I don't have a stake in it, but I think Purdue looks pretty good the rest of the way. -

Down goes Duke again -
Kurt Thomas dealt to Spurs for Elon, Barry, and an 09 1st. Nice answer by SA, Thomas can rebound and defend next to Duncan. Edit: saw on the ticker they changed it to an 09 1st.

There's always a few questionable selections each year. Most of the questionable selections come from the last 4 positions picked for the team. The first 20 players are chosen by a vote. The last 4 are chosen by Morgan Wooten and a select few. This year guys like UNC's Drew, Rutger's Rosario, UVA's Landesburg, and one more were the 4 chosen. Guys like Delvon Roe(injured earlier), Ty Walker, and Devin Ebanks were the biggest snubs. -

1. 2. now? -
I hope so. That would be in the best interest of the future, however Pat Riley has no interest in the future.

Thought I would post it here, Texas Tech's opening series with NIU was cancelled for good after both teams couldn't come up with a replacement date.

UNC will be solid again, led by Dustin Ackley and Tim Federowicz on offense. But pitching will be somewhat of a question. UNC has a ton of talent, but not a lot of experience after ace Woodard graduated and closer Carignan was drafted. Alex White should step up as the ace, but out of the 17 pitchers on roster, only 4 are juniors or seniors. Kendric Burney, who plays CF, and is also a starting CB on the football team, will suprise some people. He has tremendous defensive range and suprising power at only 5'10.

If it wasn't for Beasley's questionable attitude, and I realize that he's one of the youngest freshmen in the nation, then I could safely state that he's the best NBA prospect since Lebron. He's not missing much if he matures with age. 6'9 with muscle, length, athleticism, shooting touch, defensive ability/desire. The only question skillwise right now is his ballhandling, and it's about average. Great rebounder, very good shooter at 55% FG, 42% 3PT, and 74% FT. Even averages 1.5 steals and 1.6 blocks a game. I'm dying for the Heat to get to draft him. Another frosh PG candidate is Nick Calathes, averaging 15.2 ppg, 5.1 rpg, and 6.1 apg. -

Looks like #1 Memphis vs. #2 Tennessee. Go Tennessee :-). -
I'm willing to question Carter's desire to play basketball as much as anyone, but his numbers are only down scoring wise. Vince is averaging 20.5 ppg compared to his career 23.9 ppg, but his field goal percentage is the same and his rebounding and assist numbers are better. VC: 20.5 ppg, 5.1 apg, 5.6 rpg Jefferson: 23 ppg, 2.8 apg, 4.4 rpg It's not like he's one of even the top 20 paid players in the NBA. Utah could swap Kirilenko for him and end up with a hell of a trio. Carter and Williams would be the best passing backcourt in the NBA from day one.

Nets are getting a King's ransom for Kidd. Devin Harris 2 First round draft-picks 3 Million Dollars Desagna Diop Maurice Ager Trenton Hassell Compare that to Anthony Johnson 2nd round draft pick Shelden Williams Tyronn Lue Lorenzen Wright Yikes.
-
Shh don't tell. Atleast Shelden isn't eating himself into oblivion like Sean May. Don't even get me started on him.
-
The biggest piece in the trade was 33 year old Anthony Johnson averaging 6 points a game. Shelden Williams has been absolute garbage in the league and even worse this year than his miserable rookie season. I think that was a scary bad trade for Bibby. Basically the Hawks gathered a bunch of trash and the Kings were apparently impressed by the vast amount of trash gathered.

February 15, 2008 Sedrick Johnson still a Cyclone The Sedrick Johnson saga seems to be settled, for now. Johnson, the 6-foot-4 receiver from Arp who switched his commitment from A&M to Iowa State on the morning of National Signing Day, apparently had another change of heart after signing his name. Johnson wanted to commit to A&M again, thinking he could get out of his letter of intent to Iowa State because it did not have his mother's signature. But as of 11:15 a.m. Friday, his commitment returned to the Cyclones after he found out as an 18-year-old his signature was enough to make the letter of intent binding http://blogs.chron.com/aggies/...l_a_cyclon.html -

Unfortunately Roy doubted whether Lawson will even be able to play Wednesday against State as well. Who knows what is going on with that situation. -

Gotta love it, this just must not be UNC's year, and I'm never going to question recruiting over players again. UNC's injury list now. Frasor: out for season Lawson: out with ankle Thompson: questionable with hyper-extended knee Green: questionable with flu Ginyard: ankle injury, limited in play Hansbrough: turf toe, limited in play Quentin Thomas: back spasms, limited in play UNC's injured team could kick UNC's healthy teams butt. -

That moronic thug is the reason Lawson has been out. I'm hoping he gets suspended for the year. -

Scott Drew should definitely be one of Indiana's main targets for the job. He has done an amazing job at Baylor, and has as much talent as anyone but Kansas in the Big 12 now. -

I have seen kids change their mind after signing the LOI, but they had to sit out a year. I have never seen the NCAA grant a kid a release from his LOI just because he regretted his decision. That would be a horrible trend to start. I'm wanting the NCAA to offer an early signing period for football, and they seem to be wanting to make the late signing period have less teeth. Wonderful. -

How in the world do you get out of a LOI if you just changed your mind? Doesn't that defeat the whole purpose of signing an LOI?
