  1. Tech getting some nice payback for last year's debacle. 34-6 over OU with 13 minutes remaining.
  2. Mark Ingram has got to win the Heisman if Alabama wins out.
  3. UNC getting exposed. UNC is built like little school girls compared to the Syracuse players. I'm expecting a Sweet 16 berth at best this season, you just can't win a lot with no PG, and two senior leaders with gigantic holes in their game. Oh well, in no way fathomable are Ed Davis or Tyler Zeller ready for the NBA unless they want to flounder like Brandan Wright.
  4. Looks like Mangino was fired from Kansas. Well, maybe not fired yet, really hot water.
  5. QUOTE (Brian @ Nov 16, 2009 -> 08:15 PM) Did the guy get fouled on the heave? The camera work I saw was awful. Even the ridiculously biased Kentucky announcers admitted that Kentucky "was lucky to get a no call at the end there." One of the Miami assistant coaches was at mid-court with his arms in the air questioning the refs, but they were racing off the court to cash in.
  6. Another no-call at the end of the game. Miami's coach was just in shock, I wouldn't be surprised if he asked Calipari at the end there, "did you pay more for Wall or the refs?".
  7. Miami(OH) is just getting hosed against Kentucky. They were up 33-18 and the refs have taken over. 13 fouls for Miami to 3 for Kentucky and all the sudden it's 39-38.
  8. ha, I let out a scream after that announcement. Amazing.
  9. Haha, I'm at work sitting here listening to the Harrison Barnes live webcast. Goodness.
  10. QUOTE (Heads22 @ Nov 13, 2009 -> 10:19 AM) So, basically, no one has any clue where he's going, with people absolutely sure he's a Blue Devil, a Tar Heel, and a Cyclone. Absolutely nobody knows, and I have never seen a recruitment like this. Barnes and his family have been the ultimate professionals in the recruiting game.
  11. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Nov 12, 2009 -> 09:23 AM) How f-ing stupid do you have to be to do something like this while on a full ride to a bigtime SEC school? I will never understand this Something to the tune of "you can take the person out of the street, but you can't take the street out of the person". Ed Orgeron also said something to the effect of "we aren't recruiting choir boys".
  12. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Nov 8, 2009 -> 08:26 PM) i can agree with that, i'd rather have other running backs but yes, this season Chris Johnson has been better than your running back my personal top five: 1. Adrian Peterson 2. Steven Jackson 3. Frank Gore 4. Chris Johnson 5. MJD I like 3 of the 5. 1. AP 2. Steven Jackson 3. Chris Johnson 4. DeAngelo Williams 5. Michael Turner
  13. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Nov 8, 2009 -> 02:28 AM) awesome ending in the Houston/Tulsa game. down 8, Houston scores a TD with 21 secs left, gets sacked on the 2pt conversion, recover the onside kick, get about 30 yards in 18 seconds, and kick a 51 yarder to win it. the game won me a spread confidence pool, which is nice. Houston may move in the top 10 this week, they are an offensive juggernaut, but god forbid they even attempt to play defense Houston returns just about everyone next year including QB Case Keenum. Texas Tech gets to play them and TCU(who returns almost everyone) in their out of conference schedule next year. Joy.
  14. I would love to see Harrison shock the world and pick ISU, that would be great.
  15. QUOTE (Felix @ Nov 5, 2009 -> 10:41 PM) Gophers beat Duluth tonight 114-47. Damian Johnson was his typical awesome self with 16 points, 10 boards, four assists, seven steals and three blocks. This was the first time I've ever seen the Gophers score 100 and probably the last, but it was pretty damn enjoyable. Duluth had more turnovers than points well into the second half, they couldn't do anything. Which was expected, it was exhibition Jim Boheim says @#$! you. :-)
  16. QUOTE (ZoomSlowik @ Nov 5, 2009 -> 01:08 PM) Most of those guys are depth/role player types outside of Lucas, who won't be eligible until the second semester, and possibly Brown (haven't really seen him play). There's a reason that Texas struggled with their backcourt at times last year: it was all of those guys getting minutes and Abrams being forced to play the point for long stretches. Bradley is clearly the most talented player in the bunch and should get considerably more PT than the rest of those collected masses. I don't think it's a stretch to say he could replace most of AJ Abrams' production. That's a bit different than Henry's situation where Collins is clearly ahead of him on the list of scoring options and Taylor likely is as well. The problem is that Bradley isn't a PG, and would be out of position like AJ Abrams was as you mentioned. Bradley has senior Justin Mason, sophomore Varez Ward, and red-shirt frosh J'Covan Brown all in the 6'2 SG role vying for minutes along with Bradley. There's no doubt that Bradley is the most talented, but there's just too many talented cooks in the kitchen at the SG position for UT for Bradley to put up 15ppg. Never mind the post scoring ability with James, Pittman, Johnson, Jordan Hamilton, etc etc. I do admit that UT really needs his outside shooting this year. I'm guessing he posts somewhere between 10-12 ppg and returns to school for a heralded sophomore campaign.
