QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Aug 14, 2009 -> 11:18 AM) Wait did Ray Lewis kill someone or just try to cover it up? The "posse" that Lewis was with was involved in a murder, but Ray "somehow" didn't get much punishment.

I can't stand Vick and it makes me sick that he's back in the NFL, as I love animals and I own a pit bull which happens to be the sweetest dog I have ever been around. However, you can't give Stallworth any leniency in this deal. He wasn't just drunk, he wasn't just drunk and high, but he was drunk, high, and speeding when he killed the man crossing the street. He made a gigantic mistake and should be taking a year off from his job and be very thankful that's his biggest punishment. "Normal" people would have been fired from their job and have a very hard time finding another job with a DUI manslaughter on their record. Stallworth gets 30 days in jail, pays a fine, and will be playing football again in a year making millions again.

QUOTE (MHizzle85 @ Aug 13, 2009 -> 07:30 PM) Here's why I say what I did about the Stallworth situation. It's a tragedy, yes. But Stallworth has handled this as best as you can every step of the way. No prior records. Also, the family of the man who was killed seems to be okay with his joke of a jail sentence & whatever settlement that they recieved. I know Goodell wants to uphold the integrity of the league but this isn't a Pacman Jones or a Rae Carruth situation we're talking about here. Basically, it wasn't premeditated. Basically Stallworth is being made an example by good ol' Roger. It's not as if this is going to make players anymore aware of the dangers of driving under the influence. So instead of dealing with the situation in a positive manner, it's set to hang over the NFL all season. I'm sorry, but the guy got drunk and high and killed someone with his car. Just because the victims family was happy enough to exchange the family member for a large sum of money means that Stallworth deserves leniency? -

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Aug 8, 2009 -> 09:08 PM) Gameday has him called out on "Batters interference". That doesn't sound like a great bunt? It was a great bunt, but Gordon was called out for running inside the line, which is a horrendous rule. The bag is inside the freaking line, not sure where the hell Beckham is supposed to run. -
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Aug 8, 2009 -> 08:23 PM) Really, it'd be crazy to give up on him at 3rd already. Not really giving up on him, as Morel is clearly superior at 3B. It would be an interesting situation.
-
Our 3B prospects are looking good now. Viciedo bordering on a .280 average, and Morel up to .280 after a 3-4 night. If Morel gets moved up to AA soon, it will be interesting to see where Viciedo plays.

Confirmed: White Sox claim on Alex Rios on waivers

QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 7, 2009 -> 09:57 PM) Benching Pods for Rios would very possibly have a very bad impact on the clubhouse, in my opinion. I agree, it might screw up our defense, focus, and fundamentals. -

QUOTE (iamshack @ Aug 7, 2009 -> 09:45 PM) I agree. Throw them a bone. I think taking Rios' contract off their hands is a pretty nice bone that's already being thrown. Especially if we were the only team that did so. But if we throw them Lillibridge or someone similar I could understand. -
Phegley is hitting around .275 his last 7 games, hopefully he's coming around.

Looks like Bellamy deserves a shot at Winston Salem now.

I'm sure FutureSox has it covered, but I didn't realize Jim Gallagher got promoted to Birmingham as well.

Jermaine didn't think it was the 3rd out, he was just being lazy and nonchalanting it. Seems to be a specialty of this team.

Seeing Dye in the OF is just sickening. But will Ozzie punish someone for being lazy? Not a chance.
