  1. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Dec 11, 2015 -> 03:16 PM) Aren't the Cubs planning to do the "Private network" move when their contract is up in 2019? Yeah, which means their stake(well, 67% of it) in CSN gets sold to Reinsdorf who will take about a 55% ownership stake in the network, which is tied directly to the teams and not the actual owner.
  2. QUOTE (IowaSoxFan @ Dec 11, 2015 -> 02:59 PM) The Sox are not going to get a competitive TV deal. Low attendance, lowest viewership of any team on a RSN. They are going to have to do something different to compete for a contract like those that you see other teams getting. They have ownership in their own network and that % is about to spike way up thanks to the Cubs. They don't need a competitive deal.
  3. TV deals becoming ridiculous are the exact reason the Sox would never ever move. They drive everything. This isnt the 70s. Even if people aren't tuning in, the potential will always be there for them to do so, and there's no chance in hell MLB gives that up.
  4. Fortunately MLB would never give up a local TV contract in Chicago. That's where the money is these days anyways.
  5. https://twitter.com/BestFansStLouis?ref_src...7Ctwgr%5Eauthor This twitter feed is must read right now
  6. Twitter rumors of 31.5 aav. I'm at peace with this if that becomes true.
  7. QUOTE (fathom @ Dec 11, 2015 -> 12:33 PM) All about the hype for the Cubs prospects. Amazing to me Baez has as much value as they make it seem. Castro didn't have anything remotely near the value the Cubs and their press made it seem, so I guess there's that.
  8. QUOTE (Chet Kincaid @ Dec 11, 2015 -> 12:23 PM) And the only thing we've done is sign 2 catchers and Brett Lawrie. We're doomed. Next year is going to be so bad. We're all gonna die. Cubs winning the World Series would put the sox pretty close to their death bed if they stay bad.
  9. I guess the good news is that their success will still hinge on Arrietas elbow. Still think they should have blown their stack on a top of the line pitcher.
  10. QUOTE (TheTruth05 @ Dec 11, 2015 -> 11:54 AM) Morosi and real Rosenthal are hinting that's the case anyway Nothing to indicate that on Ken's twitter. Or Morosi's for that matter.
  11. QUOTE (Baron @ Dec 11, 2015 -> 11:45 AM) Sounds like he may be going to the Cubs See twitter has fallen victim to the fake Ken Rosenthal account again
  12. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Dec 11, 2015 -> 11:25 AM) And he'll likely have an opt out for 3-4 years down the road, where he'll capitalize on one last contract. Which in this case will be awesome. Part of the reason I want him. I get player opt-out is hugely in the players favor, but here you get the best of his years likely won't have to worry about what will be an awful back end of the contract.
  13. Erstad in 2007 was one of the worst players I've ever seen and no stats will convince me otherwise.
  14. I think people were worried when they heard this would be the topic because they thought the podcast would be sympathetic towards Bowe, like they were (for the most part) with Adnan. I didn't get that impression at all though in the first episode. It probably helps that Sarah isn't the one interviewing Bowe. I guess we'll see how it plays out.
  15. It is insane and I think he's insane. His story is stupid and I don't find me being anymore sympathetic to him even if it's the 100% truth. Next week's episode should be great.
  16. He's been gone awhile. I think McGregor takes it.
  17. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Dec 11, 2015 -> 07:46 AM) Where was that? I saw where they said they liked the freedom of this years system. JVG said it, at Noahs suggestion.
  18. Didn't Mike Jackson set some sort of career record before we cut him? Can't remember
  19. I say hide the diamond club from being visible as long as it's closed
  20. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Dec 10, 2015 -> 04:59 PM) We're not even running his offense. Opening tip-off, vs Cleveland, the first few plays were easily identifiable as a new offense. They've really strayed away from that. The players said they wanted to run plays from last year.
  21. QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Dec 10, 2015 -> 05:07 PM) New mystery team involved. It's the White Sox, of course.
  22. QUOTE (Markbilliards @ Dec 10, 2015 -> 04:44 PM) Andy Gonzalez. I'm still angry to this day about how much playing time he received. Ozzie hit him clean up once.
  23. QUOTE (Saufley @ Dec 10, 2015 -> 04:13 PM) and when the Sox traded for Avi everyone had such high hopes. Who were the scouts that said he was a minny Migi? Who were they? They thought he could possibly play CF.
