  1. Does the buyout still hit if the Sox agree to the mutual option and Clevinger doesnt?
  2. I'm sure they tried. Be interesting to see if he gets claimed here.
  3. As for Giolito, claim him and find something in the CBA that still makes him Qualifying Offer-Elgibile as a result.
  4. I'd rather have Haber over Getz. Not that I want either.
  5. Not sure man. Anything defending Hahn or feeling bad for Hahn as if he's some victim gets upvoted to the top every time.
  6. Yeah, but it's true for any city. Take out Englewood and Austin and Chicago still has far more murders than anywhere else. And to my original point, all of those places you listed are closer in population to a Chicago neighborhood than they are to Chicago on the whole, which is why I find these comparisons nonsensical. Anyways the best way for Chicago to fix its reputation is to become less violent. If NYC can do it, we can do it too. That's my final say on the topic. Rather get back to this individual story.
  7. You could actually take those two out and Chicago would still have far and away the most murders of any city. Would still have 170 more murders than New York for example.
  8. Perhaps a dumb question, but is there any way this whole this is a hoax? Reddit seems to think so, but they also think Rick Hahn is a good GM. I'm not going to pretend to know anything about ballistics or how that bullet casing should look.
  9. Chicago has more murders than anywhere else in the country and it's not even close. The per capita stuff is ridiculous when the cities being compared are far closer in population to a single Chicago neighborhood than Chicago itself. Austin the neighborhood has 100k people and would be statistically the most dangerous place in the Western world if you isolated it out. It's ridiculous to use some affluent northshore area to ignore stuff like that. Philly is really the only place that compares to Chicago on the whole. That said Bridgeport is awesome. There's some shitty places around it though. You don't want its rep slipping because other idiots around it.
  10. First victim had graze wound in stomach. 2nd victim had two graze wounds and an entry wound. There was 1 casing but didn't make sense that there was one casing. The scene apparently didn't make a lot of sense. I'm not really sure what to make of that.
  11. Sounded like that sell the team got muted but maybe just an artifact
  12. They try saving the ball? It's not his debut
  13. I mean unless I'm missing something there, do you expect them to say anything else? Just seems like boilerplate stuff. Of course they're not going to go against the guy who is currently their boss.
  14. What the hell is up with some people trying to already repaint Hahns legacy? He's the worst GM in franchise history. Period. Stop. Reading other sites, it's like Hahn is some political candidate where all the comments are astroturfed and inauthentic to try and prop him up. It's bizarre.
  15. Yeah that part, true. Not sure what happened there. Harper was definitely the right call then. But the whole Machado saga and after they seemed to be talking to the press together. Not sure what to make of any of it other than glad they're both gone.
  16. I've never seen those two more locked in together than their pursuit of Machado and the fallout.
