  1. Just noticed a guy named Booter West is the first base umpired, that is greatness.
  2. Nuggets pissed the series away with that game. Never understood not having your PG inbound the ball in tough situations like that. Having a semi-retarded PF inbound the ball there is pretty strange.
  3. I think Kobe, Lebron, and Wade were all very close this year talent wise. The difference to me is that Kobe is 30 and at his peak, Wade is 27 and at or near his peak, and Lebron is still only 24 years old.
  4. Dale Mollenhauer is knocking on the door to Birmingham as well. He should get the call-up if Retherford or Beckham are brought up anytime soon.
  5. QUOTE (MexSoxFan#1 @ May 22, 2009 -> 10:48 PM) OK,let's not get carried away... I know this board will be one of the last to admit it, and I understand it well being a huge UNC fan. I vomit at the mention of Kobe being on the same level as Jordan, but Lebron is a different story for me. I just can't deny his talent and game changing ability. For each generation a player comes a long and changes the game in a way that the previous generations fans haven't seen before. Lebron is this generations game changer. For now, Lebron is just a great help defender, and not on the level of Michael's lockdown defender status, but Lebron is still only 24 as previously stated, he has a chance to get there.
  6. QUOTE (MexSoxFan#1 @ May 22, 2009 -> 10:39 PM) I'm not one to easily compare a player to MJ but that buzzer beater considering the situation was downright Jordanesque...the camera angle from behind the basket reminded me of MJ's shot against Ehlo a bit. I couldn't help but feel that this shot brought Lebron one step closer to MJ. If Lebron can improves his defense again, then it will be hard for me to seperate them.
  7. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 22, 2009 -> 08:49 PM) So does Floyd go back after the shutout with a two run lead now? It gives him a little room to work. I would bet he goes out until he gives up a base runner.
  8. Seems to me that Retherford has earned a shot at 3B more so than Beckham at this point.
  9. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 19, 2009 -> 10:41 PM) Beasley has a much, much, much better support system. At least for now. No doubt, Derrick Coleman put up some huge seasons having to carry that crappy franchise.
  10. Will be interesting to see who turns out better between Beasley and Griffin. Similar athleticism, size, and age, but different games right now. Griffin can't shoot the ball to save his life right now, but knows he's a post player and has Amare Stoudemire type athleticism and tenacity. Beasley can't make up his mind about whether he's a tweener or not. He can shoot the ball well from anywhere, but can't guard most SF's in the league and doesn't have the mindset to stick in the post. Right now it seems Beasley's game mimic's Derrick Coleman's and Blake Griffin is following Amare's path.
  11. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ May 15, 2009 -> 12:02 PM) How is Bob Sanders going to stay healthy? Every other season he manages to be healthy. 09: ?? 08: 6 games 07: 15 games 06: 4 games 05: 14 games 04: 6 games
  12. Some very good suggestions on the thread as well. HostGator is another good hosting site and WordPress is a good site management tool if you can sit down for a little bit and understand it. WordPress is also based off of PHP and MySQL and actually lets you see your changes immediately upon submission. Here is a nice website for web hosting reviews, http://www.webhostingreviews.com/index.htm GoDaddy has gotten it's worst marks for customer service, but their customer service has always been excellent for me in my 5 years with them. I can tell you one host to stay away from and that is IPowerWeb, they are unbelievably bad.
  13. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ May 15, 2009 -> 11:07 AM) I wouldn't be betting the Colts this year. They lost one of the best head coaches in the league, one of the best oline coaches in the league, and arguably the best offensive coordinator in the league. This is all after they somehow made the playoffs despite playing awful football most of the season (I know a Colts fan will probably jump on me for saying this, but I watched most of the Colts game last year and they were not a playoff caliber football team, nor were the Chargers). I think the Colts are a pretty safe bet to be a 10-6/11-5 type team next year. I really, really like Donald Brown and having Bob Sanders for a full season will be huge for the defense. I could see them having a season like the Arizona Cardinals in the playoffs, where the offense is fantastic and the defense does just enough.
  14. People will poopoo your choice of GoDaddy, but to be honest I have used them for several years and I'm pretty happy with them. Just be sure you choose the Linux/PHP hosting system over the Windows/ASP version just in case you want an easy email page on your site that will probably be run with PHP. Choosing a program with Adobe like Dreamweaver is a pretty good idea. Adobe is making great strides in everything from Flash, to Photoshop, to Dreamweaver. However, before you shell out several hundred for Dreamweaver, you might look into free HTML templates and see if you can get what you are wanting out of it. I'm a web developer for AMD, so if you need some help feel free to email me. If I can find some time I'll try and help you out. Chris
  15. If you look at career numbers, it's pretty interesting. MJ, 38.3 mpg, 30.1 ppg, 6.2 rpg, 5.3 apg, 2.3 spg, .8 bpg, 2.7 topg Lebron, 40.6 mpg, 27.5 ppg, 7 rpg, 6.7 apg, 1.8 spg, .8bpg, 3.26 topg Lebron and MJ's 3 point percentages are almost identical at .327 for MJ and .328 for Lebron, however MJ's field goal percentage of .497% is above Lebron's .471% and MJ's FT% was 84% compared to Lebron's 74%. This is taking into account Jordan's retarded Wizards days. Jordan also missed around 400 games because of his retirements. Jordan would have had well over 40,000 career points if he kept playing. Jordan was also an elite defender, something Kobe, Lebron, and Wade haven't reached. They are all very good defenders, but not on Jordan's level. MJ was on the NBA Defensive First Team 9 times. IF Lebron keeps improving his defense to the point that he becomes an elite defender, then the comparison will get messy.
  16. QUOTE (Ron @ May 6, 2009 -> 08:29 PM) That was a cheap shot by D-Fish. Some real chippy play out there by the Lake Show. Wow, and the Ron Artest loses his damn mind in the 4th. So much for Ron-Ron cleaning up his rep. I guess you missed the elbow to Artest's throat by Kobe, the subsequent foul call on Artest, and Kobe being a little b**** after.
  17. Man, the Lakers are a bunch of little b****es. I would LOVE to see Sciola and Artest beat Fischer and Kobe's ass.
  18. Harrison Barnes is headed to Duke, hard to deny that. He wears Duke shirts in his daily wardrobe and went with his family to surprise visit coach K on coach K's birthday. Really sucks as Barnes is a STUD. Future superstar in college and the NBA.
  19. QUOTE (lostfan @ Apr 25, 2009 -> 07:10 PM) lol my thoughts exactly... I'm not exactly opposed to trading out of the pick, but damn, I want a WR drafted. Trade down and end up with Brandon Tate, that would work out for you guys.
  20. Haha, another reason I love Mike Leach. Leach on Mangini's "diva" comments about Crabtree. Wildly entertaining Texas Tech coach Mike Leach just gave an effusive recommendation of Michael Crabtree, saying, "People don't realize the depth and commitment he has." Leach described Crabtree as "shy and reserved." In fact, he said, "There's no diva in him. He's too shy." Leach ripped into Mangini for not doing his homework on Crabtree. Leach said he never spoke to Mangini. "Let's see how those non-divas in Cleveland do (this season)."
  21. I cannot figure out where this attitude BS came about with Crabtree. He was one of the hardest workers on the team in college and a good overall dude. Very, very strange.
  22. Ah well, great pick, for Seattle. Cleveland, stay the hell away.
