QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ May 8, 2010 -> 04:04 PM) Apple developing Flash alternative named Gianduia Sounds like you write in Objective-C and it somehow translates into HTML5+JavaScript. There needs to be a set standard for web development, so I like this. I am a programmer in Flash and .NET, so I can see this from all sides. Flash ActionScript 4 needs to be compatible with HTML 5, or at least a giant step closer. .NET and Silverlight will have less work to do, but still have a funky setup of a XML/HTML mismash to run Silverlight. The Flash creative environment is still the best around and will continue to be, however having to install an extra plugin just to run a "language" is not the way of the future with HTML 5 implementation. HTML 5 offers a new "embed" tag that is used for Flash, but it still needs to be better from Adobe's side. Like Flash or not, it's not going anywhere for a while. But the implementation certainly needs to be improved.

I just don't see Kenny taking a chance on Adrian Gonzalez and his upcoming pricetag, not with 22k attendance at home games. Trading Konerko to Boston for 1B Lars Anderson and someone like OF Ryan Kalish or C Luis Exposito would seem to make sense for both sides. I think you have to hold AJ for a few weeks longer to let some of his value return. However, I'm all for seeing what Lucy and Flowers can do the rest of the way.

QUOTE (fathom @ May 7, 2010 -> 08:49 PM) This is the type of move that if it doesn't work out can get a manager fired. I'm constantly amazed that we still have fans in support of Ozzie. -
I'm very excited seeing what Dan Spencer has done at Texas Tech. Good shot at 2nd place in the Big 12 behind Texas with a demolished pitching staff and two freshman leading the offense. It's great having an alma-mater guy in charge of your program when your program actually shows great promise. Tech finished an epic series with Mizzou last week, that was fun to watch on my side, especially the last game :-).

Official 2010-2011 NCAA Football Thread

Looks like the Big 12 and the Pac 10 could be making an alliance soon, and eventually merge into a super conference. The conference would cover about 31% of the households in America with the Big 12 at 16% and the Pac 10 at 15%. Would seem to be a very smart move with the way the Big 10 and SEC are looking to expand. -
Just go get Michael Bourn already.

Short is my favorite prospect on Winston-Salem, and he has 18 hits in his last 10 games, however he needs to learn to take a walk before he gets moved up.

Wear twins transferring from UNC. Good in the long run, but really crappy for next year. -
There is no way this guy isn't BiPolar.

Speaking of OF's on Winston-Salem, it seems pretty clear that Justin Greene is ready for a shot at AA. However, Sanchez, Kuhn, and Shelby are blocking his way at OF. Mollenhauer and Justin Greene should switch locations, and have Kuhn play 2B for the Barons.

QUOTE (SoxAce @ May 4, 2010 -> 11:44 PM) I know Mitchell is hurt, but he ain't dead. Which is why he's clearly our top OF prospect. You might re-read my statement above.

Brandon Short vying for the 2nd best OF in our system with Trayce Thompson. Thompson had a tough night, but he seems to be holding his own for the most part so far. For anyone that has seen Short, is he a potential CF option in the future, or is his arm too weak?

QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ May 4, 2010 -> 10:05 PM) You totally made this thread and waited for me to reply so you could make that damn joke, didn't you? I was hoping for Sequoyah Stonecipher, but the Sox apparently didn't give a Buck. Are these Buck Coats jokes doing anything for you?
-
Our offense is cold, so we need Coats?
-
Calipari is just using the Bulls job as leverage for an even higher salary at Kentucky. Image the recruits he can buy when he gets a raise above his 4M current status.

Sox acquired OF Buck Coats from the Royals. Last place in hitting is no longer an option. http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2010/05/whit...buck-coats.html

Just thinking of a Heat-Bulls deal that could help both teams. Hinrich for Beasley and Daquan Cook. Beasley needs a legit PG to get him open for jumpers. Heat need a legit PG. Bulls free up some cap space. Heat would still be a James Jones + #18 pick for cap space away from 3 max free agents to pair with Hinrich.

QUOTE (knightni @ May 2, 2010 -> 03:55 PM) Michael Jordan's the reason that Chicago, Detroit, the Lakers, Cleveland, New York, Orlando, Houston, Utah, Phoenix, Seattle, Portland etc. don't have (more) championships. Fixed it. :-)
-
QUOTE (thxfrthmmrs @ May 2, 2010 -> 03:33 PM) lebron, wade, bosh don't win championship every season. there is only one of each of them in the league. teams has won in the past without those players, but with a solid core of players. so why only target lebron, wade and bosh, and if they are gone, then don't sign the so call "second tier players". there is a risk that a team signs lebron, wade or bosh will not win too. it all depends on fit and chemistry. i guarantee you wade will not put the bulls over the top. you can compare wade and bosh to payton and malone because supposedly they are the top level, but having payton and malone didn't help their team win either. I don't know if you are talking about Stockton-Malone, or Payton-Malone joining the Lakers during their final days. If you are talking about Stockton-Malone, Michael Jordan was the only reason that Stockton-Malone didn't have mutiple championships.

Only Scoop Jackson would write this article about Jamal Crawford at this point. http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/commentary/...=jackson/100430 ...somehow it made it's way onto the front of ESPN.com as well.

QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 28, 2010 -> 09:57 PM) You and I are on the same page. Can't we claim he stuck Nix in an electrical closet? Sounds good to me, go make a video of the closet and post it online, I'll contact the board.

QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 28, 2010 -> 09:56 PM) That's a game that should get a manager fired. Literally made every wrong move he could tonight. f*** YOU OZZIE! I just don't know how this clown keeps his job. This team doesn't have enough nearly enough talent to overcome a s***ty manager.
-
QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 28, 2010 -> 08:54 PM) You've got to be kidding me. Hey Ozzie, wake the f*** up! You have Jones and Beckham on the bench. I can't wait for him to be fired, and Pierre to get DFA'd with him. Preach it.

Looks like Larry Brown is on the move again to coach Philadelphia. Can't believe people still hire this clown for a year at a time.
