I agree about the luck, it wasn't any one person that lost this game for the Pistons. It was a collective suckiness :-(. I'm hoping their luck runs out this year, my heart will be broken otherwise.

Yeah but Rip never could create anything on his own and had to pass off everytime he wasn't open on a screen. Kobe is clutch, I have finally come to accept that. I knew already that the Pistons had to score when they were up 3 with 30 seconds to go, because I knew Kobe would make the 3. He is a great player, MJ? NO, but he's as good as it gets right now at the guard position. The Lakers were -24 when Shaq was out of the game these playoffs, that shows Kobe is no MJ. MJ had to carry the Bulls everynight with his scoring. If the Pistons don't win atleast 2 of 3 at home, its over.

By the way, I want to take back any compliments and hype I had for Rip Hamilton. Just when it looked like he was breaking, he doesn't show up for the Lakers series. Ben Wallace should catch even more flack for his horrendous free throw shooting than Shaq, Shaq has a legitimate reason for sucking. He is huge and his hands are the size of the ball. Ben is a regular sized big man and shouldn't be shooting 2-8 from the line in the biggest game of his career. GOD the Lakers sicken me, I'm still fuming.

Pistons gave the game away, who knows why they keep giving it to Rasheed for last second shots, he is anti-clutch. Both times in the playoffs he got the ball for the last second shot and couldn't even catch either pass and never got a shot off, and the Pistons lost both games. Larry Brown is letting his Tar Heel bias get in the way of giving it to Billups or Hamiton. GOD I hate Kobe!!! and everything about the Lakers.

Ohio State Fires Basketball Coach O'Brien

He's not leaving Lubbock, atleast I would be shocked if he did. He has places to hunt and its low key so he can stay out of the press hopefully. He's not as bad of a guy as everyone thinks he is. He gave all of last years salary back to the university because he felt the team didn't play well enough. He makes his players do their school work first and if they don't, they don't play. He just has a personality problem lol. -
A little sooner than I thought they would take him, but ok.

About Viola, Viola is a tall, lean righty who has committed to Central Florida. His father, by the same name, was a major league lefty for a number of years. Logan Williamson is a great late pick also, a very good lefty.
-
I can't imagine the abuse he must have taken with that last name though.

After losing Bartolo Colon and Tom Gordon to free agency, the White Sox had six of the first 69 picks. It took $5.2 million to sign those picks in the 2003 draft but Shaffer indicated the Sox had been given sufficient budget to sign all their picks. "We did our homework (with the picks), talked to agents,'' he said. "Jerry Reinsdorf has been tremendous … He said take the best players and that's what we did, and we got 'em.''

A few Josh Fields quotes that show he's gonna be a baseball guy for sure. "There's always been something about baseball,'' Fields said. "I love the way it is in the clubhouse, around the dugout and on the field … It will be hard to leave all my (football) teammates, my friends. I've had so many experiences, so many good times at Oklahoma State. But they all understand my situation.'' "In the fall when everybody was working on their (baseball) skills, I was recuperating,'' Fields said. "When you get hit in football, it can take a week to feel OK again. I'm so excited to concentrate on one sport.'' A native of Stillwater, Okla., Fields first paid attention to the White Sox when they selected Oklahoma State's Robin Ventura in the first round of the 1988 draft. He says he adopted the Sox as one of his favorite teams after playing a video game that bore Frank Thomas' name. "I wanted to have all my favorite teams in one city, so I was a Bulls, White Sox guy,'' Fields said. "There're a lot of Cub fans around here, for some reason, so I caught grief for being a Bulls, White Sox fan.'' I like him ALOT already :-)

Brian Flores While most of New Mexico's best high school talent was on one team, two lefthanders managed to attract attention. Brian Flores flashed a quick arm and touched 91. Mike Dubee Dubee is a long, lanky righty with upside on the mound. He threw in the mid-80s over the summer with the makings of a good curveball. Could project into a very good high-D1 pitcher.

I just don't really see how that incident with his mom should have effected his draft position at all. Maybe the fact he didn't play half the season or whatever, but that doesn't say anything about his character over what his mom did about his little bro's playing time. I'm sure his mom made him feel bad for playing while his little brother can't, either that or he just wanted to stick up for his brother. Either way, I think we got ourselves a good one, with a nagging parent lol.

Isn't Larish a junior? He might be wanting to go back to play another year to improve his stock.
-
David Price didn't get picked today. I'm watching him pitch in a high school all-star game, he's not doing too bad. Had some bad defense behind him, but he's tall at 6'4 and VERY skinny, but has nice stuff. He would be worth it to draft late and offer him top 10 round money just to see.

That was actually a compliment for Ray about the scoring, over 23 a game this year. We just have differring opinions about players. I think Micheal Finley is now overrated, he used to be under-rated. I can't possibly add Allan Houston to a top 10 list, all he does is shoot. I think you are gonna be suprised how good Rip will become, he will have a big game against Kobe that will suprise people. As for Lebron James, lol, if we are gonna keep adding players that COULD play SG we have to add Dwyane Wade to the top 10 for the future also.
-
I didn't realize how much Ray scored this year also, just looked at his stats. He would be an arguable top 5 SG also. If you want to add TMac in there, here's a new list 1. Kobe 2. TMac 3. Pierce 4. Iverson 5. Rip 6. Carter 7. Ray Allen 8. Micheal Redd After 1-2, or perhaps 1-2-3-4 its all arguable.

I know very well where McGrady played last season, I also know Ray Allen has the best looking shot in the NBA. I still stick with my decisions.
-
Running off picks is creating your own shot due to never tiring out. There are always gonna be 9 other people on the floor and he uses them to his advantage, and yes I know you mean create his own shot by dribbling. He can do that if neccessary, but he doesn't need to. I disagree that McGrady is a 2G, I think he's a SF. I also don't think Ray Allen is a top 5 SG, he's about 6 or 7 for me, just doesn't score enough to be that high for me. We just have differing opinions, who knows who's right. Nothing is going to be settled because its just opinions.

Well I'm heading off for a while, you guys have fun.

Just realized Gary Bakkar was our 11th round pick, as a UNC fan I'm very excited. He is a solid pitcher, he got lit up his last outing though and couldn't get through the first. But he has solid stuff and will be a solid pick in my opinion, about a 91 mph fastball. RHP Garry Bakker has been in North Carolina's rotation for three years and has made strides but lacks a true strikeout pitch. He has average stuff across the board, a good 6-foot-3, 190-pound frame and has pitched well against wood bats in the Cape.
-
I have to say, this is the pick I"m least excited about. I hope I'm proven wrong.
-
I consider McGrady a SF, and Iverson a PG somewhat, he could be considered a 2G so I will revise it. 1. Kobe 2. Pierce 3. Iverson 4. Rip Hamilton 5. Vince Carter
-
Rip plays nice defense, and he creates his own shots all the time by running people off of picks like Reggie Miller does/did. As for the 2 guard, my comment means shooting guard. In the NBA 1 is the point, 2 the SG, 3 SF and so on. So 2 guard is shooting guard. Here is my list of the top 5 2 guards in the NBA. 1. Kobe 2. Pierce 3. Rip Hamilton 4. Vince Carter 5. Michael Redd

I really think we got a heck of a steal with Donny Lucy, he sounds like he should have been a 1st round pick. He has EVERYTHING. Great defense, brains, and he hit 24 homers this year I read. I never read anything about him before the draft and now I'm shocked.
