Not quite as visible as Flint, but Im sure the southside folk are familiar with what happened in Ceestwood: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Water_conta...twood,_Illinois Different set of circumstances but same corruption.

Yeah I thought this lawsuit would end up settling the blackout debacle. Of course not. -
White Sox interested in SS Ian Desmond
Buehrle>Wood replied to caulfield12's topic in Pale Hose Talk
We can sign him June 6th for cheaper because I doubt he gets signed until then -
QUOTE (CB2.0 @ Jan 22, 2016 -> 08:48 AM) So if the Sox are really not serious or out on Cespedes, why not any offers or rumors of offers on Jackson/Fowler or an OF trade? I'm sure Hahn has put out feelers and possibly some talks, but it would seem that Cespedes is their #1 target. If it weren't, you would think something else would've been done by now or at least, the makings of something getting done. Right? This whole Cespedes saga is just weird! People are simply mistaking the lack of information with negative information. Could be right, we'll see.

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jan 22, 2016 -> 08:07 AM) According to....? It was posted probaly 100 pages ago, honestly can't remember. Also said nats would submit an offer yesterday morning and mets at night too, so seems to be reliable.
-
QUOTE (Flash Tizzle @ Jan 22, 2016 -> 08:01 AM) Three year deals are right up our alley, why wouldn't we be all over this!? I believe we were making our final offer last night, so it's possible they are.

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jan 22, 2016 -> 08:01 AM) The mystery team is an ass covering trick all these guys use. When is a "mystery team" not involved? Unless it is a slam dunk they are going some place, they say mystery team so if they go somewhere else, that was the mystery team even though there may have been 4 or 5 mystery teams, and some of the information they reported was a mystery to those involved. To he fair, heyman likely agrees with all this. He put the hashtag in front of it as to show it's a bit of a joke, although serious at the same time.

QUOTE (WhiteSoxLifer @ Jan 22, 2016 -> 07:24 AM) Sources: Mets, Cespedes discussing an opt-out clause after the 1st year of a three-year deal. Would allow him to test market again Fall '16. https://twitter.com/Buster_ESPN/status/690523949478907908 For Cespedes, 3-year deal/opt-out in '16 would give him chance to cash in next fall. For Mets, would limit financial obligation. https://twitter.com/Buster_ESPN/status/690524439113527296 Expectation among some parties in the talks is that Cespedes will make his choice in the next 24 to 48 hours. https://twitter.com/Buster_ESPN/status/690524696950001664 The nats stuff isn't real. Time to swoop in.

QUOTE (chunk23 @ Jan 21, 2016 -> 10:37 PM) Based on that latest article, it sounds like the Sox really haven't been involved very much at all. To go along with his previous tweet, he just doesn't know anything about the Sox offer so he doesn't have much to say on it.

Star wars Rogue One is this December. Soon as I heard that I knew episode 8 was getting delayed.

Yeah that new Kane accusation reeks of 100% BS. Shame on the person who wrote that.

QUOTE (soxfan49 @ Jan 21, 2016 -> 04:21 PM) What's that "source's" name who said they would sign him? Bauer? I went back to page 250 and I can't find it What team are you talking about?
-
QUOTE (ChiSoxFanMike @ Jan 21, 2016 -> 04:01 PM) I don't know how legit this guy is, so take it FWIW. @scotteRotoX Have it on very good word that the White Sox will not be in on Cespedes at all He's a fantasy writer and his source seems to be from metsblog.com he does seem popular though.
-
QUOTE (bmags @ Jan 21, 2016 -> 03:51 PM) It's not a good tweet. "Oh, really, when the Sox are showing interest in a marginal reliever that hasn't signed yet and then sign them that shows they mean business?" I like Albers, but...what? That signing isn't indicative of anything from Sox. He was intentionally trolling.
-
QUOTE (Jose Paniagua @ Jan 21, 2016 -> 03:36 PM) Ken Rosenthal @Ken_Rosenthal 53s54 seconds ago The unknown in Cespedes talks is whether other teams also are in. @jonheyman first suggested that #Nationals’ offer could be five years. Rosie backtracking a bit here
-
Great news. Cheap too.
-
QUOTE (ChiSoxFanMike @ Jan 21, 2016 -> 03:02 PM) At this point, f*** it and offer 5/125. The Sox need Cespedes. If what we believe is true with Cespedes and the top thing to him aside from money is culture, no reason we should offer more than the nats.
-
QUOTE (SouthSideSale @ Jan 21, 2016 -> 02:56 PM) Call me a homer but I still don't buy Cespedes to Washington. +1 No idea why the hell this board became so negative because the Nationals submitted an offer. It's one lower than we expected except were doomed now. It honestly made me more confident as I don't think it'll be hard to beat.
-
QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jan 21, 2016 -> 02:06 PM) It's the 28th pick. There will be a great player available, but will the White Sox choose him? If you look at the actual 28th pick the last 7 years, there is one guy you wouldn't trade for Dexter Fowler, and that is Gerrit Cole who was selected with the 28th pick in 2008 by the Yankees. One problem, he didn't sign. The fact that the Sox would still have their normal draft intact makes giving up the draft pick no big deal to me, and it keep his suitors and therefore price tag a little lower. The draft pool money is just as important as the high pick itself. Last year our draft sucked because we were so limited financially.
-
QUOTE (blackmooncreeping @ Jan 21, 2016 -> 01:28 PM) It's the years on the table that is probably making a difference. Not like the Sox are going to offer $100 for 3 years... We're going to offer 4. 4/90 should easily compete with that.
-
I don't get how anyone looks at that and thinks were out. That's lower aav than I expected.
-
Someone get faked by the Rosenthal account again?
-
QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Jan 21, 2016 -> 11:08 AM) What's pants looking for contract wise? Rowland died in 1969, so I'd guess cheap
-
QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Jan 21, 2016 -> 10:31 AM) Cespedes' agent just followed the Nationals on Twitter Ha that's great. Makes me pretty confident his agent is stirring all the is Nats BS.

I think that NY Reporter is 12 years old. Like legit. He does have 15k followers so he may know what's up. Mets also signed Bastardo at 6 per.
