes I know all about CJ Hunter etc, and of course Tim Montgomery had to also be on drugs. Don't forget about Lance Armstrong also. Michael Vick has to be next on the list of accusing right? I just love it, Marion recently passed a lie detector test saying she never has taken any performance enhancing drugs. But I'm sure she cheated there also.
  22. How can you possibly say Vince isn't a star? Overrated? Probably. But he's definitely a star. He puts up great numbers and puts fans in the seat, thats a star to me and most. As for the Heat or Lakers, the Heat are in a horrible division and should pile up wins within it. I would definitely say the Lakers will have more talent overall, but, they don't have Shaq anymore. That means more than Kobe will ever realize. Wade is unguardable on the perimeter and Shaq is unstoppable down low. However, Dwyane is going to have to improve his 3 point shooting because he will get lots of chances this year and thats not a strength right now. Lamar is an awesome player that is just coming into his own, but I can't see him playing PF in the West against KG, Duncan, Webber, Dirk and such. But he will create mismatches on the offensive end. That could be a volatile clubhouse again though adding Odom's personality to Kobe's.
  23. My head is going to explode trying to decide. I just can't choose between NCAA Football or Madden. I buy both games every year right when they come out and I've been playing Madden for over 10 years. So I guess I have to go with Madden.
  24. I think Rios is already up with the Jays, could be wrong. But also if David Wright a 3B of the Mets isn't up yet, he could be a good choice. Dallas McPherson could be a good choice if the Angels can find playing room, or trade him. Matt Cain of the Giants is a very good pitching prospect in AA now, but he's still young. Carlos Quentin could help the Diamondbacks out soon with their rebuilding.
  25. I have mixed feelings about getting Shaq as a Heat fan. I'm excited about getting Shaq and what he brings to the Heat. I'm also excited to see Wade play with Shaq. However, the Heat still have alot of work to do to become real contenders. With their MLE and LLE they have to find a PF to play beside Shaq, someone like Stromile Swift or Keon Clark. On the downside with Shaq, who knows if he will actually lose weight and stay healthy. The Heat right now would be one injury(Shaq) away from Dwyane Wade having to average 50 a game :-(. Another plus is that if Shaq doesn't re-sign, the Heat will have over 30 mill in cap space next year.
