  1. QUOTE (BlackSox13 @ Dec 17, 2015 -> 04:42 PM) With the hole left by my at second, Alexei entrenchment at SS and the numerous players the Sox tried at third its really no wonder. However, the Sox did in fact play Sanchez at SS for one game last year, he started 43 games at SS in 2014 and 51 games in '13 for Charlotte so he is familiar with the position. Sanchez has plenty of range for SS, its his arm strength that is concerning but as a utility he should be fine. He played that one game at short in 2014, not 2015. He had terrific range so I get it's his arm. Even Gordon Beckham and Leury Garcia registered multiple games at SS last year but not Sanchez. That's pretty telling to me of what the White Sox think of him on the left side, especially since most of the games were meaningless so it sure as s*** wouldn't have hurt to try him there. They couldn't even do that. Don't get me wrong, I'm for him being a SS in some manner. I was screaming for the Sox to play him there last year. I just dont expect the Sox to do it.
  2. QUOTE (bucket-of-suck @ Dec 17, 2015 -> 04:13 PM) You're kidding,...right? Yes
  3. QUOTE (mataipaepae @ Dec 17, 2015 -> 04:26 PM) I don't get the love for Alexi. He has been bad at the plate the last couple years. And hiis fielding has started to slip. Saladino was solid in the field last year. And showed as capable with the bat. Sanchez is the definition of a utility infielder. Move on. Don't be afraid of change. Sox refuse to play Sanchez on the left side of the infield so it's going to be hard for him to be a UIF.
  4. Baez and Soler for Gray. Can't see the A's saying no to that haul
  5. Give Saladino 2 months, then sign Desmond if he's that bad.
  6. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Dec 16, 2015 -> 08:04 PM) I hope Jaquan Lyle transfers. Looks like a Ohio State freshman is transferring, not him.
  7. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Dec 17, 2015 -> 12:28 PM) He said after the game to the ESPN crew that he STILL has double vision, but that he's a "professional" so he can deal with it. I, too, think it's bulls***. Unless it's a very, very minor issue (like haloing or something), he'd see a specialist if it didn't go away after 3 months. Yeah. Highly doubt he would not be playing now if he had double vision.
  8. QUOTE (Brian @ Dec 17, 2015 -> 12:02 PM) Did you examine him? Do I need to to believe him?
  9. QUOTE (fathom @ Dec 17, 2015 -> 09:53 AM) Maybe it's me, but it sure sounds like they will get a new RF Why do you say that? Didn't listen.
  10. QUOTE (TheFutureIsNear @ Dec 17, 2015 -> 09:44 AM) RF is obvious...,but I think people are forgetting about platoon partner for LaRoche. 1 that can preferably play corner OF defense well so Melky can gett off the field as often as possible. Provided LaRoche is still on the team of course SP? Not at all. Let EJ pitch, he's fine. And unfortunately Danks isn't going anywhere. We should have 1 of, it not the best, top 3 SP's in baseball. Avi is fine for a platoon with Laroche and 5th outfielder/late pinch hitter. He can still hit lefties. We've lost 3 relievers who could have been in the pen this year, although none of them on opening day. Would like to see the pen shored up and bring in an emergency starter. But yeah any money spent should all go towards getting an OF.
  11. QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Dec 17, 2015 -> 08:34 AM) Why can't NL players hit in the AL? Not sure I understand the logic behind this theory. I don't subscribe to it in this case, but lots of bad pitching in the NL that will stay on rosters due to it being easier to pitch in so they look effective. Those same pitchers wouldn't make it in the AL. NL batters see inferior and can mash it.
  12. I never want to see Mike Olt again. Extremely minor complaint but we really should have drafted a reliever in the rule 5.
  13. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Dec 16, 2015 -> 06:15 PM) Umm....these are two guys who are total bums. They invested nothing in them. This is purely depth moves. Why would these moves (1.5M for Nava and whatever small amount for Gentry and his .396 OPS for 2015) preclude a club from going after a major free agent. Angels themselves said they're out.
  14. Really don't think Puig will end up costing a top of the line prospect anymore.
  15. Dodgers fans seem to think is the start of a bigger deal. Makes sense. Would love to get involved in a 3 way again with them and grab Puig.
  16. QUOTE (beautox @ Dec 16, 2015 -> 03:38 PM) Cespedes since he won't cost a pick, followed by Upton and Gordon. Just want to say again giving up your second pick should barely be even a footnote when you're handing out 9 figure contracts. Don't risk f***ing up the future roster and payroll flexibility on a stupid draft pick.
  17. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Dec 16, 2015 -> 03:23 PM) By the way, for those clamoring for Ethier (who I've long been an advocate of), if we did this same package and got Ethier, I'd be telling you all we got hosed and robbed blindly (due to his payroll constraints). The initial thoughts were the sox got both, not one of frazier or ethier.
  18. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Dec 16, 2015 -> 12:10 PM) Sanchez as the utility guy looks pretty good. Sox seemed very afraid of playing him on the left side of the infield .
  19. If the Warriors don't win the NBA championship this past year, I'm not sure this deal gets done as is. Probably Trayce's most valuable asset to is his name value.
  20. QUOTE (Knuckles @ Dec 16, 2015 -> 11:39 AM) Jim Bowden ‏@JimBowden_ESPN 36s36 seconds ago Frankie Montas best prospect moved in three way deal.and Dodgers get him not Reds? Has to be more to this deal…doesn’t make sense on surface I sort of agree. I feel like there's still another piece here.
  21. Montas is the only thing of real value. Sucks for him too because he's probably most valuable on the White Sox.