  17. Insane recruitment of Barnes, now sources are saying that Duke is out, and it's between UNC and Kansas, with UNC in the clear lead. I'll believe it when it's finally over next Friday.
  18. QUOTE (ZoomSlowik @ Nov 4, 2009 -> 11:33 PM) Henry I can buy that argument, just threw him in there because he's another big name recruit coming into the conference. I would think Bradley will put up plenty of numbers for Texas though, he's pretty damn athletic, will be a key scoring option and could end up being their primary ball-handler as well. Don't forget that Texas has Dogus Balbay and Justin Mason returning as upperclassmen at the PG/SG role. They also have Jai Lucas, UF transfer, ready for PG minutes this year, as well as Varez Ward who might be the best athlete on the team along with Bradley. Bradley is a tremendous talent, but he's going to be playing in a group that is 5-6 deep with guys that can play and have more experience. I also forgot J'Covan Brown, who red-shirted last year, he will get some minutes as a red-shirt frosh at SG. Texas is loaded.
  19. QUOTE (ZoomSlowik @ Nov 4, 2009 -> 03:13 PM) How exactly is Gilstrap the pre-season Big 12 newcomer of the year? We're talking about a conference that's adding Avery Bradley, Wally Judge and Xavier Henry. That seems quite dumb to me... Bradley and Henry will have too much talent around them to put up huge numbers. Newcomer of the year should be a two man race between Wally Judge and Gilstrap. Gilstrap is an instant impact SF type that could end up averaging something like 15 and 7, depending on how much he feeds Brackins inside. They will challenge Collins and Aldrich for the best 1-2 punch in the Big 12. Well I'll also add my guy David Tairu in there as well for TTU, he's supposedly Ronald Ross II in practice so far. That would be fun.
  20. Wow, who knows what to expect from this UNC team. Gotta feel bad for Ryan Williams though, fumble cost VT the game, but he's an amazing back. Might be the most talented back in the nation as a red-shirt freshmen.
  21. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Oct 29, 2009 -> 11:26 AM) I never thought Shaun Alexander was all that good. Always seemed slow to me, I thought he was a product of a stud offensive line, especially with Jones & Hutchinson next to each other on the left side I think top RB's have a shelf-life of around 6-7 years of top performance before someone is looking to replace them. There's just so many guys at various levels that could come in and rush for 1,000 plus yards in the NFL that it's hard to keep a RB job locked down past 27-28 years old now. I think Adrian Peterson is going to get worn down by the time he's 27-28 as well, especially with as much punishment as he likes to give(right William Gay?).
  22. QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Oct 29, 2009 -> 08:36 AM) FSU is always a dark horse and they never put it together. Alabi has the potential to be a beast but it's gonna be hard for them to significantly improve the year after losing Tony Douglass IMO FSU has a ridiculous amount of talent now, almost their entire roster is made up of 4 and 5 star players. They also added a great defender in freshmen Michael Snaer. FSU, UNC, Duke, and GT have a close four horse race for the most talent in the ACC this year. FSU, GT, and UNC are more athletic than Duke. UNC and Duke are better coached, but having UNC at #4 and Duke in the top 10 is pretty absurd. UNC should be around 10-12 at best with questions at PG and SG.
  23. QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Oct 28, 2009 -> 03:46 PM) Yeah you gotta go with Kansas at this point. Kentucky could be awesome but way too many unknowns aright now. Texas is gonna be a real tough out too. I really like Villanova also. I've got a way too early Final 4 of... Michigan State, Texas, Kansas, West Virginia My dark horse is FSU, and my dark, dark horse is Richmond :-).
  24. QUOTE (ChWRoCk2 @ Oct 28, 2009 -> 03:36 PM) I'm real excited for Purdue to tip off its season. I still don't feel they can make a big run in the tourney because of their lack of down low players and their physical style but they have more experience. Who knows. Hummel needs to stay healthy. Byrd looks like a nice addition to the team judging from what I've watched in video clips. They look to have a strong recruiting class for next year. My early favorite to win the tourney is Kentucky, pretty sure that is just about everyone's favorite though. ?? Do you mean Kansas?
