Can he still get on a playoff roster?

Is that just a gut feeling? Or do you have information, even informed speculation? Cuz I desperately need a reason to hope that Bob yanked this from where the nightingale sings.
McGuffey saying the TLR stuff and Northbrook Bob confirming its not true is enough for me to call it.

So this story seems like it was made up. Definitely just Hahn leaking s%*# because he knows Bob will run with anything he says. I hate him.

well, hey, there is this. Not that McGuffy has anything. FWIW I don't think TLR ever left the org so I feel like this will be a quibble over whether he was "brought back"
Yeah he was already a consultant as far as I was aware. Didn't he make an appearance at Spring Training or somewhere before that caused some angst?

Aside from just, not wanting to believe it...what evidence is there to tell you any of Bob's article is false? He was the ONLY one to bring up LaRussa being a potential option for the Sox as manager after Ricky, we all said he was crazy, and then it happened.
His article gets into detail about how Kenny and Rick were both let go, speaks on Tony being involved with Jerry and Pedro, and uses strong wording to state Getz is by far the favorite right now. You think his source is Rick or Kenny? Come on, Bob is smarter than that. He clearly spoke to Jerry yesterday.
Not sure Boob is smarter than that. Hahn had been in the press since the second he let go to anyone who will listen. Again though not really putting it by the Sox to hire Getz.

I wish I was with you. It seems so insane, but I also thought the TLR stuff was just humoring a friend.
I hope to God it ends up being Rizzo. He seems like the best case JR guy. Old school guy, but ran by far the best old school scouting org and his track record in trades is phenomenal.
It's just hard for me to believe any of these leaks when no one saw KW Hahn getting fired. No one has their ear in the front office clearly, except Hahn leaking s%*# to save himself.
I will say Getz being hired though isn't inherently surprising.

Ozzie says Jim Thome and Steve Stone will be next GM. Pods predicts Our Chuck. Our Chuck predicts Dan Duquette.
-
Pretty awesome post-game show. Very candid. Our Chuck saying go outside the org. Whole crew burying Eloy. Going after Pedro now.

Does he have a personal connection to there?
Well his tweet yesterday says MLB wouldn't allow the Sox to move from Chicago

Huff is a lot more natural than most fill-ins.

If it stands should be a fair ball.

That's a fair ball

This meme is really starting to make some of us want Burger to fail because these types of posts are getting to be ridiculous. Burger is a giant...nothing Burger.
The best part is that he's succeeded every step of the way then.

But seriously, why were these clowns allowed to trade Burger?

Caller on espn mentioned the name Mellody Hobson. Does she own 30%? All I could find was 1 article about it. Wouldn't the other owners have to agree to moving or does Jerry have ultimate decision power?
She does own even more than Jerry at this point, from what is rumored. But somehow Jerry has full voting power, including in selling the team. No idea how that works but that's the word.

hopefully this thread gets enough responses and replies to knock the Machado thread of the podium.
We got 5 years.

What really would make a lot of sense is dropping a baseball stadium in with the Bears stadium at Arlington Park.
The 78 makes more sense. Wouldn't even have to change the City Connect jerseys.
Of course neither will ever happen.
The Sox would have no built in fanbase on the northside

Not going to debate the TV contracts aren’t a consideration, but Oakland will be going to Vegas (far smaller population than the Bay Area).
A MLB team in Nashville would crush it if placed correctly and marketed.
Again you have to think about the next 15-20 years. IMO far far more appealing to be in Nashville than a slowly dying Chicago’s second fiddle
Las Vegas is its own entity and should not be compared to anything because there's truly nothing like it. It can make up for lack of TV money with the insane amount of tourist dollars spent there, although I do think the move still holds some risk. Even then it's a lot closer to Oakland than Nashville is to Chicago. And Chicago is one of the biggest tourist destinations in the world while Nashville is Nashville. But that's not what would drive this anyway, it's still the 10 million to 1 million population difference.

Would become one of the top franchises in MLB if they had the right owner and moved to Nashville. Skate to where the puck is going and GTH out of Illinois.
can’t believe I’m saying it but it’s true
MLB aren't giving up TV contracts that cover 10 million plus people for a city below 1 million. Nashville isn't a real threat.

Another double for Colas.

Just sucks that this will be a slow process. Now we have to hear about the Nashville Sox for 5 years.

Hahn, but yes anyone works, really.
