  1. It's really hard for me to cheer for LeBron and Wade as humans. The Heat have a completely different feel from the Timmy Hardaway, Zo days when I became a fan.
  2. I wouldn't normally do this, but my sisters work Outdoor Outreach could really use some votes, and I know we have a ton of good people posting here. The vote is for a grant for my sisters Outdoor Outreach branch in San Diego, they really could use the grant. If you can, please vote for "Outdoor Outreach" in the Most Creative Fundraiser category. http://www.stayclassy.org/classy-awards?city_id=1 The voting choice looks like this. Thanks, we really appreciate any help with this. Chris
  3. Heat will be lucky to win 64 games this year. Wade, Bosh, and LeBron will trade off stints on the DL. In fact, I think the roster will be a year full of the walking wounded. Ilgauskas isn't going to stay healthy, Miller hardly plays more than 70 games a year. I think Haslem might be the only player that plays over 70 games this year. LeBron will be the only mainstay during the season and I'm betting he gets rest before playoff time. I truly think Orlando will be the best team in the East next year, they have an insane amount of 3 point threats this year. However, they are a Dwight Howard injury away from disaster. My early guess at the top 4 in the East. 1. Orlando, 64 wins 2. Miami, 62 wins 3. Boston, 59 wins 4. Chicago, 54 wins
  4. QUOTE (fathom @ Oct 18, 2010 -> 02:46 PM) Illinois has 3 starters that are seniors. You won't find that very often in college basketball. I'm stunned to see any publication or expert not pick Duke to be #1. Michigan State over them? Say what? Yep, it's impossible not to have Duke at #1. Watching Irving run the point will not be fun.
  5. QUOTE (Heads22 @ Oct 4, 2010 -> 01:09 AM) So, yeah, beating Texas Tech this year was infinitely more enjoyable than winning in Lincoln last year. Probably because you guys pounded our ass on the ground.
  6. Good game Heads. Positive side is that your guys hopefully got this clown coaching staff sent packing.
  7. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Sep 28, 2010 -> 11:39 AM) The Vest is quietly hoarding top RB recruits year in and year out. Brionte Dunn just committed for the class of 2012, he will probably be yet another top 100 player at RB for JT joining Warren Ball who committed at the beginning of the month. 2 4 stars and a 3 star in your last 3 classes? Tuberville has 2 4 stars and 2 3 stars in this class alone :-P, and the number one RB in the nation Jonathan Gray's dad went to Texas Tech . Ohio State impresses me the most with your OL/DL recruiting, and I'm always surprised how much talent comes out of Ohio each year.
  8. Truly tragic for my White Sox fandom. The Jerry Manual days were fun when the kids could play, but it grew old very quickly. However, I have never despised a coach as much as I hate Ozzie. If we go into next year with spare parts and this clown crew in charge, it's going to be hard to feign any interest for me. Ugh.
  9. Jefferson is the worst QB in the nation from what I have seen this year. I could go out there and throw for 3,000 yards with Toliver, Randle, and Shephard as my receivers.
  10. QUOTE (chimpy2121 @ Sep 11, 2010 -> 03:47 PM) Fixed. If you don't play a perfect game, you aren't winning in Norman. They have the best homefield advantage in college football, it's just too bad Texas doesn't ever have to play there.
  11. QUOTE (zenryan @ Sep 6, 2010 -> 10:16 AM) Damn, do you think Butch stays after this season? Butch is probably the best talent evaluator in the country and while UNC has been a thorn in Miami's side, I'd hate to see him leave and cripple the UNC football program. I don't think anyone knows at this point. Wednesday is supposedly the day when bigger news is coming out, we will see. I enjoy Butch Davis as a talent evaluator, I just never felt good about having John Blake on the coaching staff.
  12. QUOTE (zenryan @ Sep 6, 2010 -> 03:31 AM) what are you hearing? I saw that Blake resigned but is falling on the sword or is there more rumblings? He is the main source of the problems, he has always been a dirty recruiter. However, it extends to the academic side as well, and might even go beyond football. It's very, very ugly.
