4 people charged in the protests from Friday: http://wgntv.com/2016/03/13/4-charged-in-p...p-rally-at-uic/

Judging by twitter, a bunch of the people threatening to assasinate Trump were rounded up by the FBI this morning, so that's good.

QUOTE (Brian @ Mar 13, 2016 -> 07:27 AM) I'm kind of curious what Trump looks like when he throws a punch. If his WrestleMania appearance is any indication, he wouldn't dent paper. They don't put you in the WWE hall of fame for nothing...wait

QUOTE (pettie4sox @ Mar 13, 2016 -> 12:06 AM) http://thehill.com/blogs/ballot-box/272802...is-tied-to-isis ISIS fears a Trump presidency! Nice work by security. I don't think trump makes it to November sadly. Too many ccrazies.

https://twitter.com/neiltyson/status/708817118150537216 That's got to sting for a lot of people.

QUOTE (SnB @ Mar 12, 2016 -> 03:03 PM) C'mon now. You can be a Sanders supporter and not support what happened yesterday. Don't be that guy. Yes. Fair. Definitely support Sanders even after last night. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Mar 12, 2016 -> 03:17 PM) The happiest man in America right now https://twitter.com/SpeakerBoehner/status/708673323622928385 Definitely. He helped destroy the Republican party. We'd all be dancing on his grave but he got out in time.

QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Mar 12, 2016 -> 01:04 PM) There's a big excluded middle between "random group of protesters," "Bernie's people" and even "just MoveOn.org." There were a lot of different groups there last night. So inside here's what went down. There were two dedicated sections to protestors. This was clearly planned. All the protestors just don't happen to all huddle up and sit right next to each other when they were in the 1000s. This was the main concern of security and what ultimately shut down the event. They were chanting BERNIE BERNIE BERNIE BERNIE throughout. I'm not denying there were other groups there just that this was the primary reason for concern. NBC WaPo Here's moveon themselves explaining what went down: https://twitter.com/ArielCohen37/status/708477056384901120 It's all well documented they were the primary people behind this. I'm not sure what the controversy is.

Good. You seemed upset.

And just for the record I mean inside the event. That was Moveons business. They did it well. I don't know about outside. I wasn't really out there.

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Mar 12, 2016 -> 12:55 PM) Hahahahahahahahahahahaha. I don't support Bernie and I can see f***ing dumb that is. Every single protester there last night supported someone other than Trump. Most were there because they do not support blatant racism. Relax. You're acting like this was just a random group of protestors. Again this was extremely well organized.
-
QUOTE (RockRaines @ Mar 12, 2016 -> 12:50 PM) Lol what? That's hilarious. Every person who doesn't want to put up with blatant racism and oppression and decided to protest was because of Sanders? I mean to believe that is amazing. It was put together by Moveon.org. The chants were all about bernie sanders. Everyone going into the event were given stuff about bernie sanders. It was well organized. Bernie certainly didn't disavow the violence but rather encouraged it. As we know he should have to disavow that every 15 minutes. I'm sure not every protestor was there for Bernie, just the most organized ones.

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Mar 12, 2016 -> 12:43 PM) Trump has been challenging the first amendment rights of people in this country for months. Last night people finally got sick of it And what does Bernie Sanders have to do with anything? Such a weird statement The protests were organized by his group.
-
QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Mar 12, 2016 -> 12:26 PM) The First Amendment is not the one I'd hoped would be challenged this election season. Last night was an embarrassment and against everything this country stands for - or at least I thought. f*** anyone who supports Bernie Sanders right now. Well said

The only reason he's around doesn't have anything to do with 2017 imo. Can't let uncommitted players hold your program hostage. It's no coincidence he was given his vote of confidence the same day Lovie Smith was hired. If football wasn't going to be fixed, it would be basketball getting fixed. Doubt there's enough money to go around now, thanks to general apathy towards the bball program. -

QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Mar 12, 2016 -> 09:13 AM) Groce had better pull in a historic 2017 class. There's no way he should be around now. -

Starting fights inside, smashing cops with bricks, blocking ambulances, shooting guns in the air.

Okay man. You are right. I run when I don't feel safe. I guess that makes me a coward. I posted this before the event was even cancelled: QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Mar 11, 2016 -> 06:13 PM) Man never seen a longer line for the event. Guy ahead of me got kicked out trying to bring a knife in so that was nice. It's secret service, dumbass. Around 1k protestors here chanting "uncle tom and "shame on you" towards black trump supporters. Keeping it real classy. Probably a hundred people kicked out already. Trump hasn't even come on yet. Yes, people trying to sneak weapons in initially freaked me out. Maybe I was a little too on edge. But then supporters were getting attacked right in front of me. Once they cancelled the event, it was probably the scariest situation. Luckily I spotted a group getting escorted by secret service, and I jumped in line with them.

Man were totally not going to fire Groce. That makes me one sad panda.

QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Mar 11, 2016 -> 10:45 PM) Police disagree, and trump clearly lied and was scared off by protesters. Not sure how tough of a leader he'd be. He actually said he was worried for his supporters. He was right. I was scared as hell, not going to lie.

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Mar 11, 2016 -> 10:39 PM) The question is was it idiocy or political strategy to hold the rally on a college campus on the near West Side? I doubt the same protests happen at Harper College in Palatine . Maybe they wanted the publicity. Or maybe they are just dumb. Definitely strategy one that "failed" and will end up working better for him.
