  1. Ken Williams first decision trade Borchard or not to trade him I've read several articles that show that he contradicts himself, first saying that he won't trade Borchard and later saying that he will. Next Decision wait a few weeks for Freddy Garcia or go after Thomo Ohka. Only time will tell what will actually happen and if Ken Williams is smart which the fans trust that he is he will make a trade soon
  2. me and southsidehitmen04 live in Nebraska almost no games here
  3. i didn't say the indians would trade Lee I'm just saying Williams wants Lee not that he'll get him. I don't think Garcia will do good at the Cell. IF the Expos are in last place in 2 weeks still... pull the trigger on Ohka or Livan.
  4. I ask you who is A-Rod's agent? Scott Boras Who is Chan Ho Park(the pitcher that Texas wants to get rid of)'s agent? Scott Boras Who is Todd Van Poppel's agent? Scott Boras Who is Mark Teixera's agent? Scott Boras The Rangers want to rid themselves of all of Boras' players. Also Teixera didn't sign a long-term deal so he's not technically the young ranger. Teixeira is potentially a great hitter, but the Rangers know they need good starting pitching, and Teixeira is thier most tradable player.
  5. I've been here for a couple of weeks you guys always talk about getting a left-handed bat. Look at most of the trade talk threads I say something in each one. Here are some people in my post that you haven't mentioned since I joined Teixera and McPherson everytime you mention Erstad I think to myself there is no way the Angels sitting in first place will trade him. Garcia is actually been talked about for a while and luckily for the Sox the fact is that the Mariners would be happy with Borchard and some other prospect. However I wouldn't even suggest getting Garcia look at his road ERA he pitches in a pitcher's paradise in SAFECO Park. Don't give me the crap of a proven starter and he can beat the Yanks tired of hearing it. What the SOx need is a starter who can beat the AL West (remember 2000). But if I was Ken Williams I would wait to see what actually is gonna happen in the NL East. Montreal is falling behind but their workhorse pitcher Livan Hernandez or Ohka. Ohka is 3-0 with 1.85 ERA in the last 30 days. If WIlliams doesn't want to wait and pulls the deal on Garcia who's been struggling as of the last few years then that would just plain suck. Ohka or Hernandez either one is doing great. Ohka needs run support and with the Sox's explosive lineup I'm sure he'll find that here. I actually heard that Cliff Lee is on Ken Williams' wish list. He's young and he's doing good right now and will be for a long time.
  6. Are you laughing because I root for Vanderbilt????
  7. Last year Ken Williams brought in Carl Everett and Roberto Alomar before the trading deadline. The Twins added Shannon Stewart around the all-star break so there's no use in saying that the White Sox won't pull off a trade soon. To fill in the back end of the rotation (#5 starter no wins since 2002) it looks like the sox will add Freddy Garcia. Also Mark Teixera is on the trade block for pitching. If Ken Williams somehow manages to pry Darrin Erstad from the Angels try to get Dallas McPherson who scouts say could be a 40 home run hitter. Also the Cubs are interested in getting Omar Vizquel and/or Brett Boone but who cares: :fthecubs
  8. Randy Johnson isn't going anywhere. The Diamondbacks no longer need to trade him. The D'Backs play in the weakest division in baseball this year so don't rule them out yet. The Red Sox have already proposed a trade to the Royals Carlos Beltran for Kevin Youkolis third basemen, Kelley Schoppach catcher, and pitcher Abe Alvarez. If Billy Beane would have stayed as the general manager at the REd SOx the A's would have gotten him in compensation. Youkolis is known as the greek god of walks.
  9. Random Thoughts for Now The Pirates vs. Cubs doubleheader on May 28 broke a record. Game 1 became the first game ever to have a pinch-hit grand slam and a walk-off grandslam in the same game. Congratulations to the Cincinatti Reds. They're in first place and looking like the contender that Griffey wanted to be traded to. Paul Wilson is looking like the future Cy Young that the Mets thought he would be. However he might not be the best pitcher in the city. Danny Graves already has 22 saves. So many people including myself thought for sure that Ryan WAgner would be the closer there by the end of the year and now it's looking like everyone's wrong. Other surprising closers include Matt Herges, Armando Benitez, and Jose Mesa. Probably the most surprising was Mesa. Mesa was so inconsistent last year that the Phillies acquired Mike Williams from the Pirates and was forced to trade for Billy WAgner. Maybe just maybe all the booing that the Phillies fans do actually upsets people. Ya think????
  10. who was the greatest white sock of all time. you can have many different answers to this. You could easily make an argument for many players including Frank Thomas, Mags, Robin Ventura, Shoeless Joe, Nellie FOx, Minnie Minoso and others. BUt you have to look at factors such as how they fared in the playoffs and world series, how they fared in the regular season and how they fared after they left the White SOx. My choice is FRank Thomas. FOr the first half of his career he was the model of consistency he always had good seasons (averaging 35.71 or 36 homeruns per season a .331 batting average and 118 rbi's per season) In 1998 he tailed off to just a .265 batting average 29 homers 109 rbi's not a big tail off but just enough for THomas. He came back strong in 2000 and told Baseball DIgest that they would win the division in 2000 and they did. In 1994 he led a very explosive WHite SOx that would have made the WOrld SEries if not for the strike. He deserved the MVP award but the WEst COast BIas kept him from it Every MVP in the American LEague since 1996 has come from the A.L. West division. If MAgglio stays with the sox for a little while longer I'm sure he would become in my mind the greatest white sox player ever.
  11. 1 player you forgot is Ryan Klesko. The Padres are willing to trade Klesko and his big ass salary away. The trade could go a little something like this: Padres Get: Carlos Lee Neal COtts Prospect Prospect WHite SOx get: Ryan Klesko Alan Webb
  12. I do believe that the Angels who have the best record in the Majors will not trade Erstad or Anderson. SEan Casey has been reported of being on the trading block so we could get him. But we would have to send them prospects and such. JEromy Burnitz will not be able to hit outside of Coors Field if traded. STeve FInley is having a great season and the Diamondbacks would want good prospects in return (possibly JEremy Reed) And Randy Winn he will be on the trading block as long as the MAriners continue to suck. So we are down to either Sean CAsey, Jeromy Burnitz, STeve Finley, and RAndy Winn out of those I would most prefer CAsey because of age and the recommendation that TOny Gwynn gave him.
