  1. I have a love/hate relationship with ND. I hate... Lou Holtz Charlie Weis NBC contract T-shirt fans with holier-than-thou attitude. I like... Religious base(I respect it) Athletes admission requirements Game atmosphere(I like the colors and the leprechaun :-P). Alums are usually respectable in the NFL(Bettis ) Overall I'm happy with ND loses right now because Charlie Weis and Lou are hurt. But there's definitely other programs I would prefer to see lose like... Oklahoma (cheaters, don't graduate anyone, despicable program) Texas (admissions for athletes is a joke, NFL athletes are usually arrogant and dumb as bricks) USC (cheaters, all the talent in the world and usually just coast there way into 10+ wins) Alabama (cheaters, will do anything for football wins, the Kentucky of the football world) Florida (Urban Meyer is an @#$face, but I respect Tebow)
  2. Weeble's wobble but they won't fall down. So there's that.
  3. Colt McCoy will be given the award this year. His other two counterparts of the holy triumvirate have already gotten the award.
  4. QUOTE (chimpy2121 @ Sep 5, 2009 -> 09:24 PM) Yay BYU. Boo sucky ACC. Outside of John Shoop, UNC looked good. VT is doing a nice job against Bama right now as well. Looks like there could be a major separation between the top and bottom ACC teams.
  5. Georgia is going to have a tough time in the SEC this year. They have no rushing attack at all, and Cox is a game manager at best. If the defense struggles again then it could be a 7-5 type season.
  6. QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ Sep 5, 2009 -> 02:32 PM) Damn't why the hell is the Michigan game on TV rather than the Georgia-Oklahoma St. game. Nobody cares about this Michigan team outside of Ann Arbor. They are going to be awful. Try espn360.com
  7. Should be an amazing weekend for Barnes. BLUE TEAM Shammond Williams Ed Cota Ty Lawson Vince Carter Dante Calabria Jawad Williams Wayne Ellington Rashad McCants Brandan Wright Sean May WHITE TEAM Brendan Haywood Raymond Felton Bobby Frasor Jackie Manuel Jeff McInnis Danny Green Marvin Williams Rasheed Wallace Antawn Jamison Jerry Stackhouse "Coaches expected to attend include Larry Brown, John Kuester, George Karl, Dave Hanners, Pat Sullivan and Phil Ford. A host of other former players, including Ademola Okulaja, Hubert Davis, Eric Montross and Julius Peppers are expected to attend but will not play." Michael Jordan will also be in the house.
  8. QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ Sep 4, 2009 -> 12:25 AM) Wow what a sucker punch from that Oregon player. He is going to be suspended for a long time. He talked crap before the game and then couldn't handle it being thrown back in his face. I hope he's suspended for several games, but I'm not holding my breath.
  9. QUOTE (ObamaKnowsBest @ Sep 3, 2009 -> 01:27 PM) Can we get an explanation of this double play? Beckham hit the ball back to pitcher, pitcher bobbled, but Pods was just prancing in place between 2nd and 3rd for no reason, he was thrown out, and Beckham was just running between 1st and 2nd for some reason and ran into an easy double play.
  10. You forgot San Diego in there, so we are currently at 13th. As long as our pitching doesn't tank, I wouldn't mind letting some young guys come up and bat, and end up with a pick in the 10-12 range.
  11. QUOTE (Jimbo's Drinker @ Sep 1, 2009 -> 07:09 PM) thats funny as he will prob stay for one year anyways. Yep, but he's the rare kind of kid that truly does care about his degree and after basketball life. He's "unique", one of the brightest kids you will ever see, who also happens to be the best player in his class. It's going to make me sick if he's at Duke.
  12. QUOTE (Heads22 @ Sep 1, 2009 -> 02:12 PM) Harrison Barnes down to his top 6, but I think he's goin to Duke. Other schools are Iowa State, Kansas, Oklahoma, North Carolina and UCLA. Right now it seems Duke and Kansas are out front. However, UNC is making up a lot of ground and has him in for an official visit this weekend during a huge events weekend. One thing that is good for UNC is Harrison's desire for a very good business school, which Duke doesn't have. But I have said Duke all a long and I'm sticking with it.
  13. Nice pick-up for Jose. http://www.baseballamerica.com/statistics/...ds/?pl_id=62583
  14. Thome and cash for INF Justin Fuller per Gonzales. http://www.baseballamerica.com/statistics/...ds/?pl_id=58624
  15. Man, throw it to first there and you have an easy double play.
  16. Both Gary Ward and Von Joshua were fired because the team was struggling, and their teams put up better offensive numbers than Walker. They just weren't part of the good ol boy coaching club of the current Sox.
