But hey, I can't talk too much crap tonight. UNC only beat Nichols State by 10 tonight and looked terrible. -

LOL Rex. Laughable? 4-5 with only wins over Central Arkansas, Liberty, Texas Southern, and Stony Brook is downright hilarious. -

Looks like Gillespie might be UK's version of Doherty. Can't even imagine how bad they would be if they didn't get Patterson later in the signing period. -

So, the tiny amount of revenue that is generated from ads should be donated by the guys that have put their own time and money into this site for all of us fans to enjoy should be given away? The only people that would have had problems with this are the people that don't have active-x controls blocked. Jason, Kap, and the others have put their own time and money into countless server costs, message board upgrades, etc over the years to keep this site up and running. They only recently started going to non-intrusive advertisements to make a tiny amount of cash to help the upkeep. This was one malicious company that fooled a lot of advertisees into running their ads. -

Yep, very "odd" recruitment. I don't want to disparage the Brown's or their handler, so I'm going to leave it alone. -

Yeah Rex, he has been on fire. A week earlier at Edgewood he scored 42 points on 18-23 shooting. He's averaging 33 points a game so far, and 44.5 in his last two. He's going to be amazing to watch in Roy's system. -

Now rumors that Nick Saban is talking to West Virginia. Guys like Saban and Petrino need to be put into a coaching temp program where they can coach a team for a month, and then move on. That way they can see what they want to do when they grow up :-P. -

Arthur Brown announces at 4:30 EST today. Down to UNC and Miami. Would be neat to get the #1 defensive recruit in the nation two years in a row. That and his brother is one of the top 25 players in the nation next year as a RB. -

I know it's pointless to argue this with an Ohio State fan, but I will anyways. How is he not going to have the right kind of players for his system? When he had Shaun King, he turned him into the all-time NCAA leader in passing efficiency and over 8,400 yards passing. When he had Woodrow Dantzler he turned him into the 1st player in NCAA history to throw for over 2,000 yards and rush for over 1,000 in a season when he finished with 2,578 passing yards and 1,061 rushing yards. When he had Pat White at QB and Slaton in the backfield, he turned them into the best rushing team in the nation. He takes whatever he is given and runs an effective spread. If Mallett is their QB, he will run a passing spread in a similar fashion to Shaun King's Tulane days. If Pryor is the QB, he will either run the balanced spread ala Dantzler, or the rushing spread ala Rasheed Marshall and Pat White. Who exactly in the Big 10 is going to have more talent in the Big 10 than Michigan? Michigan has had the best recruiting classes in the Big 10 in the past 5-10 years. Talent is not, and has not been the problem at UM. -

Like who? Vince Lombardi? Rich Rodriguez took a mediocre program and two 3 star recruits and turned the program into a top 10 team for the past 3 years. He's a great coach, whether it was his passing spread with Shaun King, his balanced spread with Woodrow Dantzler, or his running spread with Pat White. At 44 years old and at Michigan, I think he will go down as one of the all-time greats. If he manages to pull Pryor to UM, coupled with Sam McGuffie, that's going to be a nasty team to try and stop. He never pulled in many 5 star players at West Virginia and has been doing what he's doing with mostly 2 and 3 star recruits with a few 4 stars each year. -

Rich Rodriguez to Michigan? #1 QB Terrell Pryor said Rodriguez told him that Michigan offered a contract that he couldn't refuse and Pryor is now considering them hard. http://recruiting.scout.com/2/711864.html -

Jason where did you see those figures? I haven't seen any, but I'm guessing he will sign for somewhere between 2.5-3M a year to coach Arkansas, and will get some of the 20+M the Falcons were to give him. -
Gilbert, like Joe Johnson, is the type of player that gives GM's tons of heartburn. As a GM, you know what you are getting, and what you aren't getting. You know you are paying max or near max money for a player that will put up some points and put some fans in the seats. But you aren't going to win anything of significance with them leading the teams.

Yep, Arkansas is going to be good for a year or two before Petrino moves on. -
If teams would just put him at SG instead of PG, things would go alot smoother. He wouldn't quite be the same ball vacuum when the PG has a decision to give him the ball or not each possession instead of Gilbert having to create for his teammates.

Cowboy's have the #2 offense in the NFL and don't run up the stats on teams. They aren't exactly chopped liver. Giants are leading the league in sacks and should be able to pressure Brady as well as anyone all season long. The Giants also have a secondary that can intercept some passes and break up other passes. The Steelers secondary couldn't and hasn't done that all year. Quick 3 step drops have killed the Steelers since 2002 when Oakland exposed the Steelers and several teams since then other teams have passed 40+ times a game to beat the Steelers. The entire Steelers secondary has combined for 6 interceptions all year long, tied for last in the league with Philadelphia. The Steelers also get consistent pressure on the QB from every gap during a game, when you go to the middle of the field you get absolutely nothing on the Steelers, but when you go outside, you hit the jackpot. You combine all that with the Steelers having played in two horrendous condition games where passing was pretty much impossible for either team and the caliber and youth of QB's the Steelers have faced like Derek Anderson in his first start, Kellen Clemens, John Beck, Alex Smith, Matt Leinart etc and you can see how the numbers are skewed.

Not a whole lot out there about Dillard, but here's a writeup about him. Kevin Dillard Kevin is a 5'9 thin guard from Flossmoor, Illinois. He suits up for Tai Streets and the Mean Streets AAU team. Kevin was the first we saw Friday night when his team took on top ranked point guard Brandon Jennings and the Southern Cal All-Stars. Kevin controlled his team very well and understands what the coach wants out of his PG. He plays very good defense and is not afraid to mix it up with bigger guys. Kevin ended the game with 11 points and 8 assists. Mean Streets had a 21 point lead over the So.Cal. All-Stars but let it dwindle away when Brandon Jennings put his team on his back scoring 22 2nd half points. So.Cal. went up 4 with just under a minute when Kevin hit a 3 right in front of his bench to pull the team within 1. Then after fouling, Kevin hit another 3 from basically the same spot to put Mean Streets up for good (73-72). We also had the chance to see Kevin and Mean Streets play the North California Pharaohs in the round of 32. Kevin led the team with 17 and showed everyone that he can also control a game. With the game tied at 47 with just about 10 minutes to go in the 2nd half Kevin led his team on a 20 – 4 -
I agree with you for the most part Balta, especially about the RB talent part. With their late 1st taken away by the NFL, I could see them trading down and addressing the LB position and maybe a safety. Laurence Maroney and Sammy Morris do a good enough job when called upon and healthy. Some kind of package of Dallas' first round picks and Marion Barber for the chance to draft McFadden might be interesting for both teams.

LOL at 101. He's even an expert on my own teams now.

Giants should fare pretty well. They actually have an NFL caliber secondary unlike the Steelers, and have balance on offense. They can rush the ball and have Eli drop back and throw it to the other team :-).
