Can't stress enough how I hated not protecting him. Classic rule 5 pick profile. More importantly, a guy you invested millions of dollars and resources into and who mostly performed last year in a position of need and you let him go for nothing while having an empty 40 man roster. Makes 0 sense. Hopefully we get him back. I'd prefer him to our own rule 5 pick I would think but with the empty (and bad) roster, not like it's an either/or.

40 man has like 5 open spots. Can't imagine we pass. Granted I dont know why we didnt protect a certain someone with that kind of room either.

The saber people LOVE that outfielder from the Blue Jays. I dont know if we can hide a bat first, little defense player on the roster for the full year. Wouldn't hate a 2nd round pick with him though and trying.

Yahoo projects 3 years 36 million and a 6 million posting fee. MLBTR says 4 years 64 million which is probably out of the wheelhouse.
