For anyone at the game, we're the fans at least halfway civil to each other? Any major confrontations?
I was in Wrigley, not in the game. There were actually a ton of Sox fans out and about. I was surprised. Saw 0 confrontations.

Almost certainly Moncada.

More people commented about Kenyon Middleton’s day care than an actual well played win yesterday with a big time HR.
Sure but you drove a lot of that dumb discussion. Beating rivals is important. Not the most important thing, but important nonetheless.

It’s quite fitting that Timmy, Yoan, Grandal and Vaughn all went hitless. Those four are realistically the main underachievers in this lineup.
...on a night mr overachiever Jake Burger went 3 for 4.

Have his stats crated recently in AA and is he hurt? No stats for him since Aug 10.
He's sick apparently.

Because of exactly this kind of thing, where a player has kids and gets traded and it isn't easy and probably doesn't make sense to move the entire family to New York for 8 weeks before becoming a free agent again.
But again, it's for during games. Like aside from this weird exact situation where the Yankees happen to be visiting, why would someone go drop their kids off at Sox stadium at 6pm at night (assuming the Sox are even at home)? That doesn't make any sense.

No it wouldn't, but it also wouldn't be surprising at all if there was some sort of pool type setup for this, including one arranged by the families who know they need to anticipate such things.
It's just for during games. Why would there be a pool set-up for somewhere you're not going to be?

So it sounds like this kid is going to need a sound recovery plan from TJ as well as a good amount of development time and coaching to succeed in the bigs ( if he even makes it). The Sox have no idea what they are doing in either of those areas.
Even though this trade was only made a few weeks ago, I'm gonna call it a massive failure. The Sox gave up a guy in Burger who is a positive WAR player and gonna jack 30 plus homers this year.
Rick Hahn strikes again unfortuntaely.
The return is the least of my issues with the trade but yeah. I keep hearing the line "sold high!!!" as if it means anything. You got a single minor league pitcher for a quality position player with years of control. Maybe not a poor return but certainly not an overwhelming one. The sold high stuff is just buzzword crap given how little discussion there is on the return itself. Just because you traded a guy while he's having a good year doesn't actually mean you sold high.

One thing is for sure . it's a beautiful day for a ballgame.
But it's dreary, windy and rainy right now.

Mark Buehrle was one of my top three favorite Sox players this century. Sucks to find this out.
I don't even like pitbulls. That said, there's no way anyone actually cares about any of this.

The White Sox subreddit certainly does. I don't know what part of the fanbase they are though.
Edit: Hahn only though. KW they despise.

Well his wife seems to think it's a MLB deal. That would surprise me.

Burger slashing .278/.366/.472/.838 since joining the Fish. Eder meanwhile has given up 9 ERs in 5 IP. Early returns.

They may be out of it, but the Sox aren't afraid to play spoilers. They certainly ruined my evening.
We're spoiling the Cubs. It's all good.

That was one of the possible outcomes. Bellinger has that MVP upside and they were able to tap into it. He's about to get 6/180.
No way would I give him anything near that but I guess someone will.

Where the hell is Katz? You know what, probably better off in the dugout

I can't believe they're running Shaw out there like this. Even if he's effective, there's no point to it. Churn through arms with upside to try and find another Santos or Middleton
Someone has to eat innings at some point. We're already running out multiple guys with like 6 ERAs in Charlotte. Shaw is apparently Mr Willing by all accounts.

It's awesome we're finally going to have excellent 5th starter depth next year. Now just need a 2nd, 3rd and 4th starter to compensate.

I wish it were real. I'm perfectly okay with Middleton saying what he did. Scoreboard operators taking the most harmless jab ever is funny too though. No reason to be upset.

Thief steals car from White Sox star’s girlfriend near Wrigley Field

I was wrong in saying Moncada. Was certain it was him given his sports car collection. It's not Robert either though. It is Dylan Cease with the upset here.