  13. You can say goodbye to UNC football. Things are about to get especially ugly.
  14. QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ Sep 1, 2010 -> 09:53 AM) Here's my confusion: It works great in IE8, but not Chrome or Firefox. AND, it's only those pages (well, maybe other pages I;ve never been to). Every other page renders just fine. If you really want to change it, it kind of sucks, but in firefox you can go to... Tools - Options - Content Fonts & Colors - Advanced... Uncheck "Allow pages to choose their own fonts, instead of my selections above." Just make sure you choose a good font like Arial, Tahoma etc for your default sans-serif font. Edit: just realized this happens because some websites have fonts that you don't have installed on your computer so it displays as gibberish. To take it further, it looks like you are missing Helvetica.
  15. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Sep 1, 2010 -> 03:01 PM) So from everything im reading tonight the Big 10 will announce divisions split as follows: - Michigan, Nebraska, Iowa, Michigan State, Northwestern and Minnesota. - Ohio State, Penn State, Wisconsin, Purdue, Indiana and Illinois. Or as I will refer to them: Man's League: Ohio State, Penn State, Wisconsin, Purdue, Indiana and Illinois. Juniors: -Michigan, Nebraska, Iowa, Michigan State, Northwestern and Minnesota. Not sure why this is a competitive split. Outside of Iowa, the Juniors have to rely on Michigan becoming relevant again and Nebraska being as good as Wisconsin/PSU on a consistent basis. If it was me, I would have figured out the top 6 programs, and then split them. OSU is clearly #1, after that its murky but I think the next 3 are PSU, Iowa and Wisconsin (in no order). You then put Michigan and Nebraska in opposite divisions and youve got a good mix. Oh well I guess the road to the Big 10 Championship goes through Columbus. Fortunately Wisconsin has done better against OSU than most teams, but I have a feeling that most PSU, OSU and Wisconsin fans are going to be displeased with the split. Where as I expect Iowa, Nebraska fans are counting down the days. Nebraska has been on at least the level of everyone in the Big 10 outside of Ohio State in the past decade. Nebraska will probably win 10+ games this year again heading into Big 10 play.
  16. QUOTE (SnB @ Aug 24, 2010 -> 11:46 AM) I found the original roller coaster tycoon at my uncle's house over the weekend. What a fantastic game. Gotta love it, I bought an original Nintendo with the original Sim City just to play occasionally, it's still awesome.
  17. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Aug 24, 2010 -> 10:46 AM) Peter King annoys me as much as anyone else, but what did he say wrong??? If that first one had been a perfect game, that would have been 27+14=41 straight Indians retired. Am I missing something??? He should have added 13 & 2/3 perfect innings "against the same team", but thats it I think. ?? http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=4362558"" target="_blank"> http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=4362558
  18. I doubt it's a Flash issue now, ESPN has removed about 99% of their Flash objects on the home page. The only things that seem to be left are video players and the polls. However, the page does include a ton of javascript, which could be clashing with IE.
  19. QUOTE (Y2HH @ Aug 16, 2010 -> 06:12 PM) You can tell nobody likes any of us. It's your fault.
  20. QUOTE (Heads22 @ Aug 11, 2010 -> 07:35 PM) It's bad. Hilton Coliseum has water up to the parquet. I saw some pictures, it's insane how much water you guys got. Hope it doesn't do too much damage.
  21. QUOTE (Y2HH @ Aug 9, 2010 -> 08:36 AM) Well, in most cases I agree with you, with proper programming, a lot of the usual security concerns are of no consequence. Nice post. Importing libraries is a big issue in Flash file size, especially at run-time. Instead of just calling in a MovieClip, or a Graphic, lazy programmers will call in an entire library of objects because they are lazy or don't understand what they are doing. Which leads me into the main cause of Flash run-time issues, memory leaks. The Flash language developers didn't make garbage collection transparent in their development. You actually had to delete not only the object, but any other objects or references that have used the object at any point. Then you call in a garbage collection routine. Most developers didn't realize this and would end up having Flash memory leaks that would infinitely increase in size at run-time, eventually bogging down users computers. When you have 2,000+ lines of code in a program in a decent sized application it's easy to forget to delete an instance or a reference and you have just screwed the user. But, if done properly and used in it's niche, Flash can produce some amazing things such as this XML, deeplinking, flipbook/magazine. http://activeden.net/item/xml-flip-book-as...n_preview/63869
  22. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Aug 9, 2010 -> 08:07 AM) So, is Tiger Woods finished? Sooner or later he will get tired of losing and dive back in with making golf his entire life.
