  1. A TV market difference between the Big East and the Big 12 isn't much. The Big 12 has 7 of the top 50 media markets, and that doesn't include Albuquerque which is mainly a Big 12 city as well. However, I don't see any reason Notre Dame would join a conference unless they are allowed to keep their current TV contract and benefit from a conference contract. Texas will be making 15M with it's own network, plus whatever ESPN gives the Big 12-2 in a network in a year or so. Any big program joining the shotgun conglomeration of a conference called the Big 12 would be a mistake. Missouri, Kansas, Texas Tech, A&M, and even Texas will continue flirting with other conferences or independence in the next few years.
  2. TCU finally realized they will be shafted until they join a BCS league. Realizing this was impossible, they decided to join the Big East instead. In all seriousness, they will be a whipping boy if they join the league in basketball as well. http://www.nj.com/rutgers/index.ssf/2010/1...on_to_join.html
  3. Gruden apparently to take over Miami. Not sure what to think about that. I'm sure they will be dominant in recruiting, but that isn't the issue in Miami.
  4. QUOTE (fathom @ Nov 24, 2010 -> 11:13 AM) But Plumlee looks pretty damn good. As I said a few weeks ago, and I know you are a great cbball guy, is that Duke not being picked #1 by everyone is absolutely crazy. The younger Plumlee is very good. However, the rest of their guys down low will get taken advantage of. Playing a team like Minnesota would be a great matchup for Duke. Kentucky would be another very good match up, even without Kanter. Syracuse would provide a nice match up later in the year when Fab Melo gets in playing shape. Nobody from the Big 12 would provide a great game at the moment. The Big 12 looks like it will be a giant cluster@#$! of teams battling for seeds between the #3 and #9 seeds in the tourney. Duke should rip through the ACC without much problems. VT, UNC, FSU etc should be battling for #5 seeds at best at the end of the year. You will see plenty of times this year when the ACC only has one team ranked in the top 20 once conference play starts.
  5. QUOTE (Brian @ Nov 24, 2010 -> 06:46 AM) Damn. Duke maybe better than I thought/hoped. And I don't want them to be good. I just accepted that this Duke team was likely going to win back-to-back titles before the season started. Irving is a fantastic PG. The only thing that will hold Duke back again is their post play.
  6. QUOTE (danman31 @ Nov 20, 2010 -> 10:21 PM) Well yes. I'm still going to enjoy it though haha. Ha, I figured you would enjoy it. I just can't seeing that retarded fanbase win anything.
  7. Can't wait to hear what Pelini has to say for Nebraska after that game. It's pretty clear the Big 12 refs were told not to let Nebraska win at any cost as punishment for leaving. That was about as blatant as it can be.
  8. I was shocked by Minnesota. UNC played a terrible game, but Minnesota's mental mistakes were the only reason UNC was even in the game. UNC is not a top 10 team, we all knew that. But they will be a top 25 team if Roy Williams ever gets over his retarded love of upperclassmen.
  9. Drew is an awful player and Roy is an awful in-game coach, Tubby handed him his ass like I thought he would. If Roy can't overwhelm you with talent, he's in trouble. Minnesota is going to be very tough this year with some great size, nice athletes, and a very good in-game coach. Take care of the mental mistakes and they are a Sweet 16 contender. Harrison Barnes 0-15. Solid.
  10. Ha, you can't ever complain that UNC gets all the calls. They are getting taken to the woodshed by the refs tonight.
  11. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Nov 18, 2010 -> 09:52 AM) Very much looking forward to the Illinois-Texas game tonight. Hopefully they come out and make a statement. I'm still not sold that this team is a whole lot better than last year, but I guess we'll see what happens the next 3-4 days. Tristan Thompson is going to be very good, but Texas should get abused on the boards.
  12. QUOTE (Heads22 @ Nov 16, 2010 -> 08:49 AM) I love basketball. Certainly more than I enjoyed college football this year :-(.
  13. Mike Miller coming back will be huge for the Heat. But they still don't have a legit PG or C on the roster. I really hate watching this team play right now. Just awful.
  14. Kanter FINALLY ruled ineligible for Kentucky. http://sports.espn.go.com/ncb/news/story?id=5793192
  15. Another piece on Cam Newton. http://www.wtvm.com/Global/story.asp?S=13454296
  16. UNC people are feeling very good about Cody to UNC. I'm not so sure about it. But I don't really think Butler has a chance.
  17. Rex, I had a long post typed out. But I'll keep it short. IF these allegations are found to be true, can you at least agree that the kid is a piece of crap? I do agree that allegations that haven't been backed up with facts yet get passed around rampantly in the media these days, especially in SEC football circles.
  18. Not really surprised. Haslem and Bosh are atrocious defenders. I have always felt Haslem was a waste of court space, he doesn't do anything positive for the team. He gets a lot of rebounds, but it's mainly from his own pathetic shooting. Give his minutes to Joel Anthony and at least you have a defender on the floor.
  19. Looks like Wade is gone and Garrett will be taking over the Cowboys. http://dfw.cbslocal.com/2010/11/08/httpdfw...al-com20101108/
  20. Texas at 4-5 is insanity. They have 4 and 5 star kids backing up 4 and 5 star kids. This has to be the worst coaching job in history. They are in last place in the Big 12 South. Just insane.
  21. I'm constantly amazed how many people don't realize KG is a gigantic piece of s***. http://sports.espn.go.com/boston/nba/news/story?id=5759196
  22. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Nov 1, 2010 -> 01:32 PM) Preseason All-Americans: POY Barnes No pressure dude.
  23. UNC is at best a 15th-18th best team in the land right now, being in the top 10 is absurd yet again. Harrison Barnes might be the best player in the country, but the PG situation is still shaky, and there's not much depth inside. Illinois, Missouri, and Florida should be ahead of UNC at the very least. Patric Young will be a huge addition for Florida, especially if they will actually feed their post instead of having Boynton and Walker shoot them out of games.
