  1. I think I read SEC went 7-9 against p5 teams OOC. FSU went 2-0 against the SEC. So yeah, rewarding the conference is stupid.
  2. Big difference between missing 12 games out of a 82 game season vs 40-50+ of a 162 game season. They answered their own question. Sox probably okay with around 20.
  3. https://ca.sports.yahoo.com/news/sportsnets-ben-wagner-out-as-voice-of-blue-jays-radio-broadcasts-192540349.html Don't know who he is but Jays fans are pissed about it. He's from South Bend area so I wonder if possibly relevant here. Toronto Newspaper seems to hint at that: "Sometimes organizations let people go before they leave on their own. I suspect that could be the case with the super-talented, highly coveted, under-utilized Ben Wagner"
  4. Bulls for the 2nd game complaining to the other team about running up the score. So pathetic.
  5. Rosenthal this morning reiterating Dodgers being most aggressive for Cease
  6. https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2023/11/reds-reportedly-pursued-sonny-gray-interested-in-tyler-glasnow.html Nothing Cease specific but Reds still clearly on the hunt for a top pitcher.
  7. I don't know post-covid, but a lot of their attendance pre-covid was international travelers.
  8. https://www.theringer.com/platform/amp/2016/9/16/16043294/whats-with-all-baseball-players-saying-let-it-eat-1100997116ab
  9. If Cease doesn't have value for a top 25 prospect ++ then you keep him and enable him to rebuild that value. Simple as.
  10. The they're is the other teams though. Those other teams aren't interested. When he says has to make sense for both sides, it says to me the Sox, despite being desperate to get rid of him, can't even find a low bid.
  11. Nah it's mental with him. He will fail perhaps even harder
  12. Everyone seemed to be connecting Quantrill to the Sox. Guessing Sox knew last night and pivoted.
  13. This is a hell of a trade on paper. Pretty incredible they got 5 players for Bummer, at least 3 of them who could provide some value. Guess we shall see with Soroka though. Shuster seems like the true headliner; imagine he slots into the rotation right away.
  14. My pick is a definite longshot that I mentioned in the other thread. Brian Barnhart who calls Illini football and basketball. My favorite PBP guy in all of sports. Used to do Angels games years. Has turned down other MLB work to remain in Champaign. He is a Sox fan though so maybe he'd consider, not that he'd ever be asked because he's not in the Jerry-sphere to begin with.
  15. Would really like to see if they can pull Brian Barnhart from Champaign. He's my absolute favorite PBP guy in all of sports and used to do Angels games years before the Illini. He's turned down other MLB jobs to remain there, but Sox would obviously be a closer pull. He's a Sox fan too.
  16. And did he do that? Seems to me he just took on even more responsibility. Olympic year too he'll probably miss like all of July.
  17. National jobs are largely worse than team jobs, unless you're the top of the top.
  18. He was gone so much. I don't blame the Sox for this one.
  19. Tim posted a nice tribute of his time here on his instragram. Luis Robert responded that he's his twin which Anderson responded that he loves him as a brother. Never got the impression at all that Luis, and TA alongside Hendriks and Giolito were ever the issues in the clubhouse but I know this board has made up their mind differently.