  17. Oklahoma, with more violations. Not a dirtier football program around. http://sports.espn.go.com/ncaa/news/story?id=4430129
  18. QUOTE (hammerhead johnson @ Aug 28, 2009 -> 12:18 AM) Roethlisberger ain't gonna be starting for anyone, which speaks to his fantasy value. In real life, he's more valuable than damn near half of the guys on that list. Yep, he's certainly more valuable to NFL teams than Fantasy sports. However, Ben posted 32 TD's and 11 INT's with a 104.1 rating in 2007 and has better weapons this year, so he could end up being a huge steal for someone.
  19. QUOTE (hammerhead johnson @ Aug 26, 2009 -> 06:53 PM) There's no way that McNabb can compare to Rivers at this point. One would only need to look at their respective game logs. I hesitate to diss Roethlisberger because he was so awesome in 2007, but his 2008 numbers are crap - a 1.1 TD-to-INT ratio with an 80 QB rating? Yikes. Nowhere near the same league. Rivers is obviously progressing, and then some. I don't know what Roethlisberger is doing - he's too inconsistent from year to year. If Rivers puts up another similar season this year then he will rocket up the top 5 chart and pass guys like McNabb. But I like McNabb more than most, he puts up consistent numbers each year and makes some absolutely mediocre WR's put up decent numbers. As for Ben, the Steelers OL has been putrid at worst, and average on it's best days since the departure of Alan Faneca and Jeff Hartings in 06. He takes a ridiculous beating every game and manages to put up numbers. In the old days up until 06, the Steelers obviously ran to set up the pass, but since the 05 superbowl the Steelers have passed to set up the run. Ben has the entire offense on his shoulders now. I hold my breath waiting for the hit that is going to put him out for a while, you can't take 46, 47, and 46 sacks each year and remain healthy. Instead of fixing the obvious weakness at OL, the Steelers have ignored it and taken "luxury" picks the past few years in the draft. So now the Steelers have excess talent at RB, WR, and LB, but journeymen and mediocre LT's getting franchise tags protecting the franchise QB yet again.
  20. QUOTE (SoxFan101 @ Aug 26, 2009 -> 04:33 PM) So the Cowboys fan thinks Romo is as good as Rivers and the Steelers fan thinks Big Ben is better than Rivers, while the rest seemingly disagree... interesting eh? QUOTE (Palehosefan @ Aug 26, 2009 -> 02:31 PM) Rivers and Ben are pretty equal as QB's. Rivers had more weapons and put up fantastic numbers, but Ben did more with less and didn't have the Chargers OL or rushing attack. If the Steelers OL has a nice turn-around, then Rivers' and Ben's numbers should be pretty similar. You can put Brady, Manning, McNabb, and Brees out in front. But the fight for the 5th position has a lot of contenders like Rivers, Romo, and Roethlisberger all around the same area. I would personally put Romo a notch behind Rivers and Roethlisberger, but if Romo can put up big numbers and put Dallas into the playoffs without TO, then he belongs in the same echelon. Chargers fans and Fantasy owners would take Rivers, and Steelers fans would take Big Ben. Polling owners and GM's on this would be an interesting proposition.
  21. QUOTE (T R U @ Aug 26, 2009 -> 02:07 PM) Donovan McNabb is a career comp% of 58, has one 30+ TD season, and has never thrown for over 4,000 yards. To be honest with you, 2004 was the only season he was "great" anyways. Big Ben was about as good as Orton last season. Hes a good QB as long as they are a run first team with that defense. Thats how hes been good. Cutler? You must be a Bears fan. Just because Kurt Warner has a really good season, which would make ONE in the past SEVEN, doesn't make him better than Rivers. Sorry. Romo is the only solid case you have made. Either way, Rivers is a top 5 QB in this league. Steelers haven't been a run first team really since Bettis left. Hard to put 5 QB's ahead of Ben. He was the Steelers entire offense last year. He was playing behind one of the worst OL's in the league and didn't have a running game to back him up. In 07 when he actually had a decent OL he put up tremendous numbers. He has the most weapons he has ever had this year, but the OL is still a question mark unfortunately. Don't know if he can take another season of pounding. Rivers and Ben are pretty equal as QB's. Rivers had more weapons and put up fantastic numbers, but Ben did more with less and didn't have the Chargers OL or rushing attack. If the Steelers OL has a nice turn-around, then Rivers' and Ben's numbers should be pretty similar.
